Welcome to the quintessential Nantucket beach house with sweeping ocean views, within seconds to the best beach on the Island. We've named it 'Spindrift'. Located on a large lot, the house is set well back from the road. Relax at the beach or on the deck. Swim in the surf and play at the beach. Enjoy the fabulous sunsets and great fishing.
The house is comfortable and informal. There's an expansive deck with outstanding ocean views for relaxing and dining alfresco. As you enter this spacious house from the deck there is a comfortable dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The large living room has a flat screen TV, card table, and is furnished for relaxed island comfort. There's a Steinway upright piano for the musically inclined.
Both bathrooms were renovated with marble, stone tile and new fixtures. One bath has a large walk in shower and the other bath has a jetted tub. There is also a convenient outdoor shower with hot and cold water to rinse off after a day at the beach.
There are two bedrooms on the first floor (Twins, Queen), one full bath and laundry room. The second floor has three bedrooms (King, Queen and Twins), a sitting room/office and one full bath. The Queen bedroom has a private deck off the bedroom which has sweeping ocean views.

Patty used to vacation as a little girl on Martha's Vineyard. As she grew older she gravitated toward Nantucket which she soon discovered was her favorite summer place. Patty introduced me to the island in 1978. There was something very special about Nantucket that captivated us-the un-crowded beaches, wonderful recreation-swimming, biking, body surfing, fishing- the list goes on. After a day in the sun there were wonderful restaurants second to none. As we became more acquainted with Nantucket we found ourselves going to Madaket for the Sunsets, surfcasting at Smith's Point, and swimming in the surf. In 1983 we took the plunge and bought a beach house in Madaket. The rest is history and great memories. The kids grew up on the beach in the summer, selling lemonade on the bike path, and finally having summer jobs on Nantucket during high school and college. We're older now, but young at heart, and we still enjoy all the things that brought us to Nantucket in the first place. Come, enjoy, and we know you'll return again and again.
The Owner purchased this house in 1983
We bought here because the beach is seconds away and you can take long walks along the water. Madaket is on the west end of Nantucket where the sunsets are fabulous. There's great surfcasting for bluefish and stripers. You can enjoy just about every water sport imaginable in Madaket. The quiet water on the harbor side and surf on the other, proves a great benefit for children at different ages. Being six miles out of town keeps the pace of life slow and relaxing, yet the cobblestone street of town are only ten minutes away. In the last analysis, it's all about the beach, the ocean, the surf.
Literally a one minute walk to the beach, The sound of the surf ,Swimming in the Ocean ,Walks on the beach, Fishing, Stargazing, Large Deck, Views of the Ocean, Bicycling and the Bike Path, Seasonal Shuttle to Historic Nantucket, Town for Fine Dining and Shopping ,Madaket Sunsets-the best on the island
