About the property

Newly furnished for work or play, with great location near ferry to Seattle.

This property is well suited to families who are relocating to the Seattle area and need 1-3 month temporary, but comfortable, housing.

The house is open, airy, and has great views of Eagle Harbor and the adjacent golf course. Since buying the house, we've purchased new furniture and appliances, including 65", 57", and 40" ultra-high definition flat screen TV's, stereo system, Xbox 1S, added high speed Internet, and more. We've also upgraded many of the plumbing and light fixtures, moved a wall or two, and painted just about everything. Finally, we added an interesting set of wall art, including maps, prints, photos and posters that have connection to Bainbridge Island and the Olympic Peninsula. Everything we've done has been of equal quality as what we have in our own home.

We've lived downhill from this house for over 40 years and helped the previous owners care for it while they were away for the winters. When they decided to downsize, we jumped at the opportunity to buy it and use it as a short to medium-term rental. We live here full-time, so are usually across the street.

The house is an ideal launchpad for trips to Seattle and destinations on the Olympic Peninsula. The ferry is 5 minutes away; the Olympic Peninsula is an hour drive over the Hood Canal bridge. There are also numerous destinations in downtown Winslow, 5 minutes away by car or a 20 minute walk.

One more comment about the house's comfiness: We get a lot of rainy days and this house is perfect for them. You can light the propane fireplace and watch the ferries and boat traffic on one side and the golfers (yes, they play in the rain) on the other. The house has a good heating system and stays uniform and comfortable even in a storm.

The house has a monitored ADT security system for intrusion, smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide. Renter's may (and are asked to) arm and disarm the system when away using the supplied FOB (keychain) or access code. The master bedroom has a hotel room-style safe with user-supplied code. Please don't read to much into all that--this is a low-crime neighborhood.

There is ample parking, including an enclosed garage, a covered carport, and a loop driveway that will accommodate additional vehicles. The garage also has plenty of space for bikes, etc. There’s also a big yard inside the loop, great for the kids to play.

The house is located near the end of a private road in the Wing Point Community, a prestegious 100+ year old community on Bainbridge. It's a tightly knit neighborhood, with most people knowing everyone else. Friendly.

The house is professionally cleaned every other Friday. The landscapers come every Friday. These are the same teams that work for us and they do a nice job and we trust them.

Renters are welcome to use our 167' bulkhead on Eagle Harbor, located directly down toward the water. It has an amazing view and sunny exposure. The bulkhead has a large lawn and is a great place to have a fire, play tetherball, kayak, or explore the beach and nearby Hawley Park. The bulkhead is a 2 minute walk down the hill from the rental house. You can continue onto the ferry, about 15 minutes further by the beach.

This is a wonderful house for a family needing a wonderful temporary residence while working, or a family gathering for one to three couples and up to four kids. The house is decorated in an Olympic Peninsula theme, with local photos, arts, and maps that relate to the area's attractions.

Located a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to the Seattle ferry, downtown Winslow, restaurants, bars, galleries, museums, and parks. This property is an ideal base for commuting to Seattle and for visiting the many recreational possibilities of the Olympic Peninsula.

The Guest House is located at the end of a private road in the Wing Point Community, a 100-year old prestigious community with a long history of ties to Bainbridge and Seattle pioneers. The neighborhood is quiet and has no thru traffic.

The Seattle ferry runs every 45-60 minutes from 4:40 AM to late night and takes about 35 minutes. You can walk to the ferry along the breach in about 20 minutes, depending on the tides.
