Gather with friends or family to enjoy the fun and refreshing gin clear waters of Fence Lake! Relish great boating and fishing on this full REC lake, explore connected lakes on the ten lake chain, do some eagle watching, bike or ATV on one of the nearby trails, play tennis or shoot hoops on the private court, or just sit and relax (indoors or out) to enjoy the beautiful view. Memories are made here!

Cap off your day with your favorite beverage as you lounge to watch the spectacular sunset! When you're tuckered out from all the fun and fresh lake air, retreat to this rustic, cozy, and newly remodeled north woods cottage. There are 2 comfy bedrooms, (1 Queen, 1 Twin/Full Bunk bed and trundle),and a spacious bathroom with shower, which make this the perfect cottage for a family or for two couples to share.

Enjoy cooking out on the full deck with 3 tables, charcoal grill, and fire pit. There's also a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and everything you need to prepare and serve meals. Minocqua, Woodruff and Lac du Flambeau are all within 15 minutes drive if you prefer to dine out or carry in. Try one of Wisconsin's famous supper clubs in the area.

Guests will enjoy a private (shared with one other cottage) dock. Bring your own boat, or enjoy the use of our paddle boat and kayaks.

Guests will find this the perfect retreat - removed from any small town by just a short drive from favorite areas for dining, shopping and plenty of other activities and attractions including Lake of the Torches Casino and Fred Sheer's Lumberjack Show. This cottage also includes Smart TV with high-speed Wi-Fi. Pets considered. Parking and garage space available. Free on site laundry facilities available during warmer months.

Great Weekend Stay

Stayed at this rental with my sister for a getaway weekend. The house had everything we needed and owner Neil is very responsive to questions. Spent time on the lake in the kayaks. Beautiful and quiet lake. Thanks for a great weekend stay!

We thought the cabin was great. Everything you could want provided. Comfy furniture and beds, great kitchen appliances. Great deck with tables and umbrellas!The only change we would make to a Loyola Cottage is railings on the steps to the main door.

Wonderful cabin on Fence Lake

It is clear that this property is loved and well maintained. The grounds were beautiful, and quiet. We enjoyed the tennis court, the dock and the deck. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we plan to go back!

Just the right size.

This was a quaint cabin, just what we were looking for! Very clean and comfortable. My boys loved the bunk beds. Neil made sure we got in ok and if we needed anything. Would recommend this place!

Family getaway up north

This was just what our very busy family needed! Neil was a great host and quick to communicate. There was a bit of a mix up and he accommodated us so that our stay was not disrupted. The cabin for our needs perfectly and we would definitely stay again!!

Perfect Getaway

My wife and I came up here with our dogs after our wedding for our Honeymoon Light so to speak since we love the area. We had an amazing time at the cabin. Everything is up to date and spacious. It was nice having a washer and dryer onsite for when we needed it. Even had the dock for the boat we rented. Overall we would give this place a 10/10. We plan to come back and stay here again.

Quiet cozy cabin on Fence Lake

This property is clean, comfortable and stocked with lots of little extras you would never have thought of. Our favorite parts were the wonderful wrap around deck and the campfire. Our dog loved it here as well. ( One side note: the ice maker did not work, but there was ice available in the freezer in the unattached garage. )

Family getaway

We had a 3 day stay with our 4 and 6 year old boys for their first “up north” experience. They very much enjoyed hunting for crayfish and snails by the dock. The water was nice and clear. Neil was very responsive and luckily we didn’t need any help during our stay but he called to check in that everything went well with check in. Only 10 minutes or so from all the experiences in Minocqua!

Family Getaway

My family of 6, with our dog, enjoyed our week get-a-way. The cabin was very cozy and fit us well. Everything we could possibly need was there available for us to use. We even enjoyed some games during the rain. The water's clear and shallow off the dock for younger kids. My girls enjoyed catching crawfish. MY older boys also caught some nice size bass right off the dock. Location is great. Neil was great to work with and very responsive when it came to questions. We'd definitely go back.

Very Satisfied

Place was clean and neat and more impressive than the photos. Neil was a great host. So accommodating. We didn't need to take the things noted in our reservation list as most all of it was supplied. Didn't know that we would have great Internet service and streaming TV. The Fence Lake chain was the highlight for us. Enjoyed nature and wildlife. . . . eagles and loons. Loved that we could keep the boat on the dock and launch it nearby. Other highlights included the beautiful sunsets. Sunsets and wine went very well together. :)

Another great stay

We stayed here for the second year if a row around the 2nd week in August. Cabin was cozy and very clean. Everything we needed was easily found in the kitchen. Master bed was extremely comfortable and the bunks in the other room was well liked by our 11 year old and 15 year old children. Good internet (I had some work work to do). Nice TV for those down time moments. Location of cabin is fantastic. Far enough out of town to get the Northwoods feel, but never further than 15 minutes to get to any "town" stuff you would ever want. A favorite for breakfast is Lake Placid Inn and that is only minutes away. Neil (owner) is great to work with. Very accommodating and responsive to questions...often answering in minutes. An added bonus was the tennis/basketball court...my son and I played pickle ball for the first time. Dock was nice. Wind on the lake made it tricky on some days, but no fault of the dock. Overall, we really really like it here.

Neil is an excellent host--great communication, the property is extremely well maintained, and the rental process couldn't have been easier. It's a great rental and would definitely recommend!

Met all of our needs! But check ahead if bringing a boat.

I brought my wife and two children (10, 14) and our dog Oakley to this lakefront property August 7-13th and it was our first time in this area. First, the cottage had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for the 4 of us, with a comfortable master room and then a side room with bunk beds. The living room was comfortable and adjoining kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. There is even a dishwasher. We spent our days hiking (Raven trail) or exploring downtown Minocqua or Woodruff. Mini Golfing and Go-Carts. My wife would also go to the casino several times, which is only 6 minutes away. We thought the location was perfect. You are down a little private drive, but are 15-20 minutes from town, groceries, food, etc. We ate out about twice a day (and were so looking forward to that)...and tried many of local establishments. There is a nice sized TV that has access to HULU, Disney, Netflix, etc if you have accounts (and we did). Internet was great. We spent time on the water of course and I had brought my 17ft Lund to do fishing and tubing. The launch is very nice on Fence Lake and is across the lake. The cottage's dock arrangement (shaped like an L) did make some of this challenging and I had to be creative every time I used my boat to get it to fit on the end of the dock because of the pontoon that is there and that the water is very shallow at the sides of the dock. In the end, we made it work, but I recommend checking with the owner if you have a boat of any size first. Overall, we loved our stay and owner was very responsive (like when we could not find tennis rackets). Made wonderful memories.

nice cottage on Fence Lake

perfect fall getaway to northern Wisconsin....beautiful fall colors, quiet lake without the summer crowds...well equipped kitchen and charcoal grill so we could prepare all our meals.
