The cabin was absolutely beautiful. It was homey. I had all the amenities that we needed. The neighborhood was quiet. I spent time with my husband and my grandchildren and you're having an amazing time.

Thank you for your review! We’re very happy that you were pleased with your stay.
Great weekend. Close to Sylva. Cabin was very clean and simple. Just what we needed. The kitchen is basic but worked for us. A touch of charm and a bit nostalgic. The cabin was fine for us because we had teenagers that all slept downstairs together. Note the stairs are wooden and steep to basement where several queen beds are. Also there is a door to the outside down there. I only note that if you have older adults or young kids. Screened in porch was nice in the morning for coffee. Thank you!!

Very nice location. Damage from Hurricane Helene made the trek there less than ideal but you can tell they are working. Fireplace wasn't in service which was not great but the property was clean and homey.

Great place to stay. Very secluded. We loved the area. Driveway up was a bit treacherous, but we come from the flattest part of Ohio so maybe that's normal around there. Already trying to come up with a reason to go back.
We came from Florida for a long weekend getaway with extended family, including small children and an infant. The cabin was as described and comfortable for all. Accessible to the lovely small town of Saluda, and an easy ride to Hendersonville and Asheville shopping, restaurants, and attractions. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Jerald, thank you so much for the 5-star review! We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay at Bear Creek Cabin. We hope you're doing well, and Yonder can't wait to see you again!
Great location. The house was clean and well equipped. House was located close to hendersonville but far enough away that it was still in a quite area. Trails for hiking are nearby also. The only downside was it was rainning the first day and the mattress was a little more firm than i like.

Stephen, thank you for the 5-star review! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Bear Creek Cabin. Hendersonville is such a great town to visit--we love the historic charm of downtown :) We hope you're doing well, and we welcome you back to this or any other Yonder home!
Don’t have much to say. We didn’t do much at the place we only slept there. Got back late nights and left early morning’s but it was a cozy little place.

The cabin was very clean and roomy with a nice layout. The surrounding wooded area was cool and quiet. The cabin could use a few updates in the kitchen but it had most of the amenities for a comfortable stay. DirecTV is no longer available. You must stream whatever service you subscribe to in order to watch TV. The only real disadvantage was the state of the gravel road leading up to the cabin including the driveway. It was rutted from rainfall and very steep. If you drive a car be aware you may scrap as you use the driveway. This is why we gave the location a 3 out of 5. Overall a very enjoyable property to rent.

Good location.
House is good for groups of up to 10. Had some issues a/c froze up due to filters to mbeing changed an obviously broken chair, lightbulbs needed to be changed, cleaners left cleaning supplies in upstairs bathroom which needs shower valve replaced. Once home I notified the property manager Melanie, she stated that he cabin has had back to back guest since the spring. She also stated she would be glad to refund $100 for our troubles, we never received it. I had to email her to refund the security deposit. We were not aware that there had been cats in the home, our grandson suffered from this lack of information. There is a dehumidifier in the down stairs bathroom and the door in front of the toilet must be kept open at all times. A few folding chairs would be a great idea since the dining table only seats 6. The driveway was a bit washed out so one of our vehicles bottomed out when pulling up in the driveway. It’s close to Pearsons Falls which was nice. You can hear rushing water in the early mornings which was nice.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with Vrbo viewers. As you know we have already discussed these issues, most of them minor. The cabin has had back to back bookings since the spring-probably because it's only $175/night, will sleep 10 people and is within walking distance to the Pacolet River and many hiking trails. The rate reflects some of the issues that we know are on-going, like the driveway (which is scraped once a year but we've had heavy rains) and the lack dining room chairs (our description details that information). The comment regarding the door to the area with the dehumidifier is.... We don't mean you LITERALLY have to leave the door open at all times, such as when you're using the toilet, just to REOPEN the door when you leave the bathroom. The house is pet friendly. If your grandson has such terrible cat allergies, maybe you should inquire if cats have been in properties before you book. We are not required to disclose that information. The owners of the cabin, who have the cat, had not been to the property since April. I do apologize your grandson had a rough time because of it.
My main objective to this rebuttal is to say our staff would have gladly came up and changed the air filter and the light bulb and fixed the chair if you had called us! But you did those things yourself, informed me after the fact and are now complaining about it and leaving a bad review. We also returned your damage deposit within the allotted time frame.
I want you to know that I gave you a 5 star review.

