LANAI: New, bistro-style chairs for gorgeous view over lanai railing. Dine outside or watch the sunset from your lanai with a cool drink. Also club chairs and table for relaxing.

LOCATION: Condo is located on south end of 5th floor of preferred D building. Quiet unit away from foot traffic. Non-smoking unit. Smoking area available outdoors at north end of complex. Two elevators, Numbered parking space immediately adjacent to building.

NATURAL, COMFORTABLE COOLING: Unit is high up and gets both ocean breezes through lanai screens and mountain breezes through front door screen. Two ceiling fans circulate the fresh and fragrant air. No a/c for reasons of health. Roll Down Sun Shade on lanai allows the view but cools the lanai 10 degrees. A tropical paradise!

KITCHEN: Dishwasher/ Disposal, Microwave, Fridge with Ice Dispenser, Blender, Coffee Maker & French Press, Waffle Maker, Complete set of pots, pans, dishes, etc. Island cookbook for local dishes.

Steps away from several small shopping centers with a variety of shopping and dining options. Wailea and Makena are a short drive, with some of Maui's best golf courses and the 'Shops of Wailea'.

About The Owner

We first set foot on Maui as young honeymooners when we hiked across Haleakala and camped. Eventually we made it to a beach, Kamaole II in our Rent-A-Wreck. Lying on our beach mats, we looked back at the Kihei Akahi and dreamed of our own place one day. Fast forward 35 years, two careers and 3 kids later....

The Owner purchased this condo in 2011

Why The Owner chose Kihei

Hubby and I were dreaming of a sunny getaway to escape the rain for decades. Whenever we returned to Maui, it felt like home. When the Canadian dollar was strong, we took the plunge. We wanted friendly, walkable Kihei with an excellent beach. Nothing felt right until we entered D514 and saw that amazing view. It was love at first sight. But the Aloha was missing. So we gutted the place and renovated with Hawaiian ecology and culture in mind: bamboo cupboards, Hawaiian artwork, and mirrors to bring the outside in. A final touch was the conch shell to blow at sunset and the dried pineapple art box on the kitchen wall, a symbol of hospitality. Now we share our love of Maui and Kihei with guests near and far.

2 min walk from door to beautiful Kamaole Beach II with lifeguard. Safe cross walk to beach. Keyless entry lock with personal code so you never have to worry about losing your key. Beach chairs, beach mats, umbrella, boogie boards, skim board, sand toys, coolers, yoga mat No A/C due to risk of mold and allergens. Trade winds flow through, enhanced by ceiling fans in each room. A roll down lanai sun screen cools the lanai and condo by 10 degrees while preserving the sensational view.

Great Place to Enjoy Hawai’i

Palce was perfect for all our adventures - beach time, wine and whale watching from lanai, nearby groceries, snorkel spots and more!

Unit was well-equipped, clean and the keyless entry made sense for us since we “always” lose keys!

Second time to Maui. It’s changed in twenty years since 1° visit, but still has island charm.

We loved trips to upcountry towns, especially Makawao, and sunrise and hiking at Haleakalā was spectacular! 😎?

We hope to return again soon.

Comfortable and convenient stay

We had a great time staying in Diane's home. Her condo was clean and well equipped with everything you need for the beach and cooking meals. With the beach, restaurants, and health food store close by, you did not have to drive much at all. Diane was also very responsive and gave us great recommendations on things to do. We will definitely stay here again!

Amazing vacation experience!

We loved everything about this condo, the area of Kihei, and our dealings with Diane. We had beautiful weather everyday and enjoyed so many experiences on the island, but we always looked forward to coming back to the condo. We loved the view. Sat outside every morning and every evening. It had everything we could need, and really felt like home right away. Home in paradise! We could easily put the “backpack chairs” on and walk to the beach to watch the sunset. The beach is beautiful.We would highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much Diane.

Spectacular view, clean, clutter free, modern kitchen and appliances, easy access and parking,

Excellent, Diane Lane terrific to deal with, clean and modern which is important to me. I ensure that during my stay and upon leaving I leave the place just as clean as I found it. The condo was spacious, bright, breezy, modern. The bedroom is a little dark and tight. I normally sleep on King size bed so just had to

get used to queen size.. Fortunately all the mirrors in bedroom help to make it appear larger. The mirrors are also wonderful in the living areas for spaciousness and the view. I loved that the cupboards were not overflowing with dishes, utensils etc. We did eat out most of time preparing breakfast, some lunches.

