Enjoy the view from this 'Quiet' 3rd floor Deluxe Condo directly onto the beach (You are just a short walk to the sand!). Sit out on you private patio and enjoy an early sunrise or watch the stars at night.

There is plenty of elbow room (1116 sq ft) in this 'Newly Renovated' condo. Starting with a large den with its New couch(with hide-away bed), to the dining area, and finally an oversized kitchen. The unit has 2 large bedrooms. The Master bedroom faces the Gulf of Mexico and has a 'NEW' King Size bed. The 2nd bedroom has two double beds{Also New!).

There is also a queen size fold out couch in the den. Both bedrooms have a full bath. There is Cable TV (with HBO) in each bedroom and in the den. There are 3 pools each with it's own hot tub available at no charge. The complex has all the amenities of home with coin operated wash machines and dryers.

If you get tired of just hanging around the pool and beach try Schliterbahn Water Park. It's just a few minutes away and is GREAT FUN for ALL ages!!

About joe Sternberg

I've been coming down to South Padre Island for years and finally bought a condo @ Suntide II in 2000. After a few years of enjoying Suntide II I bought this condo @ Saida II. I always liked this complex with it's large secure grounds, 3 pools, tennis courts and closeness to the Beach! In fact when I was looking around I really fell in love with it because it reminded me of my Suntide II condo; just on a bigger scale. It's turned out to be a great 2nd location and very well run property!

joe Sternberg purchased this condo in 2005

Why joe Sternberg chose Gulf Coast

Saida II & Saida I are the smallest & closest to beach! Plus you just can't beat the Saida complex for it's location and fun atmosphere.

What makes this condo unique

What can I say. Saida is a resort on SPI 2nd to none. If you are looking for large grounds with 3 pools, tennis courts and closeness to the beach as well as shopping and restaurants you can't beat it!

The grounds were beautiful, and the condo was updated! If you have kids...caution!!

  • 2 of 5

This was our first time staying at the Saida. Loved the security of gates and a guard on duty 24/7. The shower curtain in the guest bathroom didn't reach to the bottom of the shower, so with little ones be ready to mop up water! The beach was fantastic and the banana rides and parasailing were walking distance. After spending all day at the beach, we love to go to the pool and relax in the shade. The pool water was extremely warm, not refreshing at all. On the first day there, the kids were allowed to splash and jump in the pool. You know boys love to show their mom's all the cool jumps. For the remainder of our trip, a security guard proceeded to tell us there was no diving allowed. I reassured the security guard we were not diving, but they were doing other jumps (due to depth of pool). He repeated his "no diving," to which I confirmed with him there was to be NO jumping at ALL! There were no pool rules that stated this ANYWHERE! After this happened we were continuously watched like a hawk. Other parents were told the same thing, and many families just left the pool. How disappointing, that you can't have fun while on vacation. Plus, all the $$$$ you just spent to stay at this place?! This left a lot of parents in a tiff. Needless to say, this place isn't for us!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, this is actually a great review that points out some of the advantages of renting at Saida Towers. First off, I do want to apologize that the shower curtain was not set properly. I have taken this opportunity to mention it to our management company so they can do some retraining and make sure it does not happen again. The security guards have a very difficult job but the safety and security of vacationers is always the most important. As a parent myself I know how excited children can be while on vacation and I have been to pools that do not have any security. I must say, my family and I, we much prefer pools with an active security presence. I am sure your children understood the limits and for safety were not diving head first into the pool, but the security guards are aware how social kids are and how it can quickly become a big splash party and cause issues for other vacationers. It is our goal to exceed our customers expectations, I am sorry we did not meet that for you. However, I am glad you mentioned how updated and beautiful the condo was. We have so many reviews that mentions how beautiful the condo is and how amazing the ocean view is from your private balcony. It was a pleasure to host you and your family, and aside from the guards enforcing the rules it look like you and your family had a wonderful time. It would be a pleasure to host you and your family again. Thank You Joe

Beautiful location and resort

  • 5 of 5

This is our third year at Saida and the second year at this condo. We have so much fun here and have made many friends with other winter Texans. This condo has lots of room and wonderful view. Master bedroom has very good mattress on king bed. Only one sink in bath so my husband uses and I take all my female junk into other bathroom where shower is very new. Plenty of closet and dresser space. You may want to bring some extra hangers. Nice flat screen TV's in both bedrooms and living room. Comfortable sofa and love seat with couple of chairs that are OK. I would suggest replacing with nice recliner.

