Charming Waterfront Cottage on Pristine Great East Lake

Accepting Summer 2025 reservations in February 2025.

1300 sf cottage, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath, 100 ft of waterfront, fully updated.
Stay in an authentic Maine cottage on Class A Great East Lake in Acton, Maine. Located on the main lake but away from most boat traffic. Winter or summer this completely renovated cottage has it all. During the summer and fall this cottage is rented by the week only, Sunday to Sunday.

3 bedrooms and 2 baths on 2 levels. All new beds, new couch, tv and recliners for relaxing.

No Smoking of any kind on the property.

Relaxing and Comfortable Cabin

This was a very well appointed and well maintained cabin on a quiet section of Great East. The yard was nicely landscaped with convenient outdoor spaces. The layout was very comfortable with the master suite isolated from the noise of the rest of the house. Looking forward to staying here again!

Wonderful!

This house on the best lake is great. We were thankful for the comfy beds, a washer and dryer, plenty of kitchen equipment and room to spread out. I don't think this is a good spot for small children due to the numerous stairs, inside and out. Bill was easy and fun to communicate with. It is a bit over whelming when you first arrive and see the mossy roof and over grown vegetation but this did not impact our stay. We are eager to return.

Fantastic family vacation

We had a wonderful time staying here. The house was comfortable for 5 adults and a toddler. The host was very accommodating when we had questions, and provided recommendations for local restaurants. The lake is clean and quiet most of the time. We enjoyed the kayaks, paddle board, and swimming. The lot is hilly and I probably wouldn't bring my rambunctious 2 year old again as there is a big hill with plenty of opportunities for trouble. But older kids would love it! The host is accommodating to dogs, which was great! Lots of seating outdoors and around the fire, and a beautiful dock. The lake itself doesn't have any sandy beaches or boat rentals, but there are others areas nearby where that's possible. Overall it was a peaceful experience that I would recommend to anyone!

Kerrie, glad you all had a good week. For others interested, there are a couple options to rent boats nearby for use on the lake but some advanced planning is needed.

Perfect spot on Great East Lake

Perfect location on Great East Lake. Bill was very responsive to all of my inquiries. We enjoyed many days kayaking, boating, fishing, and using the owner's stand-up paddle board. Quiet setting in a nice little cove. The layout worked well for us (3 adults) and it was great to have so many options to eat outside. Definitely appreciated the gas grill and the washer and dryer. I wish that the oven had been working in the full size stove. The over-sized toaster oven did not adequately meet all of our baking needs. Overall, we had a wonderful time and felt that the house was a good value.

Ideal location for a lake house

This was our second year staying at the property and first time renting from new owner Bill. It is a nice lake house, great location and Bill was very good about keeping us updated on everything.

Property exceeded our expectations

Beautiful lakefront location. This property was a perfect fit for our family with a great layout. It was nice to have air conditioning on each level, washer/dryer available, gas grill outside, new bathrooms, an updated, well equipped kitchen with new appliances, coffee maker and a great layout. The large family room space downstairs still gave you the feeling of being outside with a gorgeous, uninterrupted lakeview through a wall of windows. Master bedroom w/bathroom off of the family room. It was nice to be on a separate level from the other 2 bedrooms on the main level. Outside offered a level yard with a picnic table, large shady yard space under the trees providing additional lakeside seating, an upper deck behind the garage with great seating and a gas grill. There was also a cute bistro table just outside the main floor protected from any weather. Our stay was everything we hoped it would be.
