About this property
Pet-friendly, spacious home with hot tub near downtown Salida
This is a gorgeous 1909 home with a 2010 two story addition that has been newly renovated and furnished for your enjoyment :) Just 260 yards from the Arkansas River by the ball fields, you can walk down M street and put your feet in the river in 3 minutes. You can also put boats/tubes in the river here and float through downtown, or land here after floating to town from upstream. Stroll or bike the riverwalk that starts here and takes you to downtown, or upstream to a couple local lakes.
Several eddies and "beaches" lie along the riverwalk that both humans and pets enjoy. The amazing downtown, with all the restaurants, shops and bars is just a 10 minute walk away, through a quiet neighborhood.
Getting on the river- to do the town stretch (can be done in tubes or boats) you can put in right at the ball fields, straight down M street at the dirt parking lot. It’s a really fun float through some flat water, then 4 fun rapids in town. If you float through town and take out at the end of the river path, behind the Touber Building, it’s just a 17 minute walk back to the house with your tubes. For a longer day stretch, you can put in at the 166 road bridge (1 hour+ float), or Stone Bridge (3 hour float) and take out at the ball fields.
What’s it like staying here- we love this neighborhood for its proximity to the river and downtown, without being in the crazy action of it. It’s a quiet neighborhood but a short walk to everything you’ll want to do while you’re in Salida. If you’re an early riser, you might even see the local deer waking up in the next door neighbor’s yard.
The yard- the front yard is landscaped with aspens, a maple, firs and mulch. It has a 4 foot tall wall around it, which keeps most pets in. We also have a korn hole set that you can setup in the yard and play. The courtyard is perfectly private and has a 6 foot tall wall around it, gas fire pit and seating for 4, grill, and outside dining table and chairs for 6. There is turf "grass" and a hot tub in the spacious, private courtyard! :) There are uninterrupted views of S mountain from our entire yard, making it a perfect place to enjoy holiday fireworks. Enjoying the courtyard in early evening, or by the fire pit at night, is truly a joy.
The interior, as mentioned, the interior is newly furnished in every room. All beds are brand new Tuft and Needle mattresses (2 king, 1 Queen, 1 full and then an air mattress) with super comfy bamboo sheets (feel like silk). There are two very cozy living rooms, each with smart TV, gas fire and ample seating. The one in the back of the house has a Foosball table as well! The kitchen is fully furnished and there is interior dining space for 6+ in the dining room. All the bathrooms are recently remodeled with quartz countertops and vessel sinks. There is a washer and dryer in the half bathroom, in the kitchen. For the coffee aficionados (like us!) we provide a coffee grinder, automatic drip coffee maker with filters, a Chemex pour-over pitcher, a French press, and an insulated tea infuser pitcher.
Please note that all the bedrooms have air conditioning, but that the original portion of the home (including the front living room and kitchen) do not currently have AC. They stay pretty cool by leaving bedroom doors open and using the fans provided to draw cool air in from the air conditioned room.
Internet- we get asked a lot how fast the internet is. The internet is 400mbps and we have 2 brand new Eero routers, providing strong signal throughout the home. Both of the owners work virtually, so they made sure that the internet performs incredibly well. They have had multiple people on VoIP calls at the same time, with no lag, so rest assured the infrastructure is fast enough for your work, study or video enjoyment. Our kitchen is well equipped to accommodate cooking and dining in or grilling on the patio. Or you can take advantage of dine-in or carry-out opportunities from several great Salida restaurant.
If you have any pet(s) you'd like to bring along, please be sure and get them pre-approved by us first, and once approved, we'll send you the $50 pet fee. lt is a minimal fee of just $50 because we don’t expect to have to do much of any pet mitigation after your stay. Thanks in advance for being a good pet owner and helping us keep this home pet friendly!
Please be sure your pet is well brushed before entering the house, and please keep it off all furniture and bedding, as pet hair is very difficult to remove. We only charge a small pet fee upfront, but if any extra cleaning is required as a result of the pet, naturally we will have to pass those costs along to you, so please help us avoid that by being a “leave no trace” pet owner. Thanks in advance for your help on that!
This house has 4 bedrooms, and there's a small futon in the auxiliary living room/game room that is suitable for 1 adult or two small kids.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Perfect Family Home
We love staying in this home with our family. There is plenty of room, great outdoor space and within walking distance of the river and downtown Salida.
