Great home!

  • 5 of 5

We had plenty of space for our 4 generation family reunion and the house had everything we needed. Location was great as well. Owner was very easy to work with and called me immediately to let me know of a left behind item and mailed back for us. Thanks for a great vacation home!

Power went out...there were no flashlights or candles...no extra blankets or towels in the house. The upstairs toilet wasnt working.

Owner's Response: Tina. It was unfortunate the power went out. Someone hit a pole on 101 and power was out in Cannon Beach, Seaside and Warrenton for one hour. There are flashlights in the utility room most cell phones have flashlights as well. The house is very stocked with towels and blankets. If you had needed anything during your stay, you should have called. My phone number is posted throughout the house with the message to call if you need anything. Regarding the toilet, you guest flooded the toilet by their own excessive use. It was so bad a plumber had to be called when you checked out to snake the line because you left it clogged. I did not charge you for this despite the damage you caused.

Seaside in September

  • 5 of 5

This place is so comfortable that you will think you are home. Everything you need in the kitchen. Plenty of space for everyone to sleep, eat, visit in a group or in small conversations. We loved it. There are stairs are you will need to consider that if you have older folks. There are no bedrooms on the first floor. Bathrooms on every floor really helps with a large group. Plenty of hot water. The deck in the backyard was used for grilling and the weather was good so it was used for a nice conversation area too. Parking in the backyard was great to be off the street but getting into the back from the small one-way street was a little difficult it someone was parked on the road near the driveway. We loved this place and the grandsons keep asking when they can go back to the "beach house". There were toys and book for little ones. It made it nice that we did not need to pack any. The beach is less than a block away that connects to the promenade. It was an easy walk to downtown shops. I can't say enough good things about it. We hated to leave.

If you're expecting perfection look elsewhere, BUT...

  • 5 of 5

...that being said, if you have a rambunctious group like my kids and grandkids, this was the perfect house for us. Everyone had enough space to co-habitate relatively peacefully. The furnishings are nice but you're not afraid to sit down or eat in one of the dens or living rooms. My only complaint was that the bedroom where my husband and I slept had the noisiest, stickiest door I have ever heard when trying to open it or shut it. It needs to be planed down somewhere so it fits in the door frame better. Also one of the bathroom doors does not lock so that could have been a problem, but we just made definite rules that if ANY door is closed, knock and wait for an answer before opening the door. We were the 4th house from the promenade so getting to the beach was easy and as busy as traffic is getting in Seaside, 12th Avenue has a traffic light on Highway 101 so getting to and from our house by car was relatively easy.
