Barking Pine Cabin - private BEACH access, sunny location

Barking Pine Cabin is on a quiet street in Talmont Estates, just up the hill from Sunnyside and the Tahoe Park HOA beach area. The Talmont neighborhood offers easy access to Paige Meadows and miles of back-country which is popular for hiking/biking in summer and cross country skiing/snowshoeing in winter. The Tahoe Park Private Beach offers 3 acres of lakefront enjoyment with two piers, playground, and picnic areas.

New modern siding and a large sunny deck overlooking a forested setting greet you at this home. High ceilings and many windows brighten the living area. High ceilings and many windows brighten the living area while the wood-burning fireplace with stone hearth brings it back to cozy. There are comfortable couches in the living room along with an entertainment center, 40" flatscreen TV and Blu-ray/DVD. There are also televisions in the two bedrooms. Each bedroom offers a queen bed, and the loft offers a bunk bed to accommodate 3 more, with a twin over a full-size bed. There are two full bathrooms, one located on each level of the home.

This home is fully equipped with washer, dryer, dishwasher, disposal, microwave and wireless internet, stereo as well as books and games to keep the whole family occupied. Patio furniture and a newer gas BBQ are available during the summer months.

This 2 bedroom, loft 2 bath home is centrally located to Tahoe City and near world class skiing at Palisades/Alpine Ski Resort, Homewood Mountain Resort, and Northstar at Tahoe. Four-wheel drive is mandatory during the winter months, and winter parking is limited to a maximum of 2 vehicles.

Well behaved dogs are allowed with prior approval. Dog must be approved prior to accepting a reservation. If approved, there is a $100 dog fee and you must follow our "dog" rules - pick up after dog, don't let the dog on any furnishings, and don't leave the dog at the house unattended. Please call us for further details.

This home does not allow any parties or events as this home is in a residential neighborhood, and quiet time is from 9pm-8am. Thanks for your cooperation!

Cleaning fee includes linens and towels. You may want to bring beach towels, as those are not provided.

Perfectly Quiet Neighborhood

Clean, quiet and easy. Perfect for our family of four. Kitchen is tight but also great size for our group. The neighborhood was very quiet which was perfect after all the business around the lake. We would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I spent 10 days at Barking Pine. Julie the property manager was awesome from start to finish. She addressed all our questions quickly, was super responsive, and was super communicated. She's a big reason we rated this a 4. The location of the place cannot be beat as the West Shore of Tahoe. The neighborhood where the cabin is located is great with east access to hiking, walking, the lake, West Shore Market, Shady Side, and Sunnyside. The Tahoe Park Association is also a plus if you enjoy the beach but don't want to be with hundreds of your closet friends. The cabin itself is just OK. While the unit provides the basics it is in need of some love. The carpets and couches are a bit warn and need cleaning. There were lights not working or with mis-matched bulbs, blinds missing turning poles, damaged drawer's in the kitchen, etc. We had to clean away cob webs from the fireplace area and one of the bathrooms. The deck has a fantastic grill but the deck furniture is lacking. There were also several pots and pans which were dirty and had to be cleaned. While we will definitely utilize Julie again next summer I'm not sure we would return to Barking Pines.

Location close to Sunnyside is great. However, overall interior might need a significant refresh. The kitchen is out of age and was not crisp clean. Moreover the dishwasher did not work properly and half of the kitchenware in drawers were dirty upon arrival.There is dust in all "hidden spots" and found food and beverage stains on several location on furnitures.However, our main concern was that the only access to the house is a staircase that has no roofing. So of course has it was a heavy snow storm weekend I had to clear every day. But what is very concerning and dangerous is that there are no snow guards on the house roof at the top of the staircase. So while we were loading our car the last day, half of a 2 feet thick icy snow patch fell on the staircase and the sundeck as big icy blocks. Hopefully, we were in the house having a one last check at this very moment...!
