Oak Tree cabin is a brand new purpose-built vacation rental that just opened in March 2020. It's near our Eagle's Nest, Tree Top and Eaglet cabins and, like them, is near the river, sitting up high above the river with an area to walk down to the river's edge. It's part of an 18-acre "fish trap" location that was used by ancient American Indians hundreds of years ago.

Oak Tree is a cozy cabin with a modern beautiful exterior and interior. Hardwood floors, stainless appliances, flat-screen TVs - everything is new, luxurious, and waiting for your personal enjoyment. The pictures capture some of the beauty, modern design, nature, and open spaces. Take a look at those and drink it all in!

In terms of size, Oak Tree is meant for single families or two couples for a max of 4 guests. There is one bedroom and 2 twin air mattresses, along with one bathroom and a full laundry room.

PLEASE NOTE: The optional firewood charge of $15/night is for firewood for the outdoor fire pit. (The indoor fireplace at this property is gas.) If you don't think you will use the firewood or would like to bring your own, please let us know! We are more than happy to refund that to you.

No parties, events, or gatherings of guests that are not included in the reservation are allowed at Oak Tree.

The base rate includes 2 people. Additional guests are extra $35 per person per night, please read the itemized charges carefully and make sure to make your reservation for the correct number of guests that will be staying. Thank you!

Pet Fee- $85 per dog (max 2 dogs) - No cats, sorry!

Please take your trash with you. There is dumpster access at the Shenandoah River Outfitters (less than a mile from the property). The house manager can take them for a tip of $5 per bag, if you would prefer.

A separate security deposit is required for this property. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions—we are happy to answer them!

The Oak Tree cabin is a charming and cozy retreat that offers a delightful and unforgettable escape into nature.

My stay at the Oak Tree rental cabin was nothing short of magical! Nestled in a picturesque setting, this charming cabin offers the perfect escape from everyday life. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its cozy atmosphere and rustic charm, complete with wooden beams, a loft bedroom, and a little fireplace. I was delighted to find s'mores supplies waiting for me, adding an extra touch of fun to our evenings. One of my favorite experiences was stargazing from the hot tub, surrounded by nature. Making a fire in the fire pit was another highlight! The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals, and the dining area offered stunning views through the large windows. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway in a cozy setting, I can’t recommend the Oak Tree cabin enough. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and nature. I can’t wait to return!

Clean yet decieving from listing

The poperty was very clean and cozy, however the water had a horrible sulfur smell. It was so strong that we purchased drinking water and you could smell it just by turning the sink on. The river was not visible from the porch, the short walk to the river was down a steep pathway. The river was not accessible as described as there was no access point, unless you count reeds and high grass. The property was very clean and cozy, just wish the water smell would of been better.

Nasty Hot Tub

For the daily price you pay, everything should work properly and clean. The hot tub water level was about 6in low. The water had a greenish color to it. There were a lot of calcium flakes floating around, and the filter itself was yellow. The shower curtain had that pink grimy buildup on the bottom, and the corners of the shower had the same pink grime built up in between the cracks. Please know that the water is on a septic system, so it will smell like eggs when you run any water in the house. The smart TV was VERY slow while navigating the apps (not sure if this was the internet or the TV itself). The location is great, albeit there is construction on new properties. Thankfully we were there for a holiday wkend, so we didn’t hear the noise/they were not working. The fire-pit was the best part. We ended up leaving a day early. I would not recommend using Shenandoah Rental properties.

Really nice, secluded getaway. Had a great time, and the property was very clean and comforting. Close enough to Shenandoah Natl. Park, but not close enough to have to sacrifice peace & quiet. Would recommend!

Lovely stay at Oak Tree cabin

Really enjoyed our stay at the cabin! Cozy, warm and clean. Everything you will need to enjoy your time in Shenandoah valley and the mountains. Short drive to Shenandoah national park and Luray Caverns. The sound of the river and sunrise over the mountains in the morning can't be beat. I appreciated the stocked firewood for the cabin, super convenient.

Amazing birthday retreat!

My fiancé and I spent my birthday weekend in Oak Tree. We had such a relaxing time in this quaint little cabin. It was perfect for everything we needed! All the necessities needed for cooking/cleaning up were found in the kitchen or laundry room. The round staircase really pulled me in! This cabin is not too far away from anywhere you might want to explore or if you need to make a run to the store. Even though it’s not far, you still feel so secluded. We hope to come back next fall once the foliage starts to change more. Thank you Laura and Kevin for having such an amazing little cabin to escape to!