Dining room table seats six and counter with four stools. Kitchen has nice working appliances and tons of dishes, casseroles, pots and pans, glasses and silverware. I always bring a couple of my own sharp knives for paring and chopping as we cook a lot and like nice sharp knives. I also buy a few plastic dishes with lids for leftovers. Very nice balcony with more than enough chairs - balcony is very private and shaded which I thought I would prefer sun but those that have sunny balcony say it is too not. I tend to sit on public patio down by pool all afternoon and sometimes take a chair outside in sun on entrance side of condo. Many people sit out there in evenings and visit. We have started playing pickle ball on the tennis courts with some other people here and have a good time. There are many good restaurants here. The grounds are kept very clean workers are always cleaning and trimming etc. The last two years weather was great but 2014 here as well as everywhere was not the best but we still will be back next year. The only thing I would do if I owned would be have the tile steam cleaned. The tile has a textured surface and dirt is hard to get out mostly around edge of rooms. I have heard others talk about how shabby some of their condos are and am happy we have this one. If you are looking for a fun and relaxing place to stay this is the place.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review. I work very hard to keep my condo/home away from home in the best possible condition I can. Every time I'm on the island I always try my best to look at it with my guests in mind and replace, fix and update. It's nice to hear back from my guests. Thanks again Joe

Great Condo and Location - Close to the Beach and Shopping

  • 5 of 5

Our family really enjoyed our stay. The condo is very clean and feels fresh. The pictures you see are accurate. The owner was great to work with and responded quickly. He works with a local rental propery management company so the whole transaction was easy. Also if you have any problems while you are there you just call the property management company and they take care of it right away. The condo has all tile floor which I really like when you are the beach. The view is amazing and it is so close to the beach. When you stay at South Padre Island you want to stay close to the beach so the walk is not too far. I thougth I wouldn't like the third floor, as I like first floor, but prefered being higher up because of the view. Getting in and out of the condo to the beach is no big deal. The kitchen is really nice/updated and you can tell the furniture in the living room is new. The kitchen does have limited cooking items so if you like to bake, bring your own items. Other than that the condo has everything you need to enjoy your stay. I felt very comfortable and safe. In addition, the walls are thick because you don't hear your neighbors. If I return to South Padre Island, I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful unit - Great time in S. Padre!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in 3 different Saida units over the last several years. I always try to reserve that complex because I love the location, privacy, proximity to the beach, and have had great luck with the units. We recently stayed in this unit for a long weekend. We had 2 moms and two daughters - and we all had a fabulous time! The renovated unit is done really nicely - really no complaints. It doesn't have that typical 'musty' beach condo smell, and everything worked fine. The new kitchen is beautiful and roomy and we enjoyed the appliances, the breakfast bar, and we cooked up some great meals there!

Some things to know: there is only 1 wine glass, so if you have more than 1 wine drinker, bring a few of your own (or buy them for $1.20 each at the Blue Marlin grocery). Also, all of the plates and cups are glass (breakable), so if you have young children that you don't want walking around drinking from glass, bring some plastic cups with you. Also - there is a coffee maker, but no coffee filters, so I had to buy a packet of them (which I left for the next guy). You might want to bring a few from home if you want coffee on the first morning! These are such small things - it would be great if the wine glasses and some plastic cups/plates could be added - but really no big deal.

Also - the VRBO listing says it has wireless, but when we got there we found out we had to plug into an ethernet cable to get internet service. There were wireless networks available, but no information saying which one to use or the password for it - in fact the sign on the way says there is NO WIRELESS. Again, no big deal, but maybe the listing shold be updated (or the sign inside the condo if there really is wireless).

This is a beautiful unit which I would be really happy to stay in again. Everything was decorated & maintained beautifully - and the location is just the best.

