Spectacular views from this apartment home located directly on the Beach at Pine Point/OOB! This fully equipped apartment features two bedrooms sleeping four to five people, bathroom, living room, and kitchen. Enjoy magnificent sunrises over Prout's Neck and fireworks every Thursday evening. Walk out the door to seven miles of sandy beach. The main pier in Old Orchard Beach is only a one mile stroll in one direction and a two mile walk in the other direction leads you to Pine Point Beach and 'Ferry Beach' in Scarborough. Whether your dream vacation involves collecting shells, sunbathing or watching the seals play in the waves, it all awaits you at 40 Wavelet! The sand castles and sand dollars are waiting!

Enjoy lobster or the array of seafood that Maine offers at a local outdoor fish market or get your lobsters ordered all cooked and ready to eat. Bring them back to your apartment to enjoy while you watch the sunset on your deck.

Things to do: Scarborough Marsh Nature Center is a short distant away, offering canoe and kayak rentals for exploring the picturesque marshes and bird watching. There are also walking trails and guided tours. Ten minutes away are Funtown and Splashtown, great family water fun. A quick 30 minute drive finds you in the Old Port in Portland,offering numerous restaurants, children's museums, galleries and arts museums. Fun day trips include ferry cruises around Portland harbor to a variety of islands with their unique appeal. You might be lucky enough to see whales and seals in their natural environment. Portland is home to 'The Sea Dogs,' the Boston Red Sox minor league team. Water skiing and golf are also great ways to relax. You may choose to visit Kennebunkport, a rustic seacoast village with a variety of charming shops, or drive through the White Mountains in nearby New Hampshire.

Of course, no visit to Maine would be complete without a trip to L.L. Bean in Freeport, open 24 hours. Be sure to bring your hiking boots, your bathing suit, your bicycle and your appetite. The seafood is extraordinary and plentiful! You will not be disappointed with a visit to Maine during any season! It will be a vacation to remember and you will want to come back year after year!!

Family Getaway

Perfect location in OOB away from all the hustle and bustle. Apartment A was clean, spacious, and inviting. We enjoyed our beach getaway!

Our happy place

It was great!

It was an amazing view! Great place to stay. The only confusion was what unit and door to use, but called the owners and they answered and explained it no problem. Everything was great!

Perfect Spot!

Location, location, loacation

It was preseason, not everything was open, but the weather was great and it was a perfect spot for walking and relaxation on the beach, and for early risers some beautiful sunrises.

Perfect Location

Nice quiet stretch of beach. I was even able to do yoga on the beach each morning! We stayed in the 3rd floor and it had an excellent view of the sunrise from the kitchen or the deck. My 2 year old daughter had a blast!

Lovely spot right on the beach

Both Sue and this property were great! Sue was readily available to answer all of our questions both before, and during, the trip. The place itself was very clean when we arrived and the view is spectacular. Located on the top floor of a house right on Old Orchard Beach, we enjoyed the quick walk down to the beach each day, the view of the fireworks happening at the pier on Thursday, and all the great food spots located very close by. I highly recommend this rental to any family looking to have a quality beach getaway! We'll definitely be returning in the future.

Wonderful!

We just got back from an amazing stay at 40 Wavelet! Upon arrival, first thing we noticed is how nice and clean the unit was! Can't say enough as this property, it has such a wonderful vibe, the property was well maintained for a rental, and the view from the unit we stayed in (top floor) was incredible! Everything is close by, walk to the pier yet you are away from the crowds! Loved the fireworks from the beach! We also loved going to Sheila's in the morning and the owners were kind and friendly. We took a ride to have lunch on the ocean in Biddeford and hit up Bayley's for lobster dinner! Do try the lobster bisque if you go! We even brought some home! We hope we are fortunate to come back again but only if we can stay here! Thank you for the wonderful stay Susan!

Home Away From Home with so Much More!

We decided at the last minute to take a week's vacation while moving our son into college in Portland, ME. It was difficult finding a place at that late date, but thankfully we found this gem, and the host was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. She went above and beyond, making sure we had the perfect stay! I have to limit my time in the sun, but that was no problem as the two large windows in the kitchen brought the ocean and beach right to our door. The deck was so relaxing and was the perfect place to enjoy the rare Blue Super Moon. The living spaces and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. However, if you are inclined to be adventurous, there is so much to do in the area. Best of both worlds! Thank you for sharing your house with us!

