Recently renovated and designer appointed, our storybook cottage hosts a group as easily as a romantic getaway for two.
The amenities begin outside where a circular driveway accommodates several cars. Our garage offers a 240 volt outlet for charging your Tesla, and a flagstone walk provides easy access to the front door. The vaulted great room is just one step up. Here a gracious fireplace and designer decor draw you in. Large windows provide views of Lake Sequoyah, the largest lake in the Highlands.
Prefer fresh air? Step into the adjacent screened-in veranda. Here, overstuffed wicker and a second fireplace beckon, especially nice for winter days or cool summer nights. There’s also a daybed for napping, a table for alfresco dining, plus that wonderful water view.
Back inside, the den offers a third fireplace, cable TV, and a fully equipped kitchen that opens to the living area (so the cook can be part of the fun). Here you can make a snack for 3 at the island, a meal for 4 on the veranda, or dinner for 8 in the great room.
Don’t feel like cooking? You can walk, or kayak, to the elegant “On the Veranda” restaurant—5 minutes on foot—or make reservations on Main St., a 4 minute drive.
Finally, after a day of shopping, dining, exploring nearby waterfalls and other nature activities, retire to one of Roostica’s three bedrooms—all with private baths.
The upstairs master offers a king bed with fireplace, sitting area, cable TV, private coffee station and water view.
For those who appreciate easy access, two main floor suites—one with twin beds, the other with a queen—await only one step up from the driveway.
The lower floor offers cable TV, Foosball, and other table games like ping pong. You’ll also find board games, books, puzzles, frisbees and more. With a twin size daybed and trundle, plus the basement half bath, this area is suited for young teens or children, with the added bonus of a full size washer and dryer for mom and dad.
Outside, a path winds gently through our fenced back yard to a private dock with kayaks, just across the road. Feel like cocooning? Log into Roostica’s internet, watch cable TV, or build a fire. Firewood is stacked on the patio.
Once inside, it doesn’t take long to realize that we love animals at Roostica, so we do consider small dogs — 30 lbs and under. (They can have the run of the place when you’re with them, but we ask you to please safely crate them when you’re not.)
Whether you’re looking for a cozy winter retreat, or cool summer fun, we think you’ll enjoy your stay at Roostica Cottage—and we’re looking forward to hearing about it.

“Definitely a winner in the Highlands!”
“My wife and I recently returned from a week long visit to Roostica. We’ve been in the Highlands many times but this was our first stay at Roostica. We loved it and would absolutely stay here again! The cottage is so well decorated and extremely comfortable for either a short or long stay. We both agreed that certain aspects of the home gave it almost a European mountain
cottage feel. Also, all amenities including WiFi and satellite TV worked with ease and performed with ease. We loved the wood burning fireplace in the main living room and really enjoyed the electric fireplace in the master as well. Great location too, just a couple miles, or about 4 minutes to down
Town Main Street in Highlands. The owners were great to deal with which is also a plus. So in summary, Roostica was a great home base for yet another wonderful visit to Highlands!”
Jennifer: “Thank you so much! We’re glad you appreciate that luxury European ambiance we strive for.”

“My girlfriends and I enjoyed a weekend getaway to Highlands and absolutely loved staying at Roostica Cottage. The online photos don’t do justice to the beautiful appointments and details throughout the home. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of space. While Highlands is fabulous to explore, we found
we wanted to spend most of our time in the home! (Now) I can’t wait to get back to my family of 6!”
Jennifer: So glad that we helped give 8 moms a much needed rest. (BTW—We find Roostica great for cocooning too!)
