The Solvang Delfin Huset (The Dolphin House) once a former Danish Swimming club , Dance hall and Cocktail lounge for the local community back in the early 1960s ...has now been newly renovated and refurbished into a quiet serene 4 bedroom, 3 full baths and 1 1/2 bath vacation home right in the center of the City of Solvang. The house is 1 block from the Solvang Festival Theater and 1 1/2 blocks from the center of the Solvang Village. This is also a vacation home with single level ranch style living accommodations. This beautiful home is the ideal spot for family reunions, small weddings, overnight business workshops and/or retreats. Although, no longer a pool , we now have a beautifully manicured garden,water fountain , 2 large patio areas with a BBQ area and full bocce court which is the perfect place to relax during your stay in Solvang . Additionally, Wine tasting at many local award winning wineries is very popular here in our Santa Ynez Valley. Finally, we have great walking, biking ,hiking and shopping destinations. Or you want, simply relax at 1 of 3 local Solvang parks.
This famous house built back in 1960, spacious (3800 square feet), custom crafted Earl Petersen Architecture home boasts quality! The house sleeps 8, features 4 bedrooms, 3 and ½ bath, full laundry room,large fully furnished kitchen with an over sized island to sit and relax at. The dark walnut plank floors and cream colored walls provide a perfect back drop for the beautiful windows and comfortable furnishings. The large Brick fireplace and gorgeous wall sconces add warmth and elegance. This WIFI and cable ready home has a living room also known as the “Great Room” with hand carved beams and comfortable seating where guests can enjoy a glowing fire or sit at the “Viking Valhalla” Long Table and enjoy all family meals. This exceptional property is delightful. Once you arrive, you may find it hard to leave!

The house is amazing: gorgeous, large, and very well appointed. There is an additional casita with full kitchen, bedroom, 2 bathrooms. All rooms were very clean, well decorated, and every amenity we could ask for. The host was very welcoming and communicative, and made everything easy. The house even had beautiful Christmas decorations with a tree for us.

Nice Getaway with Family

Excellent!! What a beautiful home and piece of property within short walking distance to everything in Solvang’s adorable town. The kitchen was so well stocked with serving platters, baking and cooking items. A definite must stay if you are looking for a spacious, charming home with your own courtyard retreat. Delfin Huset

Our stay at Delfin Huset for our son’s wedding week was perfect. The home and grounds are beautiful, clean and convenient to Solvang. The kitchen has everything you need, the bathrooms have more than enough towels and the spaces are perfect for gathering family. Would love to stay there again

This home is so lovely! Plenty of space to spread out, comfortable beds and bedding, well-equipped kitchen, and a beautiful and peaceful yard with several seating areas. Our group enjoyed the fact that there were multiple king beds - always a plus when you have multiple couples. One little thing that was really nice that you don’t often find in rentals is that they have plenty of throw blankets. We enjoyed the fire pit and bocce ball outside, too. Location was perfect - close to everything (walkable) but on a quieter street. We would definitely stay again.

Family Wedding Trip

Such a great location

We were a bunch of college friends now in our 40s and this was such a greasy gathering place and location for a quick reunion. Kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. Beautiful grounds, definitely recommend for large groups or families

Fun Family Weekend Getaway

My family and I stayed here for a combined vacation and extended family vacation! This property exceeded all expectations and was perfect for our group of 8 adults! Carol met us when we checked in to ensure we were comfortable with everything and was great with the reservation process! It is walking distance to town and such an oasis! Perfect for a large group

We had a group of 8 women who have been friends for 30 years. There was plenty of room for us to hang out. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. We loved the fact that it was easy walking distance into town.

Highly recommend the Dolphin House

Dolphin House is well-located in center of Solvang so we could walk to most activities. The house is well-equipped and features a beautifully designed and meticulously maintained garden with reading lounges, 2 outdoor dining areas, bocce court, and an outdoor living room with fire pit. The owner is welcoming and super helpful!

First Visit to Solvang

The town is quaint and fun. This property is spacious and stunning — and steps away from a wide range of dining and shopping. Beautiful interior gardens and plenty of amenities made for a truly comfortable and memorable family gathering. Owners could not have been nicer.

Wonderful and relaxing stay

This house was perfect for a 50th birthday lady's reunion get away. The house was very clean and well appointed. We loved sitting around the fire pit outside and enjoying the beautiful garden. The house is easy walking distance to all the stores and restaurants in Solvang and a short drive to Los Olivos and the winerys, but we enjoyed the house so much we didn't want to leave.
