We rented for 7 nights 6/12 tp 6/19/19. My husband is a true Maine outdoorsy guy. Me, I'm not a camper, more like a glamper. This vacation was the best of both worlds. he got to fish and hike through the woods. I like to sunbathe, and I even tried kayaking and found I really liked it. The home had all the items needed for our comfort. Being who I am, I brought a lot of my own items, such as towels, cooking items, etc. I didn't need to, the home is fully stocked. All you need are groceries. There was a wonderful assortment of spices as well as basic first aid needs.
I was disheartened that we really could not venture far as the tick population this year is extreme in Maine. Bring plenty of tick repellent and a tick spoon if you plan to hike. It was the height of the pine pollen season~thankful we don't suffer from seasonal allergies.
We were visited by two families of Canadian geese that swam by the camp each morning and evening.
We enjoyed day trips into North Conway and the surrounding areas. Did some antiquing and dining at local restaurants. Most of the time was spent simply relaxing at the camp, on the water or by the firepit.
We have rented other Maine camps and this one is at the top of our list.