Let's Start with What's Good

This apartment is right on Old Orchard Beach, far enough away from crowds and close enough to walk to restaurants and stores if that's your thing. The apartment is spacious and has a lovely deck on the top floor where you can sit in the sun and feel the ocean breeze. The sound of the surf is your background music. Can't beat it. It was quiet and felt safe. It is a 3rd floor walk up, so that's a big consideration when renting. Some things I wished I'd known before renting: While the place smelled and felt clean at first, it looked like no one had done anything about spiders in a long time. Lots of them in every corner of the ceiling. There were items missing that I felt should have been there like a sharp knife, clean sponges, extra garbage bags. Some general disrepair like a slow bathroom sink, AC unit that leaked puddles on the floor, disconnected stove burners, broken Venetian blinds and a curtain rod that fell out of the wall. The place lists 2 parking spaces, but we really couldn't fit 2 SUVs in the space. It's really a space and a half. Fortunately, we were able to find parking nearby, but it was not always easy. A huge puddle in the deep depression in the parking space was hard to avoid and it never seemed to dry up. In the end, we had a lovely week and found plenty to enjoy here. Just wish things were in better shape.

nice place...poor communication

A wonderful location on the beach... Poor communication from owners...kitchen sink, pretty much the first thing we used, leaked through to the kitchen floor and was unusable...with no response until the morning we washed dishes in the bathroom sink... The sink was fixed the next morning. Additional questions on the use of deck chairs and the internet went unanswered for 24 hours. The place is nice...however, if you rent out a place, be responsible to your guests..."I didn't have my phone" (really?, nowadays?), is not acceptible...

Great place to disconnect and unwind

Our stay was for 3 nights and we were two couples. Being on the beach was what we wanted and the view was spectacular! The unit had everything we needed and located to some great restaurants if you love seafood. A couple of points I would mention is that the unit doesn’t have a dishwasher and the bedroom with the two beds may be more suitable for kids than another couple due to the room having 3 beds, and feeling squished. Again, for two couples, the main bedroom is very nice and spacious compared to the second. Don’t forget to bring up the heat during those cold nights as the bed covers may not be enough for you. Would definitely come back with the family.

Can’t get any closer to the beach!

We had a wonderful stay at Susan’s property! The apartment was clean, comfortable and as described. Having our morning coffee on the deck just steps from the water was a perfect start to every day. Beds were comfortable and we felt very much home.

Terrific location and accommodation

Perfect views of the ocean from deck and kitchen. Far enough from Old Orchard Peer so quiet beach. Unit is well apppointed. And the owners were responsive. We will be back.

Quant getaway

This unit is clean and beautifully decorated. Best location for sunrise photos. If you desire the smell and sounds of the ocean, this is were you want to be. Owners easy to work with. Would highly recommend

Beach Getaway

The apt. had an absolutely fantastic view and the beach was superb- sandy and shallow with gentle waves-even enjoyed watching a couple of surfers and paddle orders. Plenty of opportunities for restaurant dining or take-out nearby!

Great beach house!

Our family of 5 had a great stay here! It was directly on a quiet part of the beach with beautiful views! The house was set up with cute beach themed decor and had everything we needed! Sue was so helpful, offering suggestions and making sure we had everything we needed!

Beautiful and Clean!

We had such a relaxing stay. We loved having our own porch on the top floor to enjoy sunrises and sunsets. The view from the kitchen was gorgeous. Check in was a breeze. We know it was the off season for OOB, but there was still plenty to do and many great places to eat within a 25 minute drive. Right on the beach and easy access to Portland.

Perfect R & R getaway spot minutes from Portland

My friend and I took a much needed girls trip to Portland, and after loosing two city-properties overnight, we expanded our search and found Sue's place. We're so glad we did! This is the perfect place to stay when you want to see some of Portland, but otherwise relax and reflect. Old Orchard Beach is wonderful in its own right--it has a boardwalk within walking distance, and wonderful restaurants. It's a really charming town. Walk the beach and gather shells in the morning, then hop in the car for 20 minutes and you're in Portland. Best of both worlds. The unit is right on the beach-your feet are on the sand in just a few steps. The view is fantastic and the unit has large windows that open to let in ocean breezes. It is a beautiful space, light and airy. White, grey and sand with aqua accents. Tasteful, comfortable beach-chic. There are two bedrooms, a comfy living area, large TV and a nice kitchen w/dining table, full-size range and fridge. You could cook a meal here, though we just made coffee. The bathroom was spotless and pleasantly appointed. We had a very minor issue and Sue sent someone right over to fix it. She was very responsive and checked in with us to make sure we were having a good time on our forays into Portland. I hope to bring my family back and stay at Sue's again. It was fantastic.

Oceanfront!

Our stay was great in Old Orchard Beach! The property was clean with a beach feel inside and free parking at the house. The views from the kitchen and the deck were superb! Your backyard was the beach! Being able to listen to the waves crash was so calming and relaxing and exactly what we needed. If you come during the off season though be prepared for a lot of places to be closed. We were fine with that since we wanted some peace and quiet and downtime and typically ordered delivery to the house. Susan was a great host, very responsive, and offered great local suggestions for us. We spent every morning walking the 2 miles down to the jetty and loved every second of it. We would highly recommend a stay at Susan’s place if you are visiting Old Orchard Beach!
