Great location in the heart of Maggie Valley near the fairgrounds. The vaulted ceilings and custom finishes in this fully furnished cabin are impeccable. Super comfy 2 bedroom & 2 bath cabin with hickory hardwood floors, a wood burning fireplace and an amazing Mountain Laurel stairway.

Located in beautiful Dogwood Trails, a small mountain neighborhood with gated entryway, a rushing stream and pavilion with firepit for your use. There is a small mountain stream in the back yard. A hot tub has just been installed for your use.

Lazy Bear is a pet friendly cabin. Please inform owner of the kind of pet, the breed and the size/weight. Pet fee of $100 per stay, is "per pet." If you have more than one pet, a request for payment for the second or third pet will be sent after you book. Please declare the number of pets you are bringing when booking.

Only a 5 minute drive down the mountain on all paved roads to central Maggie Valley for area shopping and dining. Just a 10 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 30 minute drive to the entry of Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

Fast 200MB WIFI, YouTube TV. Central heat and AC, fully stocked kitchen, front and rear porches to enjoy the mountain scenery and cool mountain breezes. The cabin is clean and beautiful, very comfortable, and you will love the setting and location.

Maggie Valley stay

2nd time we have stayed at this cottage. Great location and layout, close to everything. Very clean with the benefit if a gas grill and hot tub. We gave it 5 stars.

Good Time

Close Yet Peaceful

This cabin is clearly older (no GFCI's in kitchen or bathrooms) but the neighborhood is small and very private. You are just a couple minutes from the middle of Maggie Valley, 45 minutes to Cherokee or Asheville, 15 minutes from downtown Waynesville, which is very nice. You can jump on the GSMNP road in Cherokee to head towards Gatlinburg or Cades Cove. Everything worked as advertised, and Jane, the owner, was always available and extremely helpful. The wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Cozy cabin with a convenient location to Cataloochee

Great little cabin with convenient location. We skied Cataloochee one day and took a day trip to Asheville the next. Easy access to both! The price point and location were the reason we stayed. Great value!

Answer to Prayer

My wife and I had rented a house in Sylva for the week. Without warning the heat stopped working and it was going to take days to fix. We contacted Jane Rolen (property owner) and she very graciously allowed us to stay in her rental in Maggie Valley for the week. It is a beautiful home in a great location. Very worth looking at when visiting the Maggie Valley/Waynesville area. Thanks Jane!

Great Escape

My family and I had a wonderful time. The place was awesome. Beat our high expectations. Will definitely stay here again. Cabin is more than big enough for a family of 4 and cozy at the same time. Couldn't have found a better place for our mountain escape. Close to skiing and tube world.

Perfect

Lazy Bear was more than we even anticipated. The cabin is beautiful, impeccably clean, with a well-stocked kitchen full of items you’d need for a stay. Relaxing in the hot tub while looking at a clear sky full of stars was worth every single penny to book this cabin. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone!

Nice and quite

I loved this place and how clean and quite. It’s close to the hikes, and Asheville as well. The only thing that I wished for is the cabin to be far enough form the neighbors but that was on me for not checking before actually reserving this place but I enjoyed this place and would recommend it.

Lazy Bear

Our stay overall was good. The cleaning crew didn’t get done a minute too soon. As we were checking in, they were leaving. The cabin is cute and cozy. The hot tub was the best part. We loved the fire pit although there were only 3 chairs (4 were pictured), and they sank into the ground when you sat in them. We didn’t like having to fool with taking trash off property the day we were heading home (yes we knew about this ahead of time, but it’s just silly that the cleaning crew can’t do this because you know they will have trash from cleaning!), and having to empty the dishwasher before we left meant we had to have everything clean prior to leaving which isn’t much fun when you’re packing and trying to get out by checkout time not to mention makes cooking breakfast the morning you leave not possible without having to wash all the dishes. That’s what the cleaning crew is for in my opinion. We did get to see elk the morning we left which was a nice surprise. Dog kennel nearby is a bit noisy at times, but that didn’t bother us too much. Loved having the backyard area for kids to run around and play in. Again, overall we enjoyed our stay other than the dishes and trash upon leaving.

Great place

Lazy Bear was a great treat for our escape from the Florida heat. The cabin was cozy and relaxing. Close to all the things we love and wanted to see. We would definitely keep this cabin on our top 10 for revisits to Maggie Valley.

Relaxing 14 Days

We stayed at Lazy Bear for 14 days. Beautiful setting and very comfortable. Convenient, and only a few minutes to Maggie Valley, waterfalls and trails. We are looking forward to returning in the fall or next summer.

Great place to relax

The house is very clean and set in a quiet neighborhood. It is hilly so if your on a bike be careful. It is close to Things to do. Overall it was a great vacation with friends, this is a nice place to relax.

Maggie Valley get-away

We look forward to coming back here again. The cabin was adorable and such a beautiful setting. The cabin was well appointed. The location made it so easy to get into town or take side trips to nearby towns. The property owner, Jane was very easy to communicate with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just what the doctor ordered, true rest and relaxation at Lazy Bear

We had a great time. Nice 4 day relaxing stay at the lazy bear. The star gazing from the hot tub was beautiful. Beds are super comfy. Lovely furnishings. Friendly accommodating owner. Quiet, relaxing, comfortable home away from home. Would love to stay here again.

My late husband and I lived in Western North Carolina for more than 20 years. My job moved me to Atlanta but I always considered WNC as home. I keep coming back -- until I found Lazy Bear and fell in love with her at first sight. It is so peaceful, love spending time here... and I know you will as well.

I still work and live in Atlanta, however I always look forward to coming home to Lazy Bear when I can.