Delianys, thank you for your feedback. We are deeply sorry that your time at Bear Creek Cabin was less than exceptional. Our team will certainly investigate the issues that you’ve mentioned, and we will consult with the owners about possible home updates. The pet hair is a mystery—the home was vacant for nearly a week prior to your stay. Had we been notified about the bathroom leak, we would have gladly sent one of our Property Care Specialists to repair it. We hope you’re doing well, and we welcome you to explore any of our Yonder homes for your next mountain adventure! :)
Cabin was centrally located between great mountain towns where you could explore easily. Home was very well kept and clean, had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable

Home was everything we needed for our mini vacation in the mountains. Cell phone reception is slim to none which did not bother us at all. Location of the property was close to Saluda, Flat Rock, Hendersonville. We even visited Dupont Forest. The steep drive up to the house was the perfect touch to the mountain living experience. We wished the home provided open views of the neighboring mountains but we loved the secluded location.

Loved this property. Me and my husband as well as some friends stayed here to explore the mountains and celebrate our wedding pictures. The cabin was gorgeous and spacious as well as the mountains around us. The only thing we had trouble with was finding the driveway/getting up the driveway since it’s easy to miss. it rained the day we arrived so the dirt driveway had us spinning out tires a few short times but nothing too bad at all for us and WELL worth it. Property manager was easy to call when I got lost and was very kind and helpful. Well worth the price and would stay here again given the opportunity.

We loved the cabin! It had everything we needed and was located in a great location. There was good hiking spots not too far away. The satellite TV had many channels to pick from even though we only used that one day. The only suggestion we would make would be concerning the bed in the Master bedroom. It squeaks very easily. We set some clothes down on it and it squeaked. And any time we moved while sleeping. But otherwise it was great and would recommend it!

Joseph, we are so sorry that you had a less than pleasant experience during your stay at Bear Creek Cabin. Living secluded in the mountains often means lack of cell service, no matter which plan you use—we’re sorry if this was a deterrent, but it’s an unfortunate fact of mountain life. Much like cell service, TV service can also be finicky. Your suggestion for added curtains/shades in the living area is valued, and we will certainly pass it along for the owners’ consideration. We hope you’re doing well, and Yonder wishes you all the best!

Rotten floor boards, no water, no help
Not a very great experience. Horrible actually. We lost power and water due to a hurricane. We were informed that because it was an act of God we would not receive a refund. Fine. I can accept that but how about a little help? This property is out in the sticks. There were multiple downed trees between us and the town and all the cabin provided was one flashlight that barely shone light, a couple burnt ends of slender candles and a pack of birthday candles. We were without power or water for 3 days! We called twice in this time and no one so much as dropped off a gallon of water. I get that there was “an act of God” but for goodness sakes have a little concern for you guests trapped in the sticks. We were left with nothing but a charcoal grill to cook with. My husband went out onto the deck to grill some burgers and his leg fell right through the deck. The floor boards were completely rotten and just the pressure of his step sent his leg right through the wood. I called about this incident as well. We were told they wouldn’t charge us for the damage. Are you kidding me?!? My husband was injured on their rotten deck and they wouldn’t charge us? How generous. I could honestly get past some of these things if the management showed one iota of concern for their guests. We’ve done a lot of camping so we made it though but that was definitely the most expensive no power or water campsite I have ever stayed at. Also the bathrooms smelled terrible. The rugs should be tossed.
nice and clean. A bit dark because surrounded by trees. excellent location to hike to Pearson Falls. It would be nice to have the fireplace working and have a hot tub. Kitchen well stocked but overall, house could use a bit of a face lift.
Don't let this modest looking cabin fool you; it is huge on the inside! The main floor has a spacious well appointed kitchen that flows into an open dining/living room with high ceilings, lots of windows and wide screen porches. The lower level has a separate entrance, a good sized gathering room with wood burning stove and a huge bedroom with 3 queen size beds and bathroom; great for children or grandchildren. This comfortable, rustic and quiet location has easy access to Hwy 176.
