Incredible home tucked in a wooded setting. This house is located in Southwestern Michigan, lots of windows and wonderful views. Only 90 miles from downtown Chicago, and approx. 3 hours from Detroit. 3 blocks from Hagar Shores Beach and the blue waters of Lake Michigan. Only 9 miles from Silver beach, and Lions Park beach, 9.4 miles from Van Buren State Park beach, and 17 miles from South Haven beach. A delightful & peaceful lifestyle this is a great location close to local cafes, breweries and shops, near beaches and feels a world away! You will find dining, theatre, shops, entertainment, jet skiing, sailing, charter boats, fishing, biking, hiking, kids museum, art & music festivals, wineries, breweries, and festivals of all kinds, including: Blueberry/Venetian/Harbor/Iron Man/Peach and Ice Festivals... New Harbor Shores Golf Course, Michigan Hills and other great golf courses all within short miles away.
This 4 bedroom and 3 bath home sleeps 13 on wooded lot where you can enjoy awesome views of the woods and visit with friends and family in the open Living/Dining/Kitchen. Luxury accommodations include granite and stainless steel kitchen-fully equipped; bar/lounge area with wine & beverage cooler; large master bath with Jacuzzi tub, and tiled shower, 2 main floor queen bedrooms, 1 lower level full bedroom, and 1 full and twin bedroom. Front porch and side yard seating along with walk-out level screened porch with view of the woods, hot tub, and patio with fire pit. Master bedroom has skylight, private bath, and walk-in closet. Additional sleeping on full sleeper sofa, and twin day bed with pull-out trundle. Fresh and comfortable linens throughout. Large bathroom with extra large tiled shower in walk-out level.
This house is perfect for entertaining or a peaceful get away.

There are two locked storage closets in the laundry room which are reserved for the Owner and cleaning crew.

Quiet and tranquil neighborhood across M-63 from Hagar Beach Park.

Easy on / off access to I-196, Exit 7, or M-63 / Blue Star Highway.

Eight miles from Saint Joseph, MI (Silver Beach) and 17 miles from South Haven beaches. 35 minutes to Saugatuck. All beach towns offering unique shops, restaurants, great beaches and parks, boat rentals and more.

10 - 15 minute travel time to many local wineries and wedding venues: 12 Corners Vineyard, Blue Dress Barn, Vineyard 2121, etc.

We have parking for approx. seven vehicles maximum. No RVs or campers.

There is no public transportation near by.

Guests have the entire house for themselves.
Pet fees: $50 per pet for the entire stay, no more than two pets. Keep pet off our furniture. Let the owner know you are bringing pet prior to check in.
The ice maker in the fridge is currently not working. I will update once i have it fixed.
Minimum age of primary renter is 25

Maximum parking is seven vehicles / no campers. NO vehicles may be parked in the street.

Hagar Township `Good Neighbor` policy

Smoking prohibited inside the house; if smoking outside, do NOT throw butts on the ground. Dispose in trash or firepit.

$50 pet fee PER PET. Bag and dispose of any solid waste in grass or landscaped areas. If poop pick up is required after your stay, additional fees will be requested.

EVENTS MUST ADHERE TO ALL HOUSE RULES. No college parties.

We enjoyed our stay! The house was spacious and a great place to gather with family. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked, and communication from the host was clear and timely. There are a few minor updates that would make the house even better (some loose tiles, a broken toilet handle, etc.), but nothing that impacted our overall experience.

Great house to celebrate my daughter’s 17th birthday. The walk-out lower level, with screened in hot tub, living room, bathroom and bedrooms, was a perfect space for 6 teenage girls. The large upper living space was perfect for the adults and for all of us to gather and eat and hangout. Twelve total in our group and plenty of room for all of us. The walk through the woods to the beach was a fun adventure. Would stay here again. Highly recommend!

Getaway for my 73 birthday

We had such a great time!!! The house is so pleasant to hang out in. The main rooms are surrounded with windows. It almost feels like you’re in a treehouse. I would definitely stay here again even though it could use a little freshening up .

Great Trip

Great house for a large family. The host was very helpful and responsive. Nice proximity to the beach. I recommend Silver Beach about 15 minutes away, but our dogs loved the closer beach, Hagar. That beach was so nice and close , but my parents could not handle the almost 100 steps to get down. It was our first time to Lake Michigan and I would recommend this house! Just don’t go the Waterfront Restaurant unless there is a big sign reading under new management.

