Escape to Almost Heaven for the ultimate Blowing Rock experience. The ground floor retreat is nestled on a quiet lane with beautiful rock formations and stunning views from the large back deck. The back deck has four wooden rocking chairs and a view that will get you out of bed early in awe as the sun comes up over the mountains.
You'll want to enjoy each morning cup of coffee from here. Features include a large, well-stocked kitchen and comfortable living area with a pull-out sofa bed, desk (if work absolutely can’t wait!) and gas fireplace. The kitchen seats four at a pub-style table and features a Keurig machine, Crock Pot, and all that you need to make a meal at home. Choose between two beautifully decorated and well-appointed bedrooms - the deer room with full bath, garden tub and large walk-in closet or the mountain room with a full bath. A washer and dryer is available for use in the laundry room. Situated at the top of Ski Mountain, you’re almost as close to the slopes as it gets. The Blue Ridge Parkway less than 5 minutes away, downtown Blowing Rock less than 10 minutes and downtown Boone less than 15 minutes. Tweetsie is so close you can hear it's whistle of this much-loved area attraction. You'll smile each time you hear "choo choo!" You’re close to all that this incredible area has to offer or you can stay in, enjoy the beautiful home and take in the views, mountain breeze, and sounds of nature. We look forward to sharing our home with you!

If you ask my kids, you can drop the “Almost” as they were in seventh Heaven during winter storm Fern! After a day of first time skiing for my littlest and showing off skills on the board my oldest learned over Christmas, we settled in for the storm in our cozy, warm, and well appointed haven safe from the elements outside.Our hosts made us feel welcome from the first message, and their concern for our wellbeing during the storm was sincere and well received. Thank you, Lauren, we can’t wait to come back!

Perfect Place for Family Ski Weekend

Very nice home with 2 bd/2 bath and the perfect amount of space for a family of 4 or 2 couples for a weekend in the mountains. The hosts were easy to communicate with and made sure we had a wonderful time.

Almost Heaven wins again!

This was our fourth time staying here and we will be back! Great location, stunning views and everything you could ask for. Close to Boone and downtown Blowing Rock. Comfy décor and a stocked kitchen.

Beautiful area!

What a gorgeous area and a wonderful place to visit. The scenery looks like a postcard! Hiking, shopping and dining in the area was quite enjoyable. We will definitely want to get back to Blowing Rock in the future. This location was very convenient to everything we wanted to see.

Location

For us, the location was the most important thing and this place is ideally located between Boone and Blowing rock. Every morning we hiked at Bass Lake/Moses Cohn Park.

Weekend Getaway

We loved our stay at Almost Heaven. It is close to either Boone or Blowing Rock. The house was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Also the sunrise view from the back deck was unbelievable. We will becoming back to this property and would recommend to anyone.

Great location

The property was very comfortable. The stay was for 6 weeks and the location was perfect. Very close to Blowing Rock, Moses Cone, the BRP, and Boone. Location was quiet and neighbors, when they were there, were friendly. The porch is great for morning coffee, evening wine and Yoga anytime. Definitely would recommend. Hosts were very responsive.
