What makes this Cottage unique
This is one of the few vacation homes in the area with easy access (walkability) to Downtown Blue Ridge where you will find a range of dining options from fine dining to upscale bar and grill. Beautiful cottage that has been totally updated and ready for visitor's who enjoy today's lifestyle.
This adorable cottage is immaculate and well stocked with the necessary things to make a vacation stay delightful. It is close enough to the historic downtown to walk if guests are in pretty good shape, and it is surely the better choice since parking is at a premium. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the area.
Thanks Polly, for the five-star review and for taking time to let us know how much you enjoyed the home and the area. We hope that you'll come back.
The house was perfect for us. Clean, cozy
Only issue we had...The carbon monoxide detector went off and we first thought it was a dead battery. The property manager offered to send someone to replace it but my husband just went and bought batteries and changed them. It went off again later that night...both times I had used the gas oven. At this point we were a little concerned. I was afraid to put my family in danger. I called the property manager again and her suggestion was just open windows and don't use the oven anymore, which I obviously had already done. It was time to put our kids to bed and the gas smell was pretty strong at this point. We continued to worry and eventually called the fire dept for them to come and test the house. They determined it was ok for us to sleep there but that the oven was putting off unusually high levels of gas when in use. I passed all of this on to the property manager in hopes that no one else would experience the risk as well as inconvenice while on vacation.
First of all thanks for letting us know about the alarm going off-- this is the first time we have had an issue with that which is why I suspected the alarm was malfunctioning (maybe nobody has actually used the oven before?) At any rate, we had the gas company and an appliance repair expert out immediately to check everything out, and we are confident that the problem was resolved and there will be no further issues. I apologize again for the inconvenience to you and your family, and I thank you for taking the time to review our "clean and cozy" home.
It was darling
We felt very at home in this clean and Inspired little house. The train that came by was delightful and the details were appreciated for our short stay here this weekend.
We're delighted you were delighted! Thank you for the 5-star review. We're so glad you enjoyed our bungalow and hope you'll come often.
What more could you ask for?
This house is perfect for a mountain getaway. The pictures don't do it justice. It's clean, modern, but with plenty of rustic charm. You could just about forget the town and spend your entire trip at the house. The living room is so comfortable and cozy. The brick fireplace is stunning and puts off this wonderful warmth. The mini bar is a nice welcoming touch. Blue Ridge has nice restaurants, but the best food and atmosphere we had was in this kitchen. It is well stocked with cookware, cutlery, etc. and the appliances are brand new. The gas range is great and heats up instantly. The bathroom may be the best part. The shower isn't just a shower...it's an aquatic experience. My daughter took 3 showers a day just to use the multi shower head system. The house is just as charming outside as in. The landscaping is very attractive and not forced. We wished we had more time to sit in the rockers on the front porch and time to sit by a fire in the back. There is a small field next to house that my kids played in and they loved seeing the train go by and waving to the passengers.
The worst thing about this house is that it sets the bar so high for other properties and now I'll compare everything to it. And most places just aren't this nice. That and now that we're home my wife is talking about how much she loved this house and dreaming of renovations....but our house is only 7 years old. So she'll have to wait and I'll have to listen to her complaints.
fyi...the house IS close to town, but there aren't any sidewalks or trails to get there and the road doesn't have much of a shoulder. My wife and I would have walked it, but its not pedestrian friendly so I didn't risk it with our kids. Plus the playground is on the far end of town so better to drive. Which by the way is great, free entertainment for kids. It's brand new and pretty good-sized.
There are a few houses on the street in need of some loving and a vacant building at the end of the street, but none of them are in view of this property and in no way detracted from our wonderful experience. We all felt safe and welcome and had no issues.
All in all we had a wonderful time in Blue Ridge and loved this house. The house is kid friendly and my children enjoyed it, but it's probably better suited to a romantic getaway than a family vacation. We had evacuated from the coast so we didn't have much of a choice. We hope to come back someday for the romantic getaway.
Much thanks for the 5-star review and for sharing the details of your stay. I love that you and your family enjoyed and appreciated this charming bungalow and our sweet town. We hope you all will come back.
It doesn't get any better
A spotless and upscale place to stay for a night or a month in Blue Ridge GA. Near everything. We felt very much at home there. They thought of everything; even a charging outlet for my electric car.
Thanks for the great review, Jeffrey. We do try and anticipate every guest's needs, and I'm glad you felt at home. We hope you'll come back.
Blue Ridge Weekend
Home was very nicely renovated and decorated, but in a fairly lower end section next to the railroad tracks and across from an abandoned building. If you like backwoods Kentucky, hey its pretty cool. Also, house was indicated on the website as available to rent for "1 to 4 nights" and I only rented for the weekend but they charged me for the entire 4 nights.
Ok experience (and I wanted to emphasize that the home was very well renovated) but kind of left a sour taste for a 1st experience.
I went back and reviewed your reservation and you booked for two nights and were charged for two nights, and we gave you a late checkout on Sunday. So I'm not sure why you are under the impression that you overpaid. Your deposit was fully refunded as well.
This home is located in an authentic eclectic neighborhood-- nothing contrived or cookie-cutter about it. And it's so close to all the great dining and entertainment in the heart of this lovely mountain town. Most of our guests love that about it. I am sorry you were disappointed.
