About the property

Hot Tub

Three-level town home; 2200sq. feet; 2 bedrooms; 3 ½ baths, sleeps 6.

Salida Riverfront Town Home is located in downtown Salida, three blocks from the center of Historic Downtown Salida, on the beautiful Arkansas River.

This three story town home was built in 2007 with elegant, high-end finishes. Each of the three floors has its own spacious deck that overlooks (nearly overhangs!) the Arkansas River with amazing views both upstream and downstream, including a view of Tenderfoot (“S”) Mountain. The lowest deck has stairs down to water level and a jacuzzi hot tub that can be used year round.

The well appointed kitchen has lots of granite counter space and is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. (We're serious--the kitchen has EVERYTHING you would expect to find in a regular family kitchen—including a dishwasher.) Those gourmet meals can be enjoyed at either the indoor or outdoor dining tables--both have amazing views. Your designated chef need not despair of cooking duty--he or she can enjoy the company of companions AND views of the Arkansas River because the kitchen is open to the main living and dining area.

The lower level is a spacious second living room designed for relaxation, with a leather couch, reclining chairs, 32 inch flat screen television, small library of books, gas fireplace, and full bath. The deck on this level has steps down to the river, and the sound of the river through the oversize sliding glass doors is mesmerizing. In fact, each of the three levels has oversize sliding glass doors onto the decks and the river can be clearly heard from all three floors.

There are two large bedroom suites on opposite sides of the upper floor, each with private bathrooms. The master suite faces the river, has its own deck, and a king size bed with high quality linens. The master bath has double sinks and a large, beautifully tiled shower with bench.

The second bedroom faces the front of the home with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the south and has two queen sized beds with high quality linens and goose-down comforters. The bathroom in this second bedroom is also beautifully tiled and includes a bath tub.

Other amenities include a single car garage with extra space to store your toys,

and parking for an additional vehicle in the driveway (additional parking is available on the street); Bose iPod dock, full linens, four 32 inch flat screen TVs, full size washer and dryer, gas grill, walk-in closets in each bedroom, side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, large kitchen pantry, gas range and oven and microwave. And do not forget to the Hot Tub added November 2012.

We also have solar panels on the roof sufficient to provide 100% of our electrical use including heating our new energy efficient hot tub.

About Doug Jones

Linda and I both grew up in Minnesota. We have 2 sons that live close to us in Minneapolis and a daughter that lives in Salida. We have 7 grand children. Linda is a retired Nurse. We also have a family run real estate business in Minneapolis. We have been married 42 years and still like each other. Hard to believe the time has gone by so fast. We always tried to take time for just the two of us. Fortunately Linda's Mom loved staying with our kids.

Doug Jones purchased this townhome in 2012

Why Doug Jones chose Salida

Linda and I bought this house in May of 2012. We bought the home to be close to our daughter and son in law and especially our brand new grand daughter. The decision to buy the house was a compromise. I wanted to be on the river and Linda wanted to be close to downtown. This house gives us both what we wanted. We visit often in all seasons and have come to love Colorado and all the outdoor activities.

What makes this townhome unique

Close to great trout fishing, Monarch Mountain Ski area, bike or walk to restaurants and shopping or just explore. Great hiking areas surround Salida. We love the weather here. Salida always cools down at night so you can leave your windows and doors open in the summer to hear the flowing Arkansas River and enjoy the fresh air.

Great location for skiing (Monarch), fly fishing (the Ark) and walking distance to town.

  • 5 of 5

Well appointed, comfortable, and it was great having the hot tub, overlooking the Arkansas River.

Monarch was our the first leg of our annual ski trip, followed by Crested Butte.

Doug was very attentive and runs his vrbo well.

Had another fine dinner @ 216 Ferraro's in town. Rented our ski's from the friendly folks at Mt Shavano.

We'll be back!

Perfect place in Salida!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Jones’ townhome over Christmas and we are so glad that we did. We have stayed at other VRBO locations in Salida and this one is by far our favorite. It was well appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There was even a decorated Christmas tree when we arrived and you have a perfect view of Salida’s Christmas Mountain. You can’t beat the location, as it is walking distance to downtown and many great restaurants. The river in the back is beautiful! The home decor really made it feel like home. We will be back!

Great river condo near town!

  • 5 of 5

Peaceful river sounds from all 3 levels with sliding doors & decks. John fished by walking down steps from lower level. Walking to town or grocery store a real treat. Kitchen had everything I needed to enjoy cooking most meals. Doug and his sweet Daughter were so accommodating. Well maintained home so well layed out. We hope to return for another memorable vacation!