Looking forward to the next time!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review. I've done a lot of work over the last year and I'm glad it's starting to show. Sorry about the wine glasses.I try my best to keep as many glasses, plates etc but more often than not they grow legs? I'll ask the property manager to pick some up ASAP. As far as wireless goes there is high speed, but someone stole the wireless modem and all we had to replace it with was one that you need to use an Ethernet cord. However, the whole property is supposed to be going wireless soon from what the manager told me. Thanks again for the review.

Spring Break 2011--WONDERFUL CONDO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

The condo is large, clean, and beautiful!! It is located in an awesome location on the island in an immaculate facility! We travel 4-5 times a year staying in different places and condos, so we do know nice condos.

We were there on the 2nd week of Spring Break and the staff kept everything at an acceptable level even for families!

The contact with the owner and the Padre Island Rental was very easy and pleasant. Be sure to take advantage of the daily towel exchange, that is a wonderful service!

I would reccomment this condo to anyone wanting a wonderful, relaxing get away. The previous person that left the review should go back, the granite counter tops, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and wonderful location (not to mention the beautiful beach and pool views) made our trip!

Thanks!

I'll start with the positive comments. The owner and management company was responsive and professional during the reservation process. I totally agree with the description that this unit is very quiet. It overlooks the Gulf rather than the large pool. Oftentimes, it's hard to enjoy those afternoon naps due to the noise of the resort. That's not the case with this unit. Even the view from the unit is beautiful! Also, the unit is reasonably spacious for a family of five.

As for the negative comments...This resort is at least 25 years old. The units are individually owned, therefore, some are nicer than others. As for this unit, it is described as "newly renovated." The only newly renovated areas that I can see are the bathroom vanities. Although the vanities are nice, they are small and unfunctional. As for the kitchen, it is original and is dire need of remodeling. The painted cabinets are worn and dirty. The grout in the tile countertops is stained. Only the two small burners on the stovetop even work. The kitchen is equipped the the bare basics. No wash cloths, towels, cookiesheets, baking pans, etc. We went to use the toaster this morning and it "blew" sparks and smoke. The dishes and utensils were not clean, so I had to run everything through the dishwasher.

Other than the bathroom vanities, both bathrooms are original. My boys won't even use the shower in the small bathroom. It's moldy and dirty. The condo has tile throughout which I always prefer over carpet. However, the tile needs a good scrubbing...it's filthy. The baseboards are dirty. The condo needs paint desperately. The furniture throughout the condo looks like hand-me-downs. The living room furniture is dirty and threadbare. The sleeper sofa is horrible. Even my 11 year old son is complaining. The mattress is very thin and lumpy, and you feel every spring. In the second bedroom, the chest drawers won't close properly and the ceiling fan sounds and looks like it's going to fly off the ceiling. The master bedroom furniture looks straight out of the early 80s. The condo description says that HBO is available in the condo, but we can't find it.

In the end, I think the Spring Breakers "broke" this condo! We won't be back.

Owner's Response: I want to thank you for your review. I must admit that I haven't done much to this condo since I purchased it a few years ago and there were definitely some things that needed to be attended to! However, after your review this summer I put the wheels in motion to "Really Clean the Condo Up". First of all I have completely Painted the Entire Condo. (Walls, ceilings, baseboards, trim & doors etc.) I have replaced the old furniture in the den with a brand New Couch, New Love seat\Sleeper (With New Mattress) & New Chair. I also completely remodeled the kitchen with all new Wood Cabinets, New Glass Top Stove, New Dishwasher, New Microwave and "Beautiful New Granite Counter Tops with an Under-counter Stainless Sink"! Also I had a steam cleaning company come in and completely clean the tile floors. I have also cleaned up both bath rooms and repaired the wall in the 2nd bathroom. (I didn't realize it was damaged.) These are just the Main Items I addressed. There were many smaller things that were replaced cleaned or repaired also! If you have any comments or questions please feel free to contact me. I think anyone renting my condo will find it "TOP NOTCH" since the Work this Fall! Thanks Joe
