Burton Bass Lodge - Newly renovated family retreat in Murray Cove, Lake Burton.

Visit this truly classic lake house located on Lake Burton. Modern renovations give this 70s-built home a nostalgic summertime vibe. This property is nestled in Murray Cove with calm waters and peaceful sounds of the lake. Large vaulted wood ceilings and bright windows fill the home with ambient light, and the open layout provides a perfect gathering space for families. Large decks including a screened-in portion and covered outdoor patio with comfortable seating make it easy to enjoy the surrounding scenery.

This home features a spacious open layout with high vaulted ceilings, a stone wood-burning fireplace, and large beams and windows. The four large bedrooms provide 3 king beds and a bunk room that can easily accommodate groups and families. New renovations including vintage light fixtures, stylish furniture, and bright paint give this classic lake house a modern rustic feel.

The boathouse deck features plenty of seating including sun-lounger chairs and a patio table with an umbrella. Ideal for sunbathing, bbq, swimming, fishing, and enjoying the idyllic scenes of Lake Burton. There are 3 kayaks provided for guest use. The boat is not available, but rentals are available at LaPrade's Marina less than 10 minutes away.

The house was very much as described. It was clean and spacious and plenty of room for a family of six with one baby. We had our two adult children and their spouses with us. We played card games at night in the enclosed porch. We also spent time on the dock at night with dessert and enjoyed star gazing. We also enjoyed two days on the boat. The lake is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your place with us.

Property was excellently situated on the lake. A few maintenance issues arose and were somewhat dealt with, but it appears that replacements might be necessary for the stove and ice-maker in the refrigerator. We personally do not use plastic wear or melamine for eating and rarely for drinks. It would be nice if there were regular plates available. We thought the property met our needs better than any we have rented in the past. Thanks to the homeowner for making it available.

Awesome place!!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Burton Bass Lodge! The home was beautifully renovated, incredibly clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing and fun family retreat. The location in Murray Cove is perfect, peaceful, scenic, and just steps from the lake. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and it truly felt like a home away from home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

Remote, quiet, and beautiful

Four friends who fish rivers everywhere wanted to fish the Soque River for monster trout. This house was 15 minutes from the river and sits on a lake. How can that be anything but ideal. I recommend this property for any purpose, however, as it is a truly beautiful area of the country.

Family Reunion

We have been coming to Lake Burton for many, many years for our family reunion. This year we rented 6 different houses on the lake. This house was the best as far as location, view and overall setup. It was clean, except for a dirty oven that smoked in the whole house when we tried to use it, but other than that the property was clean. The only negative was all the beds are very hard and old. I would still stay here again but I encourage the owner to invest in better beds.

What a place!

We stayed here with family and friends while we looked for a vacation home to buy. Everything was perfect. Property Management was extremely thorough and was extremely easy to deal with. The house was exactly what we were looking for and had all the necessities that we needed. We had four young kids with us and the house came with a kids room that included movies and toys. (HUGE plus) We rented a boat and had a great time and spent every sunset on the boathouse looking at the mountain and lake view. Would highly suggest this property for a getaway!

Fly Fishing outing

Had eight executives stay on Lake Burton to fish the Soque River and had a wonderful time. The home could not have been more perfect. We ate dinner on the dock, hung out on the porch and enjoyed the serenity of the lake. Thank you for helping add to such a memorable experience…..everyone also caught some big trout!

So Relaxing

This is a 1970s property that has been updated to modern expectations. It is very comfortable and casual, but unlike so many lake homes built in the 1970s, this place has spectacular views from the lakeside rooms. The deck stretches across the entire backside of the house. Part of it is covered, while a large portion is covered and screened. Fantastic seating options throughout the house. The master bedroom suite is gorgeous, with great views. The kitchen is well-equipped with most of the things you might need to serve meals to a large group of people. Great boathouse with rooftop sundeck and a deck for fishing. As for parking, there is room for 2-3 cars, including a 1-car carport.

Beautiful Lake Burton home

We loved our stay at the Burton Bass Lodge - the house was absolutely beautiful and immaculate. Murray Cove is a quiet cove, easy to launch our boat from the nearby boat launch, the dock was wonderful and the kids loved playing and swimming in the water. We had amazing sunset views from the boathouse. The only minor inconvenience was that the igniter on the gas grill didn’t work, but a trip to Walmart for a lighter solved that. As advertised, the driveway can be tricky but it is worth dealing with. I hope we can stay here again!

Good Time Had by All!

Burton Bass House is a winner! Great layout, well appointed yet comfortable for a family vacation with our married children and lots of Grands!! Kind of place you want to keep a secret!😉 Pontoon Boat rental at LaPrade’s was perfect compliment for an enjoyable lake vacation. Highly recommend!!

I cannot recommend this place enough !!!

Seriously the best rental ever ! Plenty of space , Great Lake access and boathouse . We brought our pontoon along and put in at the marina and they stored our trailer for $10 a day . The house is laid out wonderfully and had absolutely everything we needed right there . Will definitely be going back !!

We'll be back next year

Burton Bass Lodge was the perfect get away. The location on the lake was perfect and the house was wonderful. The house is very open and light with plenty of room for all 10 of us.