Great getaway!

My husband & I (and our dog) visited Oak Tree last weekend. After a very rough 6 months (death in the family) we wanted to get away for a quiet, relaxing weekend with no distractions. That’s exactly what Oak Tree gave us. The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed. We took walks down to the lake, soaked in the hot tub and looked at the stars, took a drive through Shenandoah State Park to look at the overlooks & just enjoyed each other’s company. We never even used the fire pit, even though we had all intentions to do so. There is a small town that has anything you need, although we brought food with us from home and made meals. The kitchen served every purpose we were looking for in that regard. All in all it was exactly what we were looking for. We’ll definitely go back!

Great weekend getaway

Fantastic little spot for a peaceful weekend getaway. When we arrived the cabin was clean, and easy to access. The cabin had all the basic cooking ammenities we needed. Was close enough to sky line drive and the town of Luray if we need to get anything. If your looking for a quiet and peaceful mountain getaway weekend, this is the spot!

Scenic and relaxing cabin

From the booking experience to the check-out, communications were timely and thorough. The cabin was clean and well appointed…great accommodations! We booked the cabin with the hot tub in mind, so it was a little disappointing to see that it was older and not quite as clean as expected. The couch in the living room was quite worn. Finally, although the strong smell of sulphur may be an obvious consequence of a septic system, we were unprepared for just how strong the smell would be. Overall, great experience and great owners.

Overall the rental was very pleasant. Clean, good directions, cozy for two person stay. Thought it was closer to the water but still could within walking distance. The issue I have seen in other reviews with the biofilm in the hot tub can be corrected with “SpaPerfect” a treatment will help with that as will changing the filter regularly. Other than that it was a good stay. V/r TR Girganus

The Perfect Experience, Yes Really

From the time we booked until the moment we checked out, this was an experience that was top tier. The cabin was beautiful and immaculately clean. Everything was comfortable and there were excellent touches throughout the house, including a diary from precious guests that confirmed what we anticipated: Oak Tree would be a place to remember and for all the right reasons. We loved it so much, my husband and I, that we got engaged here and are planning to make it an annual return. The property manager was a doll too.

Great Getaway

It was a very cozy cabin with a great view of the river. There is another cabin close by that isn’t visible in the photos which did ruin a little of the privacy factor for us. The inside was very clean and inviting. The hot tub was great, but seemed a bit dirty which was also noted by other guests in their guestbook. We enjoyed ourselves, and really loved exploring the all the local spots around Luray.

Anniversary Get-away

My husband and I wanted a get-away for our 36th anniversary. We wanted some place nearby but also remote due to Covid. The cabin was perfect! Clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well furnished and provided us the opportunity to cook a special meal. The hot tub was great - especially in the cold night. The view was beautiful along the river and very peaceful. Luray is a quaint little town and provided us a nice area to wander. The cabin sits at the base of the mountain and was about 20 minutes from Luray. Overall a great stay.

Quiet Hilltop Cabin

Spent about a week at the Oak Tree for an anniversary getaway. A great time in a spot with great amenities. The cabin is at the top of a slightly steep hill with a beautiful view of/direct access to the Shenandoah at the bottom near a few other cabins, but the walk back up was good exercise. Quiet nights in the hot tub were much appreciated after days spent exploring the surrounding area (pretty close to some very cool views, towns, etc). Good spot for a weekend trip -- cozy and well built with a peaceful, 'nature retreat' vibe.

It was perfect!

We stayed here for our honeymoon actually and it was just what we wanted. A cabin in the woods, on the river but still very nice. Everything was new and kept very nice. We were worried about A/C in the summer but it was nice and cold so sleeping was no problem at all. The bed was very comfortable as well. We very much enjoyed having a drink in the hottub and looking up at the stars.

Perfect getaway!

Had the most perfect lil weekend getaway at this cabin! Great amenities that we took full advantage of as well as tasteful decor, the bear theme was the cutest touch. Also, one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in at a rental property which is much appreciated! Overall 10/10 amazing experience and would recommend to anyone looking to stay near Shenandoah National Park. Would love to come back to check out one of the larger rental properties with a group of friends.

Perfect escape from quarantine!

We booked Oak Tree Lodge for a much-needed change of scenery after several long months at home. The property is like-new, very well-appointed and clean! Very close to SRO for tubing or other water sports, too. We walked down the hill to the river every day to fish, had a campfire every night, and enjoyed a movie on the DVD player. All in all, a perfect socially-distant getaway!
