The Hazy Hideaway is situated a ¼ mile off of County Road G and is nestled on over 3.0 acres within the Lautenbach Woods Nature Preserve – a Door County Land Trust, which consists of over 150 preserve acres and 2 miles of easy-to-moderate hiking trails. This custom built, tastefully decorated hand-hewn log cabin is like no other in Door County. You’ll be amazed by the open floor plan with 20 ft. high ceilings and a perfect blend of rustic flare and contemporary décor. This exceptionally clean cabin boasts 3 BR/2 ½BA with a spacious loft and screened-in porch, which is perfect for a friends and family gathering. The layout of the cabin with the open floorplan consisting of 2,307 square feet of living space makes it ideal for families with children or smaller groups of adults. *** Please review the sleeping arrangements prior to booking.

The Hazy Hideaway is conveniently located less than 2 miles from Frank E. Murphy Park where you can enjoy the beautiful shores and sunsets of Lake Michigan. The sandy beach and public boat launch makes this a very desirable location to spend the day. The historic Horseshoe Bay Farms, legendary Horseshoe Bay Cave and the prestigious Horseshoe Bay Golf Club are also located within this same immediate area - just a stone's throw away.

This property is located on a peaceful cul-de-sac, ideal for quiet family vacations. Due to the close proximity of neighbors and local regulations, gatherings such as parties, bachelor or bachelorette events, reunions, weddings, or other large celebrations are not permitted.

Important: The wood-burning stove in the Great Room is inoperable. It has been shut off due to improper use in the past, which led to costly repairs. Attempting to use it will cause poor ventilation, soot buildup, and smoke inside the cabin. For your safety and in accordance with insurance requirements, the stove must not be used.

Please note that to finalize your reservation, a separate terms and conditions agreement will need to be signed.

THE GREAT ROOM

The front of the house provides a picturesque scenic view of the outdoors with 4 oversized windows designed and crafted by Door County Rustic LLC as a “V-shaped prow,” which is an extremely challenging architectural feature of a log cabin. Gather ‘round the great room on a large sofa, love seat and recliner – all brand new furniture, which was purchased this year. Enjoy the big game or your favorite movie on the 55” inch curved 4k Samsung television with the over 200 channels offered on DirecTV. A Samsung Blu-ray DVD player also compliments this entertainment experience with a generous selection of DVD’s to choose from or bring your own if you wish. In the fall and winter months, enjoy the comfort and warmth of radiant heat flooring.

THE KITCHEN

Enjoy all the comforts of home and then some with a fully-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. These features include a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, as well as all brand new small appliances – three (3) coffee makers - a high end Keurig, Bunn and Cuisinart coffee maker (because coffee drinkers are particular), Breville hot chocolate and milk frothier, toaster, blender, tea kettle, popcorn popper, cheese boards and serving trays. Brand new professional cookware, knife set, cutting boards, serving plates, silverware, wine glasses, tumblers and Egg Harbor themed pint glasses are conveniently located within the kitchen cabinets or hanging on the wall-mounted racks. Children’s plates and cups are also provided for our younger guests.

MASTER BEDROOM and EN SUITE - 1st FLOOR

Nothing compares to a quality night’s sleep on a brand new luxurious mattress. You’ll find that in the master bedroom, which is located on the 1st floor and perfectly situated with a custom built, king size, log frame bed. Linens, pillows and pillowcases are provided. Unpack and unwind – 2 spacious dressers will accommodate your clothing and personal belongings on your extended stay. A 40” inch flat screen 4k Samsung television with DirecTV and Blu-ray player highlights the room if you want to catch the late show prior to calling it a night. The table lamp is equipped with a USB port to charge your phone or small electronic device while you sleep. The En Suite is uniquely furnished with an antique sink and vanity. Relax in the morning or at the end of the day in the two-person “Jacuzzi” tub. A separate stand-alone shower is also conveniently located adjacent to the “Jacuzzi.”

THE DINING ROOM

Enjoy an exceptional dining experience on a one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted, solid wood dining room table complete with six (6) matching solid wood chairs. Sit back and take-in the tranquility of the nature preserve as you watch through the abundance of windows offering a picture-perfect view. For additional seating, there are four (4) hand-crafted bar stools made from natural birch timber available at the kitchen counter.

THE LOFT

Need some quite time? The loft provides the perfect setting to relax, unwind, take a nap or maybe read a book. We’ve kept this simple and sweet by furnishing it with a smaller sofa, which pulls out to a full size bed, lamp and accent table. A shuffleboard table was recently added for some in-home entertainment.

THE SCREENED-IN PORCH

A room set aside from all the rest – simply impeccable in the spring, summer and fall. The screened-in porch is furnished with an outdoor Sunvilla sofa with "Sunbrella" cushions, as well as two (2) Sunvilla cushioned chairs with accent tables. Gather some friends or family and relish in conversation as you take in the cool breeze. In addition, you can stock your favorite beverage or chill that bottle of wine in a Tommy Bahama Teak wooden cart cooler, conveniently located within the screened-in porch.

GUEST BEDROOMS - 2nd FLOOR

Bedroom #1: Sleeping arrangements consist of a queen size bed and handmade log bunk beds – twin size on top with a full size on the bottom. Amenities include an accent dresser, night stand a 40’ inch flat screen Samsung 1080p television with DirecTV and storage closet.
Bedroom #2: Sleeping arrangements consist of two (2) separate extra-long twin size beds, a night stand dresser and storage closet with puzzles and games – ideal for the kids and younger guests.

LAUNDRY ROOM

The first floor ½ bathroom includes a hideaway closet containing a brand new pair of Whirlpool Chrome Shadow High Efficiency washer and gas dryer should you have to launder any of your personal attire. An iron, ironing board, drying rack, detergent, cleaning supplies, additional paper towels and bath tissue are also available.
