Eagle Rock - Spacious Ocean Front - Family Friendly Home

Welcome to "Eagle Rock". Whether you are a family or a group of friends, come and enjoy this sunny, west-facing oceanfront home on beautiful Pender Island.

You will love the stunning sunsets, breathtaking views, and clean ocean air. Eagle Rock has a spacious living-dining room, a huge eat-in kitchen, two king bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, and two more bedrooms with one full bathroom downstairs.

Sit on the 1000 square foot deck on the top, or the 500 square foot deck below and watch the whales swim by while the eagles soar. Or, get closer by walking down to the ocean-side flagstone patio and sit on the Adirondack chairs.

This spacious 3000-square-foot family home is on a private one-acre lot at the end of a cul-de-sac. There are two wood-burning fireplaces, one upstairs and one down.

Enjoy comfortable dining outside and inside. Grill on the propane BBQ. Find peace in the Hot Tub overlooking the ocean view.

The large eat-in kitchen has everything you need, including spices, olive oil, and aluminum foil. Quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a large kitchen island with stools ensure that there is lots of room to cook and socialize.

Downstairs, you or the kids can have fun in the Games Room. It has a foosball table, a 65-inch TV, a pull-out Queen-size sofa bed, and a brand-new Kitchenette.

A short stroll brings you to charming beaches, the marina, and a picnic spot.

Pender Island provides two well-stocked grocery stores, wine and liquor stores, a pharmacy, bakeries, and plenty of restaurants. You only need to bring your clothes.

At Brownings Marina, you can rent kayaks or charter boats, swim in the pool, or eat at the pub or restaurant.

Just a short ferry ride or a quick floatplane ride from Vancouver, Seattle, or Victoria, "Eagle Rock" is located in the Southern Gulf Islands on Canada's beautiful Pacific West Coast.

A Peaceful and Quiet Oasis

We loved our stay at Pender Island. Relaxing in the hot tub or on either deck and looking at the water and wildlife was just the city escape we both needed. The house had everything we needed thanks to our host Pauline. We especially appreciated the flexibility on leaving time for checkout day, so we could be comfortable at the house before taking a later ferry. While on the island, we visited the winery and cidery. The winery had a lovely setting but I would have liked to have tried red wines too. The cidery was fantastic in our experience, and we wish we’d bought a few more bottles to take home. We ate on the patio of the marina restaurant, got ice cream, and picked up sandwiches and baked goods at a local bakery/cafe. All were great and provided tasty vegetarian options. We stopped at a larger grocery store in Victoria to buy some of the Salt Island cheeses to try, since we planned to go straight to Pender Island. Glad we did. Yummy!!

Our best family vacation ever!

Seven of our family, ages ranging from 4 to 72, met and stayed at the beautiful Eagle Rock for a week. The home was spacious and comfortable, and our vacation would have been perfect if we only had enjoyed the incredible views. But we sampled everything Pender Island had to offer! From picking blackberries to sampling wine and cider to the last day at the Fall Festival, it was the best family vacation ever. Thanks to our wonderful host for making it easy and comfortable.

Pender Paradise

The house was perfect for our family vacation. Great layout for older kids on the lower floor and adults on the main. Very quiet with a beautiful view. We’ll be back!!

Welcoming home in quiet neighborhood. Beautiful west-facing views from high cliff site provided many spectacular sunset views as well as scenes of passing orcas, ferries, ships and boats, birds etc. Well-supplied kitchen.

Reunion with friends

We had a wonderful time in Pauline’s lovely home. The view could not be better and we were fortunate enough to enjoy seeing a pod of orcas. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The hot tub was a big hit with everyone. We were with a group of friends we have known for over 50 years but we all live in different towns so we make a point of choosing a nice place for our reunions and we all thought Eagle Rock was super.

Spectacular View

The home must have one of the best views on Pender Island, with large windows on two floors facing the ferry passage and Salt Spring Island. We enjoyed very different sunsets every night for a week, along with the frequent ferry sightings day and night. All of the bedrooms are spacious, and we appreciated having the fridge capacity in the two kitchens for our large group. The home essentially has a self-contained suite on each level, so everyone can find some private spot at any time. The foosball table got a lot of use. Anyone with physical issues should be aware that there are many stairs from the parking lot to the house on the bluff, so if you arrive to find the advertised trolley out of service, as we did, there could be some challenges transporting luggage. Also, the indoor stairs between floors had no hand railing, presenting safety worries for the older visitors. Wifi was inconsistent but fine when near the router. Pauline was receptive to hearing about concerns, none of which spoiled our great week at the place.

Pender Island Eagle Rock

Large beautiful home with a spectacular view of the ocean. It easily accommodated our combined families of 10. The hot tub and Foosball table were a great hit. The large kitchen was well equipped for our Thanksgiving meal preparations. Pauline was very helpful and accommodating with any questions. We enjoyed our stay and recommend Eagle Rock for a great family get away.