We had a wonderful time at this property. It is ideally situated for skiing at Monarch Mountain during the day and spending evenings in Salida. We had plenty of room for 8 people, the property was well-supplied, and the owner was very easy to work with.
Perfect basecamp for MTB and small town relaxation!
Trading vanlife or BLM lad camping for an in-town house was a stretch initially but after checking into the house we enjoyed every bit of its convenience. Super close to the trails and to town. Plenty of space to stretch out our group. And the accommodations, cleanliness, and communication from the host was perfect. 10/10 will stay here again next year!
We really enjoyed our stay at the house and in Salida. The host was very communicative and helped us have a great stay. Overall house was comfortable, spacious, and had all the normal things we needed (coffee machine, coffee grinder, washer/dryer, cooking equipment, a few games and a puzzle). We will be back!

Great vacation home. We had plenty of room and it was well stocked. We will condsider staying here again for sure. We had 8 people and had plenty of room. Also the weather was very cold and snowy and we all stayed plenty warm.
Selfishly, I would love to keep this home a secret to anyone looking to stay in Salida. It is perfect for everyone and there is so much fun to be had in Salida and this home only makes everything better! Very clean and great indoor and outdoor living spaces. We will be back.
This was a super fun location for access to both getting into downtown as well as getting out to the highway and avoiding downtown if desired. We loved the house. It was very roomy and spread out so everyone had their own place to go when privacy was wanted. Being a pet friendly location was also something important to us ranking in the top 2 reasons we stayed here. The hot tub was clean and reached the correct temperature quite easily, providing that extra sense of relaxation and enjoyment to our stay. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for cooking family meals and desserts. We do plan to stay here again and continue our "Salida for the Holidays" tradition!Jessica was very attentive to our needs and responded quickly for any requests or questions we had along the way. This was a very fun place. Clean, easy to find, great access to walking paths and a short walk to the 'metro center' of Salida. Thank you very much, Jessica!

Monarch/ Salida family trip
Our family of five did a ski trip to Monarch and stayed here in Salida. The ski area was close and we also walked into town several times. Everything was so conveniant! It was wonderful and very spacious for five adults . Jessica is an awesome host. She was very quick to respond to all of our needs. We will be back!
We loved the location and amenities of this property. The kitchen was well stocked and towels and toiletries were provided. The game room was a bonus for our preteen and teen family members. Many people liked the layout of the house because it allowed both large gatherings of all 10 of us at meal time, but also the ability to break out into smaller nooks to visit with one another. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus! The location was both close to the river, hiking, mountain bike park, and the cute downtown with lots of fun shops and restaurants.
We enjoyed the Salida Museum, a River walk, the Sand Dunes hike, the Salida Pharmacy soda & ice cream shoppe, Mt. Princeton and the fish hatchery. It was raining or we would have done more mountain biking, but the trails said to stay off if muddy, so we wanted to respect that. If you go, I'm sure you will have a wonderful time with gorgeous views as you drive around town!
Great home in a quiet neighborhood, close to amenities, entertainment, nature, and activities. Used as home base for hiking, floating, walking the shops in downtown Salida, which is within walking distance of this home. Prop mgr. communicated quickly and was thorough in answering my questions. The home was clean, spacious, and well stocked. Lots of outdoor space, chairs, and privacy in two fenced areas, plus hot tub! Very pleased with this rental and highly recommend!
The house was spacious and well stocked. The proximity to downtown Salida and the HWY are very accessible for day trips. The mountain view’s from the backyard are a bonus!
We were opening a new location in town and a group of work peers needed a place to stay that was close, comfortable and relaxing for a busy work week. This was a great place with plenty of room and privacy for all of us. We had a slight hiccup with the electricity but received quick communication and resolution, so it was not an issue. I would absolutely recommend.
This was a wonderful property for our group of adults and toddlers. Plenty of room to spread out and a great outdoor space. Excellent location - walk to town, the river, or trails. We would definitely stay here again!
This property was perfect. It was exactly as pictured and the location was the best. Close to everything. Jessica was so good to work with. Answered all our pre-arrival questions quickly. Salida is a charming town. We will be back!
