The "NAPA ART HOUSE" is a home filled with original, colorful art. It is a unique, 3 bedroom 2 bath, Craftsman style home built in 1920 and located in Old Town Napa. It is just a few blocks away from world-class dining, over 50 wine tasting rooms, microbreweries, and shopping. There is a robust nightlife featuring The Blue Note, Uptown Theater, and Copia. Make plans now to stay during multi-day events including Bottle Rock, The Napa Valley Film Festival, Flavor! Napa Valley (5 days of fabulous food and wine downtown and around the Valley) and the PGA Golf Tournament at Silverado.

Owned and operated by a local artist and her husband, the home is light, airy, comfortable, and filled with colors found in the original paintings hung throughout the house. All paintings in the Napa Art House are available to purchase.

The property features a secluded back yard with gardens, a new large hot tub, gas barbecue, an expansive deck, and comfortable outdoor furniture. There is also a separate cottage with a new comfortable convertible sofa sleeper. It is business-ready; a quiet spot with Wi-Fi, a large desk, and big screen TV, the perfect place to catch up on some work, simply relax, or take a nap.

There is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with a gas stove, ice maker, microwave, and espresso maker, everything you need for a wine tasting, simple meal, or a feast!
The NAPA ART HOUSE is perfect for entertaining either inside or outside. It is a great place to stay while enjoying our beautiful Napa Valley.
If you are interested in a private chef on the property, we can help you work out the details.
Our on site Property Manager has a private entrance to the second floor unit. He does not share or have views of the backyard, laundry or parking while guests are enjoying the house. But he is readily available if any problems or questions arise.

There is just something so incredibly lovely about this house! It's got a layout that flows. It's warm and cozy. The backyard is just lovely. We had a beyond wonderful time with kids and grandkids, and even our dog. The house is very much like the pictures, but at the same time, better. Peter, the caretaker, goes above and beyond to make sure everything is set up for the perfect stay. He's close enough to help but never intrusive. The kitchen is so well stocked. The beds are super comfy. The house is historic but everything works great and the house was super clean. We will be back!

This is an adorable cottage! We had two unexpected finds here. First was the adorable garden house. It has a fold out and desk/tv; perfect for people who get up early when others are sleeping in. Second was the tree zoo located about 3 blocks away. And of course, this is easy access to all the best wine imaginable. Peter is a great host and kept the coffee supply full for us.

Fantastic house in Napa

Best location near Fuller park and a 15 minute walk to town. The house is larger than expected! We loved the fireplace in the living room, the backyard is lovely and my husband loved working in the cottage. The second bath is small, if you are using all three bedrooms. We enjoyed the hot tub and the large grill! Great house!

We are the owners of the "Napa Art House" in downtown Napa. Joel grew up in Napa and Kathy is an artist whose work can be seen throughout the home. Their fondness for color and comfort is obvious in the casual furnishings and attention to detail that makes this home a special place. They are happy to share their love of the Napa Valley by making your stay as enjoyable and fun as possible.
The "Napa Art House" is one of only 41 legally permitted "whole-house" vacation rental homes in Napa (permit #VR09-0001).
peter Downey is our on site Property Managers. He has his own entrance to the second floor unit. He does not share the backyard, laundry or parking while guests are enjoying the house. But he is readily available if any problems or questions arise.

Why they chose this property

The Napa Art House is perfectly located for visitors to the Napa Valley. It is within walking distance to Old Town Napa where it is all happening (55 Tasting Rooms!).The house is easy to find and less than a mile from Hwy 29 for access to the rest of the Valley, and the Old Sonoma Road into Carneros and then on to Sonoma beyond.

What makes this property unique

The Napa Art House was built in 1927. It has all the charm and character of an original Craftsman Bungalow, with all the comforts and amenities that modern technology can provide. The plan is "open", and feels communal, but can easily be sectioned off into more private areas. There is a beautiful garden and very private back yard with a separate cottage where you can work or relax after a hard day of wine tasting. The wraparound porch is shaded and cool. The far back patio has a gas grill, lighting, and a high tin sun/rain cover for safe, low smoke all-weather grilling day or night. The patio deck enjoys afternoon shade from an old oak on the property, has tables and chairs, and is lit for dining or gathering at night.