Amazing Weekend Away!!

Our group had a spectacular three-night stay on Pender Island and raved about the place the whole time. The house was perfectly set up for us - the kitchen was so well stocked! The view is absolutely stunning, and we got lucky enough to see many pods of orcas and countless eagles from the top sundeck. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to others. Excellent place to stay!

The house was beautiful, it had everything that one would need when staying away from home. We were there for my son's wedding there was enough room for the family. The hot tub, fireplace, and the view were great. Believe or not in that house with the view from the kitchen window I could wash dishes all day long. Thank you for your lovely home Rosemarie

New family traditions

Comfortable & spacious with amazing views

We had a fantastic time staying in Pauline's place. The view of the sea and trees from the kitchen/dining room/balcony was gorgeous, and the colours of the sea and sky were always changing. We enjoyed hanging out in the sunshine on the waterfront patio space. The house was clean, and very spacious - it never felt too full. Towels and bedding was good, but I recommend bringing a few more towels from home for the hot tub. It was lovely having family breakfast and dinner with everyone fitting at the long table in the dining room. All of the necessary kitchen utensils and cooking dishes were in the kitchen. I also appreciated the stash of games in the cupboards by the door! Thank you Pauline for a lovely stay. We hope to book again next year.

Stunning views

Fantastic

The view itself is worth the trip. Also a beautiful, well maintained and well equipped home. Loved the wood burning fireplace and hot tub. Great kitchen, comfortable rooms and beds. Good space for our large group, great sitting spot in the back yard. And we loved the island and the locals who were friendly and welcoming. We did a great hike, went to the farmers market, did some ocean access exploring, played cards. Perfect family time. Don't be intimidated by the "welcome letter" which reads a little like a chores lists.... It is really just pointing out neighbourly respect which is totally fair, and makes you aware of some of the parts of island life (like garbage collection) that you might not be aware of. Pauline is wonderful to deal with and she has good support people in place as well.

Stunning views and great for large groups

Pauline's house was a great place for our family vacation. Very comfortable, nicely appointed, and with space to both spread out and gather together. The large main kitchen provided plenty of room to cook big family dinners. And the location on the point is wonderful; every time we walked into the house we were bowled over by the view from the windows. We saw whales and porpoises "only" once from the deck and patio (a peaceful spot down by the water) but we enjoyed seeing otters and seals other times. We also enjoyed exploring Pender; the disc golf course was a big hit. Pauline was very attentive and responsive to any questions. All in all we had a great experience!

Indeed a Stunning Ocean View

This property was all that it was described as. We had an eleven month old with us so we spent a fair amount of the time at the house when he napped. We were mesmerized by the view. We saw Orcas on 2 days, eagles, and we had fun watching the humming birds at the feeder. Lots of boats and ferries to add to the view. The house was fabulous with privacy for each couple. The kitchen was large and well equipped. Definitely a house and island we would like to return to! Thanks, Pauline for being available for our needs.

Fabulous!

Sorry for the long delay in writing this review, it wasn't until I went back on VRBO to book that I thought of it! Pauline, your home is absolutely fabulous. The views were unbelievable and although we were visiting Pender for a sad occasion your home was a true haven! I have been to Pender many times over the years and never spotted whales and we saw pods of whales (humpback I think) frolicking just off shore almost every afternoon. On the day of the internment, we were just getting into the car to head to the cemetery and the bald eagle who is nesting in the vicinity came over and landed in a tree right above the car and commenced to screech away; mom perhaps lol! Pender Island is truly a magical place and you are so lucky to own a piece of the magic. Thank you again!

I have lived on Pender Island since 1985. I fell in love with the island the moment I stepped off the ferry because of its breath-taking scenery and wonderful people. It is still the reason I keep coming back and sharing it with friends and family like yours.

Why they chose this property

"Eagle Rock" sits up high on the rock facing the ocean facing West. There is a stunning eagle's nest nearby, so the eagles fly by right in front of our windows.

It's quiet. We also get the best sleep in our lives there.

It is warm and inviting, and super bright! Because it faces West, there are spectacular sunsets every night.

What makes this property unique

The TWO stone fireplaces on each floor are my second favourite feature. The view is the first feature.

A large eat-in kitchen is a great place for many people to cook, sit at the island, sit at the table, and look at the stunning ocean view. The kitchen has tons of Quartz counter space, stainless steel appliances, and every cooking utensil you need.

Another unique benefit of "Eagle Rock" is that the house loves people. There's an upstairs space for "adults" and a downstairs space for "kids" if you wish. Both floors have two bedrooms each for a total of four and plenty of bathrooms, access to outdoors, decks, and separate kitchens. Our guests have appreciated the space.
