Offering 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, this lovely cottage has the charm of a mountain getaway with all the modern conveniences to make your stay perfect. Vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan make this cozy cottage feel roomy yet inviting. The kitchen features honed granite countertops and stainless steel appliances including a gas range. The living room is the perfect place to relax after an afternoon hike or trip to the local pub. Both bedrooms offer comfortable queen sized beds and en suite baths, with the master bedroom providing access to the deck. Take in the outdoors from the oversized covered deck with plenty of seating and views of Cashiers Lake and Whiteside Mountain. The deck flows easily to a stone patio with a fire pit area for cool evenings where you can roast marshmallows with the kids or gather with friends and sip a glass of wine.

We enjoyed our stay especially the comfortable porch to unwind and take in the views of nearby hills. Its fast wi-fi in these mountains is a treat. This location is convenient to everything, between Highlands and Sapphire with plenty of things to do for everyone. If someone enjoys walking, nearby Fairfield Lake has smooth path along the lake, mostly shaded, very comfortable to walk on. The host is most responsive and caring from the time of booking to the end of stay. We are thankful the host made his house available for us to enjoy.

We stayed for 10 nights this August. The house was great. It was very clean and had just about everything that we needed. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. The only thing I would point out is that the house is right on Highway 107 (at times a very busy road). We got used to the noise and it calmed down at night. It would have nice to have known that beforehand.

perfect mountain getaway!

My wife, daughter and I loved our stay at "The Blue Canoe" mountain cottage over Labor Day weekend! The home was recently completely overhauled with accents of whitewashed wood, rustic chic decor, and brand new appliances. The hosts/owners were the most accommodating and thoughtful of ANY of the many vacation rentals I've stayed in- bottle of wine as a welcome gift, fresh flowers, board games, books- just to name a few touches they indulged us with. This cottage is in a perfect location- an easy walk down a parallel gravel road to the main highway leading to Cashiers, so you can relax and enjoy the short 5 minute walk to the village green. What a great way to spend a long weekend and forget about our worries at home. Thank you!

Perfect little cabin in Cashiers

This adorable little cabin was absolutely the perfect spot for our family vacation! The photos were exactly what you got! Clean, uncluttered, nicely stocked kitchen, and great central location right off the highway with an amazing, large deck. We felt so at home at The Blue Canoe during our week long stay. Convenient, large, well stocked grocery store about a mile away and kitchen roomy and easy to cook in. Easy drive over to High Hampton, which is an absolute gem!! My favorite surprise was the abundant natural light and beautiful views off the two sets of French doors from the family room! The deck’s couch and rocking chairs were the perfect spot to drink our morning coffee while looking out at the view of the lake beyond the little cabins behind us. We used the washer/dryer & the BBQ, so convenient! Plenty of towels, good bedding, ceiling fans in both bedrooms and on the deck! We will definitely be back!!

The Blue Canoe…Excellent!!!

The Blue Canoe was an excellent place for my wife and I to stay while visiting Cashiers and surrounding area. The property was clean, comfortable, and David was a great host. We liked being close to the restaurants and shopping in Cashiers, and it was quiet when we were home in the evening. There’s a spacious deck with a beautiful view at the rear of the Blue Canoe and a short walk out the back door is a lake and fire pit. All in all this was a great place to stay.

Spotless, like new and well-appointed home. A perfect location to walk to town and spectacular waterfall hikes a short drive in every direction. The house is great, but it is back porch and mountain view that makes this place so special. Dave was a warm and responsive host.

Cabin near everything!

The Blue Canoe is perfect for one or for two couples. The kitchen is 'just like home', with plentiful prep space and large island for everyone to help or socialize. The best part of our stay was sitting on the oversize deck at all times of the day and well into evenings, enjoying the great view of Whiteside Mtn! The dining table is really only sufficient for two people, perhaps something could be done to improve? We didn't mind, as weather was perfect so we took every meal onto the deck. Maybe provide a table there? There's plenty of room, even with the four (wonderful) Adirondack rockers. David was a perfect host, great communication.

Fantastic location in downtown Cashiers within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The Blue Canoe is clean and welcoming and has all the amenities. We stayed for an entire month to get out of the heat and didn’t want to leave.
