About the property

Hot Tub

Three-level town home; 2200sq. feet; 2 bedrooms; 3 ½ baths, sleeps 6.

Salida Riverfront Town Home is located in downtown Salida, three blocks from the center of Historic Downtown Salida, on the beautiful Arkansas River.

This three story town home was built in 2007 with elegant, high-end finishes. Each of the three floors has its own spacious deck that overlooks (nearly overhangs!) the Arkansas River with amazing views both upstream and downstream, including a view of Tenderfoot (“S”) Mountain. The lowest deck has stairs down to water level and a jacuzzi hot tub that can be used year round.

The well appointed kitchen has lots of granite counter space and is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. (We're serious--the kitchen has EVERYTHING you would expect to find in a regular family kitchen—including a dishwasher.) Those gourmet meals can be enjoyed at either the indoor or outdoor dining tables--both have amazing views. Your designated chef need not despair of cooking duty--he or she can enjoy the company of companions AND views of the Arkansas River because the kitchen is open to the main living and dining area.

The lower level is a spacious second living room designed for relaxation, with a leather couch, reclining chairs, 32 inch flat screen television, small library of books, gas fireplace, and full bath. The deck on this level has steps down to the river, and the sound of the river through the oversize sliding glass doors is mesmerizing. In fact, each of the three levels has oversize sliding glass doors onto the decks and the river can be clearly heard from all three floors.

There are two large bedroom suites on opposite sides of the upper floor, each with private bathrooms. The master suite faces the river, has its own deck, and a king size bed with high quality linens. The master bath has double sinks and a large, beautifully tiled shower with bench.

The second bedroom faces the front of the home with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the south and has two queen sized beds with high quality linens and goose-down comforters. The bathroom in this second bedroom is also beautifully tiled and includes a bath tub.

Other amenities include a single car garage with extra space to store your toys,

and parking for an additional vehicle in the driveway (additional parking is available on the street); Bose iPod dock, full linens, four 32 inch flat screen TVs, full size washer and dryer, gas grill, walk-in closets in each bedroom, side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, large kitchen pantry, gas range and oven and microwave. And do not forget to the Hot Tub added November 2012.

We also have solar panels on the roof sufficient to provide 100% of our electrical use including heating our new energy efficient hot tub.

About Doug Jones

Linda and I both grew up in Minnesota. We have 2 sons that live close to us in Minneapolis and a daughter that lives in Salida. We have 7 grand children. Linda is a retired Nurse. We also have a family run real estate business in Minneapolis. We have been married 41 years and still like each other. Hard to believe the time has gone by so fast. We always tried to take time for just the two of us. Fortunately Linda's Mom loved staying with our kids.

Doug Jones purchased this townhome in 2012

Why Doug Jones chose South Central

Linda and I bought this house in May of 2012. We bought the home to be close to our daughter and son in law and especially our brand new grand daughter. The decision to buy the house was a compromise. I wanted to be on the river and Linda wanted to be close to downtown. This house gives us both what we wanted. We visit often in all seasons and have come to love Colorado and all the outdoor activities.

What makes this townhome unique

Close to great trout fishing, Monarch Mountain Ski area, bike or walk to restaurants and shopping or just explore. Great hiking areas surround Salida. We love the weather here. Salida always cools down at night so you can leave your windows and doors open in the summer to hear the flowing Arkansas River and enjoy the fresh air.

Fabulous Stay in Salida

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The owner was very easy to work with. He was responsive and checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. The home is beautiful, clean, and spacious. Sitting in the awesome hot tub, overlooking the Arkansas river while snow came down was the highlight. I am eager to return to this property and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Beautiful views of the river, large condo on three levels, great beds.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in Salida at this condo for 5 days. It has three decks all looking out over the river which is beautiful. Its located short distance from downtown shopping and restaurants, which is perfect for walking. Salida is a pedestrian and biking town, so its nice to be in walking distance. The layout is on three levels so there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The bedrooms are large on bright. The kitchen is well equipped and ready for all kinds of cooking (the gas stovetop is a plus!). Its nice to stay in a newer property with all the furniture in good shape.

I would highly recommend this property.

A couple of suggestions: a removal of cobwebs, a good cleaning of the oven and more clear instructions on how to use the dvd player (we could not get it going) and the central heat, replacement of a couple of light bulbs.

Thanks for beautiful time!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. As you may know homes on the water may have cob webs appear overnight. I wish you had called me back and I may have been able to help with you with the DVD player and I definitely would have helped you with how to operate the heating system. I had suggested to call if you had problems or concerns when we talked on your arrival day. We have replaced most of our light bulbs with LED bulbs which are suppose to have a long life and are not able to check all lights when we prepare our home during the day for our next guests. We have replacement light bulbs in the lower level closet across from the laundry room. Thanks for your stay at our home. Doug and Linda

Lovely stay by the river

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in this condo along the river! Beautiful home, clean, and modern with a fantastic view right by the river. We felt the cleaning fee was very high and the check out time was a bit early (10am unless you make other arrangements). But we would recommend this place for a quiet getaway. Thanks!

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. I am sorry you did not ask for a late check out. We had no guests coming that day and could have worked it out if you had asked. Our cleaners have a big house to clean and 4 bathrooms. We pay them $130.00 each time they clean and charge guests $100.00. No one wants to come into a house that is not clean. We have never had a review that said the house was dirty. Your complaint was that it was expensive. We do pay the cleaning fee if you stay 5 nights. Thanks for coming back and staying in our home. Next time ask for a late check out so we can schedule our cleaners. Summer can present problems as we have many back to back rentals.

Beautiful Condo on the Arkansas River

  • 5 of 5

Location! Location! Location! This magnificent condo has three decks overlooking the Arkansas River just a few blocks from downtown Salida. We were in the area to fish and watch the baseball playoffs, but this beautifully furnished condo made our stay much more special and comfortable. The unit is 'like new' clean, beautifully decorated, with very comfortable furniture and beds. TVs were excellent for our playoff viewing, we used the gas grill one night for brats & dogs, and of course the hot tub with a river view was a daily highlight. The owner Doug really helped to make sure our arrival and stay went smoothly (and was especially helpful after our stay when we left a few T-shirts behind). We love the Salida area and this condo really enhances our visit because of its connection to the river flowing through town. Book it - you'll love it!!

Salida Dream!

  • 5 of 5

Vacation in Salida, Co the last week of September...literally can't think of one negative thing to say about our stay at this condo! Beautiful location, right on the river, nothing between you and the water. Condo has everything you could possibly need. Beautifully decorated and in practically new condition! Two beautifully decorated bedrooms, one with it's own private deck over the river and the other with a beautiful view of the mountains. Well stocked kitchen, not lacking anything we might have needed. Another deck off the dining/living area on this floor also. Down the stairs to the lowest level you will find another lovely living area with large television, DVDs and many interesting books. A laundry room and full bath are on this level too. Then on to the 3rd deck that included a hot tub and the access right down to the river. Plenty of big boulders for sitting and dangling your feet in the water as you read or just enjoy nature. There is a private garage but you probably won't need your car as downtown Salida is in easy walking distance. Have made many trips to Salida in the past but will GUARANTEE you we won't come again unless this condo is available for our stay!