Noise level is quite high as you hear conversations, car doors, condo doors, stairwell doors opening and closing, but all is good after quiet time in evening. Also, the view overlooking pool is nice in addition to spectacular view from lanai. Lots of beach equipment to use and great chairs, umbrella.

Living room ceiling fan not as powerful as the bedroom one so very nice to have smaller, tabletop fans to use.

Overall a wonderful unit to stay in and a very nice owner who communicates in a very timely manner. Thank you as this was our first experience renting a private unit and a very positive one. Also as a former owner in Kihei Akahi in building C, I have now had opportunity to experience Building D and it is well located for views on upper floors and back from street traffic and also generally less traffic from the complex. Grounds are well maintained, pools nice and great bbq’s. Occasionally it was difficult to get a lounge chair in upper pool area during afternoons.

Absolutely outstanding!

This is a very special property indeed! From the moment we made our inquiry to the day we had to leave (a sad day it was!), our experience was memorable. The property owner, Diane, is terrific - she's professional, timely with communication via email and took the time to make sure we were settled and pleased with our accommodations upon our arrival. She made us feel like we were valued guests and not simply renters! Pride of ownership is evident here as this condo is beautifully appointed with some really nice touches such as quality Henckel knives as well as other kitchen gadgets and appliances, all in excellent working order and condition. Bamboo cabinets and a beautiful glass backsplash in the kitchen are only some of the really nice upgrades this condo provides. In addition, there is tile throughout to keep temperatures cool. There is no air conditioning in this unit but we didn't find we needed it as there are ample ceiling and table fans to keep the air circulating and there were often lovely breezes that blew through both the bedroom and from the lanai.

Beach chairs, towels, umbrella and coolers were all in excellent shape and very much appreciated for those early morning visits to the beach. Diane keeps a well stocked library of current books about Maui, including snorkel guides which we loved! Speaking of the beach, it's a short 5 minute walk to Kam II and we often drove less than 10 minutes to other great beaches further south.

The view from the lanai is beautiful. Being on the 5th floor is perfect for sunrise and sunset viewing and we made use of the bbqs near the pool on a regular basis so we could enjoy dinners on the lanai as often as possible. Speaking of the pool and bbq area - beautifully maintained and immaculately clean.

We found this unit very quiet - the only negative is sometimes people in the parking lot below could be heard late at night or very early in the morning, not realizing that voices carry to the bedrooms which back onto the parking lot side. A very small nuisance - we hated to close the windows because the sound of birds early in the morning was such a treat as was the breeze.

Thank you Diane for the opportunity to stay in your beautiful Maui home! Our experience couldn't have been better and we can hardly wait to return!

Amazing View!

We had a wonderful stay, the view is lovely when it's overcast, but spectacular when the sky clears! The condo has everything you need for a wonderful stay and a great location next to shops and a very short walk to the beach. There is no A/C but most of the time it cools comfortably with the breeze, just one day it was uncomfortable but it may be because of a big storm that was brewing, after that smooth sailing. For those light sleepers, the bedroom faces the parking lot five floors down, and there is a weird phenomenon where if your windows are open anyone talking in the parking lot below sounds like they are at the foot of your bed. The complex posts Quiet Time signs which I think people generally respect, it was pretty quiet most of the time. The coded door lock is super convenient! This place is perfect for a couple, it's very romantic. We had a toddler with us and I say save it for the older kids or a romantic couples stay, there are a lot of dangerous breakable things within arms reach and we had to be constantly vigilant, but the owner warned us about this. She is great, super helpful and gives a lot of useful information about the local area. I highly recommend this place!

We prefer not to exclude families with small children so I am glad you managed ok with the advance notice that it is more of an "adult" condo. We decided not to install A/C because of the risk of mold. We do have 2 ceiling fans, 2 desk fans and as you experienced, we have a lovely cross breeze and can hear the ocean.
