Hot Tub, Chef Kitchen, Solar Elec, Right on the Water, Gas Grill 3 decks on Rvr
Three-level town home; 2200sq. feet; 2 bedrooms; 3 ½ baths, sleeps 6.
Salida Riverfront Town Home is located in downtown Salida, three blocks from the center of Historic Downtown Salida, on the beautiful Arkansas River.
This three story town home was built in 2007 with elegant, high-end finishes. Each of the three floors has its own spacious deck that overlooks (nearly overhangs!) the Arkansas River with amazing views both upstream and downstream, including a view of Tenderfoot (“S”) Mountain. The lowest deck has stairs down to water level and a jacuzzi hot tub that can be used year round.
The well appointed kitchen has lots of granite counter space and is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals. (We're serious--the kitchen has EVERYTHING you would expect to find in a regular family kitchen—including a dishwasher.) Those gourmet meals can be enjoyed at either the indoor or outdoor dining tables--both have amazing views. Your designated chef need not despair of cooking duty--he or she can enjoy the company of companions AND views of the Arkansas River because the kitchen is open to the main living and dining area.
The lower level is a spacious second living room designed for relaxation, with a leather couch, reclining chairs, 32 inch flat screen television, small library of books, gas fireplace, and full bath. The deck on this level has steps down to the river, and the sound of the river through the oversize sliding glass doors is mesmerizing. In fact, each of the three levels has oversize sliding glass doors onto the decks and the river can be clearly heard from all three floors.
There are two large bedroom suites on opposite sides of the upper floor, each with private bathrooms. The master suite faces the river, has its own deck, and a king size bed with high quality linens. The master bath has double sinks and a large, beautifully tiled shower with bench.
The second bedroom faces the front of the home with views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the south and has two queen sized beds with high quality linens and goose-down comforters. The bathroom in this second bedroom is also beautifully tiled and includes a bath tub.
Other amenities include a single car garage with extra space to store your toys,
and parking for an additional vehicle in the driveway (additional parking is available on the street); Bose iPod dock, full linens, four 32 inch flat screen TVs, full size washer and dryer, gas grill, walk-in closets in each bedroom, side-by-side refrigerator with ice maker, large kitchen pantry, gas range and oven and microwave. And do not forget to the Hot Tub added November 2012.
We also have solar panels on the roof sufficient to provide 100% of our electrical use including heating our new energy efficient hot tub.

About Doug Jones
Linda and I both grew up in Minnesota. We have 2 sons that live close to us in Minneapolis and a daughter that lives in Salida. We have 7 grand children. Linda is a retired Nurse. We also have a family run real estate business in Minneapolis. We have been married 44 years and still like each other. Hard to believe the time has gone by so fast. We always tried to take time for just the two of us. Fortunately Linda's Mom loved staying with our kids. Salida Short Term Rental Business License #0252
Doug Jones purchased this Townhome in 2012
Why Doug Jones chose Salida
Linda and I bought this house in May of 2012. We bought the home to be close to our daughter and son in law and especially our brand new grand daughter. The decision to buy the house was a compromise. I wanted to be on the river and Linda wanted to be close to downtown. This house gives us both what we wanted. We visit often in all seasons and have come to love Colorado and all the outdoor activities.
What makes this Townhome unique
Close to great trout fishing, Monarch Mountain Ski area, bike or walk to restaurants and shopping or just explore. Great hiking areas surround Salida. We love the weather here. Salida always cools down at night so you can leave your windows and doors open in the summer to hear the flowing Arkansas River and enjoy the fresh air. Check snow conditions at ski monarch.com

Beautiful mountain property, near Monarch mountain
Doug was very helpful and available when needed for questions. The property is beautiful with decks overlooking the river. We loved watching the deer in the evening and the water fowl in the morning. We were skiing at Monarch and the drive to and from was around 20 minutes. You are close to downtown but we spent all our time playing games in this wonderful house. Thank you for your hospitality guys. The only issue was the fact that their gophers have taken the lumber to my rams in the past
Hope you will come back. Go Gophers. We do enjoy our Minnesota Sports.
So nice I don’t want to tell anyone
I don’t want to tell anyone how wonderful this home was so that the home won’t be booked up solid when I come back to Salida next time.
My family (wife and kids, 8 and 6) stayed at the house on the river in Salida for a week in March 2018. The lovely home is very well decorated and immaculately clean. The kitchen had everything we needed, even a crock pot to cook dinner slowly while we were off skiing all day. We even went out and bought fishing poles for myself and the kids to do some fishing in the back yard which is the Arkansas River. While we didn’t catch anything, it was still a great time. And listening to the water running over the rocks while sipping on a glass of wine on one of the 3 back patios just made the end of every day. Oh yea, the hot tub was great too.
The home is also very close to downtown Salida that we walked to dinner and shopping on multiple occasions. There is also a cute downtown park only 3 blocks away that had a great playscape with slides and swings that my kids begged to go play on every night before dinner, even after a full day of skiing.
What a great home in a nice little town. And Doug was very responsive to all my questions and even called the first day to check on us and made sure everything was in order (it was). Thanks Doug, we will be back soon.
My family and I had the pleasure of vacationing at this great home overlooking the Arkansas River within walking distance to downtown Salida. This place is absolutely outstanding!!! We loved everything from the hot tub on the deck to the beautifully appointed decor. The owners daughter personally stopped by to help us light the fireplace. Now that’s great service. We hope to return again. Thank you Doug Jones and family!
Glad you enjoyed our home. I am not sure who shut off the gas to the fireplace. We are glad that Lindsay was able to light it for you.
Clean, comfortable, lots of room, lovely view right on the river!
This is a very nice home. Lots of space. It is very clean and well maintained. We come here every year and we plan to continue. Love it!
Wonderful riverfront property in downtown Salida
Great to hear the river outside your window, hot tub was a plus, beautifully decorated with first class furnishings and accessories, easy walk to downtown (unless your wife is too tired from skiing in which case parking is no problem!)
Beautiful home with spectacular views.
This is the second time I have stayed at this magnificent home. Every detail and design feature has been captured perfectly inside and out. The rear Master Bedroom is large with a walk-in closet, huge bathroom, and a deck that faces east. The morning sun, view of the foothills, and Arkansas River awaits you each day. The front bedroom is even bigger and offers a view of the 14 thousand foot mountain ranges to the west. It truly feels like a home away from home.
The home is close to the shopping/restaurant district of Salida, and the miles of hiking trails and fly fishing are literally in your back yard. The ski resort of Monarch is an easy 1/2 hour drive away and is as pure and majestic as it gets.
The owners, Doug and Linda Jones, care about their guests and want to offer the best vacation experience. I will be back again!
Zip line, fabulous fly fishing
