The cottage is centrally located between the beautiful beach towns of South Haven (10 min) and St. Joe (22 min) a perfect location to explore all the beauty west MI has to offer! VanBuren State Park is less than 5 minutes away with a beautiful beach, sand dunes & walking trails. Shopping, beach days, restuarants, berry picking, local breweries & wineries are all a short trip away!

Great Labor Day Weekend

Stayed here for a weekend away with friends. Property was very clean and spacious. The beach down the road is beautiful and not crowded at all. Host was very good communicating with our group. Would stay here again.

Such a great family trip

Carrie was extremely responsive and the house had everything we needed for our week in South Haven. It was great to be in walking distance of a beach and it was a quick drive to downtown or other beaches. Would highly recommend.

Everything was good and perfect . The only comment is this is difficult with kids to walk to the beach - the distance is ok but the road is not extremely safe to walk with kids - no sidewalks

Great for Family Gathering

We booked this house for a 50th anniversary celebration for my parents. In total we had 6 adults and 5 kids in the house, and it worked great for that. Great layout with the dedicated bunk room for the kids. The outdoor fireplace was nice, and deer would come visit the neighbors lawn around dusk.

Great Place for Large Family Gatherings

Great area to relax and enjoy our family. Having 3 bathrooms and a bed for everyone was a plus. Game rooms were a big hit during a rainy stay. Outdoor patio is very nice and has plenty of seating but has limited grass area. We enjoyed walking down to the beach and took advantage of the Kal Haven trail which is close by. Carrie was a wonderful host, providing us with information prior to our visit that made checking in and out extremely easy.

Sweet 16 at the Beach

We had 12 people with us. Plenty of room for everyone, 3 bathrooms, game room and lots of awesomeness! Check in and out super easy. Carrie, the host, was fantastic - personable, responsible and even gave us some personal touches at check in. Photos are spot on. Master is attached to bunk room so hubby and I opted to the bedroom off living room. We BBQ’d, day at beach, photos at sunset, s’mores at the pit. Unforgettable and lots of fun memories made!

Wonderful house, amenities, and location

The house was very clean and certainly met our expectations, We had three families in the house with plenty of room for us. The house’s amenities of billiards, air hockey, golf arcade were played many times by all ages— a huge vote by the youth. If the opportunities arises, this house is a re-visit given its proximity to the lake via the close access road and a few minutes up the road to South Haven beach.

Perfect spot for a family vacation!

We had a mix of adults, teens and children. Everyone had space... teens loved basement, little ones had fun in bedroom and adults enjoyed outdoor area. Walk to beach is very doable or you can drive the short distance and pay $10 parking fee. Saw deer and wild turkies in backyard! Short drives to South Haven and Saugatuck. We loved it!

Family vacation

The house was spacious and beautiful. My husband and I travel to MI every year with our 3 adult married children and their growing families. This house tops the list of places we’ve stayed. There’s a lot of privacy while being only minutes from several beautiful beaches, excellent food choices, and charming towns. Carrie was easy to reach, extremely friendly, and left several little touches that made this trip one of the best. The “walk” to the nearest beach was a safer drive due to the road and close proximity to the highway, but that didn’t distract from the overall experience.

Weekend getaway

I rented the house for myself and 13 other girls for my sister’s bachelorette party. The house was perfect for a weekend away. The outside area is spacious and nice for an evening opening gifts and playing games. The beach was a short walk away and the beach area was clean and beautiful. 13 minute drive to South Haven, which is where we went out Saturday night. Shuttle services Moveportz picked us up and dropped us off. The house was clean and the fully stocked kitchen and grill was super nice for meals. Plenty of garbage bags, towels, and toilet paper was provided. You can’t ask for anything more than this listing. To my surprise, the only downfall was the area the rental is in. The surrounding neighborhood/homes/businesses were worn down and not the nicest looking. I didn’t expect this for the West side of Michigan.

Wonderful place

This house was fantastic! We had seven adults and four young kids and the space was perfect for us. Lots of competition around the air hockey table, plenty of room outside for cookouts and marshmallow roasting, and a nice quiet location for resting up from beach trips. We loved it and would highly recommend to anyone!

The host was amazing, very helpful. Super smooth check-in & check-out. The house is extremely clean & has everything you need. The furniture & beds are all very very comfortable. Best house we have rented. The walk to the beach is short with beautiful trees all around. Covert Beach is pretty shallow which worked out nicely with children & teens. It's just a short drive to South Haven & St. Joseph, in which we enjoyed both places. Definitely 5 out of 5 stars for this house & host.
