Quiet dead end with fabulous views of Irvington and downtown from the living room, bedrooms, the front lawn and large covered patio with a private fenced yard area.

We're located on a quiet dead end street, yet an easy walk to an abundance of great restaurants, bakeries, gastro pubs and more, in all directions. Whole Foods (at Fremont Place) is a 6 minute walk in one direction, and the Alberta Arts District in the other! Also close to the Williams District, Mississippi District, and Upper Fremont.

1 block from popular bike route, and a kid & dog friendly park. We provide biking and walking maps as well as neighborhood district maps. Off street parking for 2 cars.

I am a real estate Investor / developer in Portland & Bend OR, & Palm Springs California. Have a passion for mid-century modern architecture and design, and re-imagined and launched the mid-century boutique hotels in Palm Springs, now known as the Orbit In and the Hideaway. My husband and I are co-founders and partners in the Hybrid Natural Food Market chain known as New Seasons Market here in Portland, OR. We love cooking, entertaining, bicycling, travel, the great outdoors, politics, and support environmentally and socially responsible causes & businesses.

What makes this house unique

We are on a quiet dead end street, yet in the heart and pulse of the Rose City. It's a short walk to the lively Alberta Arts District, as well as a number of wonderful restaurants, Brew Pubs, & coffee shops in every direction. The neighborhood is full of interesting architecture and beautiful gardens -- fantastic walks abound!

We are 1 block from the nearest Bike Route, which also takes you over to the Mississippi District.

There is a nice play park for kids and dogs at the other end of our block, and we are located 4 short blocks from Public Transportation. Whole Foods is just an 7 minute walk or a 2 minute drive. New Seasons Market is a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute drive.

This is a very special place with a sweet covered patio and an amazing view of the city! It has a lot of character, and cooking was particularly fun because of the great cookware selection. The owner was helpful solving minor problems. We hope to return some day soon!

Location!

We loved sitting in the living room or on the patio and looking over the treetops, feeling like we were in the mountains instead of in a great residential area in the middle of Portland. We could walk to many good restaurants, bars, and even some music venues, and the convenient bus was just a short walk away. Christy was friendly and easy to work with, but not at all intrusive though she and Stan were living in the upstairs unit. The fruit in the "comminity orchard" just below the house was just coming into ripeness when we left on Oct 1 - I managed to pick some delicious figs but the persimmons were not yet ready.

Awesome location, retro comfort

Fabulous location with plenty to do within walking distance. We also made great use of public transit system, with a bus stop just a few blocks away. The neighborhood is quiet and felt safe to walk in the evenings along with many other people. Nearby park was well enjoyed by families. Bring your bicycle because Portland is uber-bike friendly.

The home is wonderfully retro and comfy. Perfect for the 2 of us. Very conscientiously stocked with the regularly used spices, herbs, papergoods, cleaning and laundry supplies, plus the owners provided coffee, cream, and a great bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Christie and her team were so attentive and helpful, yet not obtrusive.

We came to Portland to escape summer heat and mother nature treated us with the warmest summer in recorded history. Haha! Many places including this home don't have a/c. With the 3 provided box fans we managed along. Water pressure in this holder home isn't fierce so showers took a bit longer to rinse off.

Portland is an amazing city and living in this home opened it up perfectly. If you want to experience the city, live in it, don't commute in. On the other hand, we did venture out to the Columbia River Gorge, Willamette valley, and to the coast. Living at this centralized location made it easy.

All in all, a great location and comfy home. Owners are wonderful to work with!

Perfect location, perfect hosts!

My husband and I recently returned from visiting our college-aged daughter in Portland. We decided to become more acquainted with the neighborhoods in Portland and stayed in this unit. It was a great decision. Our hosts, Christy and Stacey went out of their way to make us feel comfortable -- complete with a complimentary bottle of wine. The house is nestled in the Alberta Arts district and the food and beverage options in the neighborhood are amazing. The home is clean, spacious and decorated in the most wonderfully nostalgic way. We will definitely be back to Portland and hope to find this property available again.

Comfortable home; great views

My husband, myself and our two little boys had a very nice stay here. We enjoyed the privacy of the unit (even though there were people staying in the apartment upstairs) - there is a small but well maintained yard to play in and amazing views to drink in both day and night. We enjoyed many evenings eating out on the patio and watching the sun go down. There are two great playgrounds in easy walking distance, which was a plus for the kids, while the adults enjoyed being able to take a leisurely stroll to Alberta St for dinner or drinks. The owners were very kind and helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we hope to come back!