Thanksgiving family retreat

This is such a gorgeous , relaxing place to be especially for the holidays. We disconnected from everything and enjoyed playing cards and games and also hit up the casino with the whole family they all had a great time !!!

Beautiful property, beautiful setting!

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with our adult children, their spouses and our one year old twin grandsons. The week was fabulous! Close to stores, restaurants and the beach. We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. We had more than enough room. The owners were very responsive and thought if everything! They even had spices for cooking!!!! Just wonderful, I highly recommend this beautiful property!!!

Beautiful property in the woods with a quick walk to Hagar Beach. Our family and dog had an amazing stay. Very clean and spacious. We had more than enough space to spread out. The kitchen was nothing short of amazing. Cooked most of our meals in. A quiet relaxing vacation with family. We loved how close south haven and St Joe were. 15 minute drive north or south. Pros: My family really loved this place. The owners have thought of everything you could possibly need for your stay. It was perfect for all of us, and we especially enjoyed walking to the beach or driving to St. Joseph if we wanted to. Cons: The place could use a deep cleaning but was NOT dirty by any stretch. The bed in the master bedroom was not the most comfortable, and the sheets in the master bedroom were worn out and felt like sleeping on sandpaper.

Great spot for families!

Communication with the host was prompt, thorough, and above all, friendly. The home had several board games for the kids and several areas to gather. It was in close proximity to several beaches and was easy to find. If I were to offer any area of improvement, I would share that the house could have really used new bedding on most of the beds. The fitted sheets were very lose/worn, the comforters needed to be laundered, and the few pillows were very flat/old.

Amazing Home for Family Vacation

Our family of 13 booked this home for our family vacation and we had an AMAZING time! The house had a peaceful, treehouse feel to it. It had ample space to sleep all of us and the grill, firepit, and hot tub were awesome amenities! We also loved the private pathway that led to the street near the beach. The stocked kitchen was also sufficient, especially considering that we cooked all of our meals during our stay. Valerie was a great host. She always responded promptly and professionally and gave us all the information we needed from check in to check out. My family and I would definitely book this house again!

Family reunion

We appreciated that the house accommodated the 13 of us very nicely. The lay out of the house was excellent for all to find a niche to visit, play cards, do a puzzle, nap, etc. The short walk to Lake Michigan was very convenient even though the weather was cool, with some rain. The host was very responsive to questions and feedback about the condition of the house including a timely sending of the repair man to fix chair legs that came loose. Thank you to the hosts!

Great getaway but plan to wash your bed before you sleep in it.

This is a nice property with everything you need to relax. The hot tub was nice but it created a ton of foam which was weird for a hot tub. The beach was accessible by crossing a busy road but we didn’t mind that. The wood fireplaces were a great touch and there were plenty of places to lounge. The kitchen was pretty well equipped. The cleaning though— left a lot to be desired. We found candy wrappers in our bedroom, indicating it had not been vacuumed at all and it was clear they only washed the bed sheets as the duvets were dirty and stained.

Best stay ever!

I cannot say enough good things about this property! The house was beautiful and spacious. Valerie was extremely helpful and accommodating. We asked to have our wedding rehearsal dinner at the house and she had no hesistation what so ever! Our bridal party stayed the entire weekend and had plenty of space. My makeup and hair artists had plenty of space to work and amazing natural lighting. Everyone that came to the house complimented how gorgeous it was. Everything was clean and we had everything we could possibly need. The location was only 13 minutes from our venue so was perfect. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to host a large group of people!

Why they chose this property

We enjoy visiting other homes and especially those on or near Lake Michigan. On Valentines' Day 2019, we were on a 'date night', heading into St. Joe and spotted an open house. It was love at first sight! We enjoy hospitality and providing a space for people to gather with their families or friends and create memories and this house provides the perfect space!

What makes this property unique

We fell in love with this home the moment we opened the door! The space opens up into a vaulted ceiling with skylights and large windows span the back and sides, overlooking a wooded ravine. You have the feeling of being in a serene 'treehouse!' The space is open and great for entertaining. It is a short, wooded walk to a terrific local beach park that is kid- and dog-friendly. We love the three season porch downstairs where you can sit in the hot tub and hear the waves of Lake Michigan. (You can see a sliver of Lake MI from the upper level during winter; we're that close!)
