Isola is in walking distance and you will enjoy their great food as well .
Golf: There are two Golf Courses on the Island. One is a challenging 9-hole course open to the Public .Both Golf Clubs have a restaurant and a Pro Shop .

Established 1901 is a 9 hole course and you can actually walk to the course from the house.


Gardiner`s Bay and Country Club is a Private 18 Holes Golf and Country Club. One of the oldest in the USA!
Both Courses have amazing views of the Water !

Wonderful vacation

Eden Roc is a magical house. We all loved sitting on the beautiful porch looking at the water and the osprey. The decor is perfect and it's location in the heart of the village allowed us to walk to restaurants and shops. One of the best vacation houses ever!

Sweetest House, Kindest Landlady

This was a wonderful experience. I recommend this house to anyone who loves charm, history, and wonderful cozy casual chic. Everything was as represented on the website. Adorable house well located in the "center" of sleepy Shelter Island. The porch overlooks a park and the harbor. The old fashioned pharmacy across the street, was great for supplies, the morning paper, and a counter lunch or breakfast. A charming inn is across the road as well which was good for lunches and dinners with a view of the harbor. Also walking distance on the other side of the park there's another settlement with restaurants and shops. My landlady is the most considerate person I've ever encountered. On my arrival she had laid the table, stocked the fridge with salmon and chowder and desserts. The bedrooms are all charming and comfortable. The living room/dining room area is as comfortable as can be. The landlady anticipates one's every need and goes beyond the beyond to make her tenants happy. If you are looking for a pretty island away from the sometimes frantic Hamptons scene, you will love this. Tennis and golf are nearby. Swimming can be had at the sweet little beach club down by the ferry landing. I recommend bringing a car to explore some the islands other charms, and to breeze quickly across on the ferry to visit Greenport on the North Fork or the wonderful busier village of Sag Harbor just north of the Hamptons .

Calling Shelter Island home is a privilege . For me .. there is no place like it .
After living in Europe and many other beautiful places in the US it always feels like coming home when driving off the ferry .
It makes me happy to share this place with people who understand how special it feels to step back in time where a slower and more peaceful way of life still exists.
I spent most of my time with my pets and we welcome guests with well behaved pets as they are a part of the family . We enjoy cooking , gardening and spending time at the private beach club for a morning swim or just watching the sunset .
All of course , before having a cup of coffee on the glorious veranda at Eden Roc watching the sailboats passing by or watching dogs play in the park .

Eden Roc is centrally located in the quaint historic district called the Heights with walking distance to amenities like a private beach club golf and tennis .
You can enjoy enchanting walks through this special neighborhood with its beautiful historic gingerbread homes .
Eden Roc is situated in a spectacular park - like -setting with amazing water views . You can take an easy stroll through the park to the gourmet food store and cafe for fresh baguettes and croissants just across from the liquor store for a nice bottle of wine .

Restaurants ,book store , post office , soda fountain pharmacy and ferry are just steps away . You don’t even need a car as the Hampton Jitney bus or train stops right in Greenport . Just take the ferry and walk over to Eden Roc in the magical Heights .

The view , the location and the charm … Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller even stayed at the house !
