Sunny Mountain House on Dollar Hill. Lakeside of North Lake Blvd. with lake views from living room and master. Forested views from back of house with several acres of conservancy land. Walking distance (5-10 minutes) to Skylandia Beach and Park. One of the best beaches in Tahoe with pier, fine sand, southern exposure and picnic benches with BBQ pits on the bluff.

The North Lake bike trail starts two blocks from the house. Ride to Squaw Valley via the Truckee River Bike Trail, Tahoe City or Tahoma and Sugar Pine State Park. North Lake Mountain Biking easy access at Tahoe XC near by. If boating is your thing the Coast Guard pier with ramp is less then 0.5 miles from the house. Close to Squaw, Alpine, Homewood, Northstar and Diamond Peak.

This is a nice roomy house (1800 square feet) that is great for two families with kids or small groups. Generous size kitchen and large dining room table that seats 8. You can get around by bus or bike.

About John Martin

VRBO has changed their policies on a lot of items for owners. Namely they have unilaterally decided to remove all reviews that were not initiated through VRBO and move them to another area of the website under "Guest Comments from the Owner". Unfortunately for those that entered guest comments from other sources these are not counted as "reviews" and thus not searchable by the number of reviews. You will likely see this with other properties. I choose to use another website for property management due to its excellent features which allow me to manage my property year round. I am forbidden from listing that link her but will automatically send it to you should you send an e-mail inquiry. There are all of my reviews there which are completely legitimate. (I have to manually transfer to the into VRBO) Transferring my property management to VRBO makes no sense as I would loose all of my reviews and years of history which I use for accounting and marketing purposes.

Why John Martin chose Lake Forest

Tahoe City is the best location in Tahoe. The Dollar Point and Skylandia Park shoreline face south looking back on the west shore and Tahoma. The beach has fine sand and full sun year round. The location does not get as much snow as the west shore in the winter and has more daylight. The location is close enough to Tahoe City that you avoid the summer traffic on Hwy 89 and the winter traffic on Hwy 28. It is also a reasonable distance along the north shore as far as the Nevada State Line. You will find that you want access to Tahoe City for events, shopping and services. It is a short drive to town.

What makes this house unique

The House has a nice view of the lake. Pictures never do it justice. In the summer the lake is a mosaic of blues and the breeze buffs the lake. The house is on the lakeside of the main road. This makes for a relatively easy walk down to the park and beach. We make the walk a couple of times a day with our dogs. The beach is beautiful especially early in the morning or in the evening. At night in the hot tub you can gaze at the stars and look at the lights on the West Shore. After a day at the lake it is still with you.

Would definitely stay here again

Nicely kept cabin in a great location. All of us commented on how the place looked nicer than in the pictures. It was very clean and had a stocked kitchen with coffee, pots and pans, etc. Loved that it was a short walk to the lake, close to town (Tahoe City) and a short drive to Squaw. Only very minor negative was we wish there was more than one travel sized shampoo and conditioner. We had to buy some since we had 4 people. But overall, great stay and we look forward to the next time we can rent there.

Just a note to the owner that we couldn't get the toaster to work.

Great house, great neighborhood, great hot tub.

Everything was awesome, we even got to see some wildlife up close but from a safe distance. Love Dollar Point and walking the dogs all through the neighborhood. Super convenient to Safeway, Alpine and Squaw. We’ll be back!

Quiet, lake view property

Home was as advertised. Very quiet location with little traffic in the Dollar Point neighborhood near Tahoe City. We had everything we needed for a enjoyable stay. Great communication with owner. Several small things needed attention which we disclosed to owner. Steps leading to front door are fairly steep. We brought kayaks and bikes and used both every day at locations close to the house. We had a wonderful week and would stay again.
