Everything you need, but the plants and Windows were full of dust

  • 5 of 5

Overall experience I give a 9 out of 10. The only bad thing I can think of was the windows were really dirty and there was a lit of dust still on the plants and blinders

Amazing views! Great location. Nice, clean cabin.

  • 4 of 5

Our family of four truly enjoyed our stay at Dreamview! It really did have the best views of any cabin that we have ever stayed at in the area. The location was very convenient to Dollywood, shopping and restaurants in Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. Dreamview is well-maintained and clean. The hot tub was great, the beds comfy, and it suited our needs wonderfully. The TVs were very nice. We enjoyed playing pool and checkers up in the loft. The only somewhat negative things I have to say are this: 1.) The kitchen could use some updating and re-stocking. Having no disposal in the sink is kind of a pain. Also, it's really tough to load/unload the dishwasher as it completely blocks the sink when it is fully open. (Short people problems!) It would have been nice to have a Keurig coffee maker. There were not very many dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. It really wasn't a big deal to us as we were not cooking or eating much in the cabin. However, for someone that planned on doing more cooking there, you might find that you are missing some essentials. 2.) The bath towels were pretty small, thin, and rough. We brought our own beach towels, which we used for the hot tub. 3.) We could never find the balls to play foosball with. Again, not a huge deal. None of these "negatives," however, really impacted our enjoyment of our trip or this cabin. Our stay was delightful, and we would definitely stay at Dreamview again and recommend it to friends and family.

Great Cabin

  • 5 of 5

I had almost given up on finding a cabin because I waited so long to book one due to sickness in my family. I have never booked a cabin going through the owner and I was a bit nervous about this. However, I can honestly say I have never dealt with anyone as nice as Mrs. Mary, who is the owner. Everything was just as Mrs. Mary said it would be and we had a fantastic stay. The cabin is beautiful and clean. We enjoyed the amazing view and the laughter of the people having fun at Dollywood. We will rent this one again for sure! Thank you Mrs. Mary for sharing Dreamview but most of all thank you for your honesty!

A Nice Cabin with Fantastic Views

  • 4 of 5

We had a very enjoyable stay at Dreamview. Overall, it worked well for our family of five.

* The views are simply spectacular and the cabin takes advantage of that asset. There are lots of windows facing the mountains and the two decks are great.

* The location was great. It is super close to Dollywood (you can hear the steam train and see the coasters) and also close to the Smokeys (30 minutes) and Gatlinburg.

* The cabin is in good shape and everything is reasonably well maintained. This is still a cabin, though, so don't expect the Ritz Carleton.

* We really enjoyed the hot tub that looks out into the Smokeys.

* There are some nice anenities for the kids -- billiards, foosball, PlayStation, fast wifi, and cable tv.

* The property manager lives close by and was very responsive. She even made us a cake which the kids enjoyed.

There were lots of small, simple things that can be improved upon.

* The kitchen is functional, but missing some basics. We cooked a little and wish we had things like wash cloths and sponges, some more utensils, and a folding chair. It was a workable situation, but it could have been better.

* You'll have to take into account that the place isn't huge. So if you have a group more than two people, someone will have to sleep in the loft and there isn't a ton of privacy. Once one person wakes up, it is hard for others to stay sleeping. You also can't do laundry or run the dishwasher at night.

* The hot tub is great, but we didn't have enough towels.

* Please get better toilet paper! :)

Stop looking, you won't be disappointed!

  • 5 of 5

We looked at A LOT of cabins before we booked Dreamview. Not to sound like a broken record, but the cabin is most appropriately named! The interaction with Mary leading up to our stay was great. This seemed less like a business transaction, and more like two friends talking about the use of the cabin. For our family of four, this was the perfect size, and if needed you could accommodate a few more. The walk out decks on both levels offered breathtaking views. The hot tub is a great place to enjoy the view, and I recommend bringing a personal cooler so you don't have to get out to enjoy your favorite cold beverage. The upstairs is a great hangout for the kids, but could also serve as the master, although my wife and I chose the downstairs bedroom for a little more privacy. The kids made use of the cloth checker board on the table, and the foosball and pool table got some use, too. The charcoal grill/smoker has a deep bottom to it, so for those of you (like me) that haven't used charcoal in a while, this one requires you to "pile it high" to get the heat where you need it. Once I adjusted for it, our grillables were just fine. That's the other thing, if you don't want to hassle with the strip, there is a Food City only 3/10 of a mile once you get to the parkway. We loaded up on food and ate most of out meals in the cabin because everything you will need is in the kitchen, which saves a lot of money. There are many things to do in the area, but we enjoyed Clingman's Dome specifically, as the view from 6,644 feet up is amazing. Once you enter the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, it's about a 20 mile ride to get to the parking area. From there, you have to walk the last 1/2 mile, where the elevation rises 330 feet. Needless to say, it is a workout- but worth the effort. My 13 year old really wanted to go to Dollywood, so my advice would be if you can get discount tickets through AAA, to do so in advance. The AAA website was down the morning we went so we had to pay full price. Nonetheless, it is a beautiful park and rides for all levels of enjoyment. The Island is a nice area to walk and enjoy a lot of free entertainment, i.e., the dancing waters, and if you want a Cheeseburger in Paradise, Margaritaville is there, too! Being from Ohio, we chose to expand our horizons and ruled out NC, SC & Florida, because that is all the kids have known for 15 years. We are so glad we did Pigeon Forge, and would highly recommend it. Dreamview is the perfect place for it!
