Recently remodeled 4 bedroom 3 bath home on second row with nice view of Ocean. House has two living areas - one upstairs and one down . Short walk to beach via beach walkover. Seven blocks from downtown Folly Beach, and less than 10 miles from downtown Charleston.

House has 6 televisions with Cable, WiFi, and two king bed master bedrooms with bath/shower in addition to a separate hall bath. The other 2 bedrooms have queen bed. The upstairs bunk shown in pictures is now a queen. Please note jets in Jacuzi do not work

I would say the two best features are the front porch, and the fact that there are two separate living areas, allowing multi generational families two spaces to congregate.

Another great visit!

This was our 4th visit since March, 2017. We like the location of the house and it’s proximity to the beach as well as the ocean view from the porch. The houses layout is great for our group of friends. We like to cook so we appreciate well stocked kitchen. The owner has been very responsive if we have had any issues or comments regarding the house. We can’t wait to come back again!

Great Stay for a Group

Jimmy was a wonderful host. His house was spacious, across the street from the beach, and exactly what the pictures showed! Jimmy was very friendly and available when we had any questions. A Bit Worn

Given the pictures and description, we expected a well maintained and neatly prepared property. The railings and screen doors were reinforced with 2x4's, dowels and tape (obviously not in the pictures). Our intention was to have family with toddlers join us. It is unfortunate that the house would not be "toddler friendly" given stairs, railings, and layout. We uninvited our family...very disappointed! The yard was fenced (dog friendly), but was littered with branches and brush and other leavings that required careful supervision of curious pets. The grill was filled with ash and there was old charcoal droppings in the yard (dogs explore). It did not help that there was also construction (new pool) going on next door (not the owners fault). Finally, our car was broken into and change stolen (again not the owners fault). While in the area, we explored other properties for future rental, and found a number of modern and well maintained offerings at comparable prices. On the whole, this property did not meet our expectations and we chose to leave early.

Owner's Response: When my wife and I started this 11 years ago I thought I would have to deal with this on a regular basis. I was pleasantly surprised to find that almost all feedback was very positive. In addition to the written reviews ( only about 10 % of our guests write a review) I typically meet our arriving guests and wait as they see the house for the first time. Over and over I hear that this is nicer than expected. It is clear in the VRBO pictures and description that this is an older house. We put money into it each year, replacing one of the beds with a new bed and mattress this year, for example. A couple of years ago we replaced both of the air conditioning units proactively before either one of them had broken because we know how important air conditioning is to a summer beach rental. Responding to the specifics: (1) Condition of porch rails: We do maintenance each year. For example, the entire front stairs were replaced last year. This year we added supports that were unpainted during this stay ( painting was done last week before I saw this review). I don't know what dowels and tape refers to. (2) The house is not toddler friendly due to stairs and railings- All of this is described accurately in the VRBO listing. Our most typical guest group is a 3 generation family vacation (grandparents, parents, children). My own 5 grandchildren stay at the house regularly. (3)The yard was littered- It is true that weekly yard care is not done in the November-February time frame. The live oaks are dropping leaves this time of year. As it happens yard care began again just after this group left ( before I saw this review). (4) Car broken into- This is the first time we have had any type of break in or vandalism. This type of thing is usually kids looking for unlocked car doors and looking for cash. In summary this house is accurately advertised. We as owners are at the house on turnover day with rare exceptions to ensure it is thoroughly cleaned, which we found in our past rental experiences is the most common complaint. I believe this guest did not do his homework and expected a newer house. Please compare this review with the others in deciding if this review is valid.

Enjoyed our stay

Our stay at this rental was very enjoyable for all of us. The home was clean. The only thing that needed attention was the oven. It needs to be cleaned. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen utensils. The rental was located close to Charleston.

Great house, great location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The house is laid out very well for a family vacation with everything you need. The owners were great, they even shifted the date of our visit when I made a mistake. I highly recommend this.
