About Buladean, NC: Buladean is a tiny community located sixty miles northeast of Asheville in the majestic Unaka Mountain Range. It is situated in Mitchell County, which is well known for its incredible scenery and naturally occurring Rhododendron gardens. Buladean is a lovely place to get away from it all, yet a convenient location to many of North Carolina's most exciting attractions.

The North Toe River flows through the county and joins the Nolichucky River, known as one of the best whitewater rafting rivers in the country. Just a few of the other activities available in the area include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, canoe trips and downhill skiing. For those wanting relaxation, it's also the ideal location to catch up on reading amidst scenic views. Lovely Home

The property was well maintained, comfortable and very clean. The kitchen was well equipped. Lots of towels and very nice beddings. The owner is very responsive. Three friends had a relaxing and fun time taking a class at Penland. This house is highly recommended for a stay in the mountains.

The perfect vacation!

The Red Roof cabin was perfect for our group. It is relatively close to Roan mountain (a beautiful hike), and close to Burnsville where we spent an afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the front porch taking in the beautiful view of the mountains. The cabin is well stocked (kitchen, bathrooms and living areas easily accommodated the five of us. Note for those who like a cold beer after a hike, the cabin is in a dry county!

Fall vacation

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Roof Farmhouse. Loved the house, the porch, the creek, the views, all of it. Dr. Jenkins was a wonderful host and even brought us fresh blueberry muffins one morning. We highly recommend this rental, and look forward to returning in the future.

Great long weekend at the Red Roof country house

Excellent getaway property. Plenty of outdoors to enjoy in surrounding mountains and rivers. House is well appointed and kitchen has all appliances (including small appliances), utensils and tableware a family needs. Excellent host provided ample information in advance about the property and area attractions. Host was very welcoming and available if any need was to arise.

Wonderful place to stay!

What a great few days we spent at the Red Roof Farmhouse! From picking fresh blueberries and red raspberries and walking by the beautiful trout stream, to enjoying the flowers and breathtaking views from the red rockers on the front porch, our time spent there was incredible. The house could not have been more well-stocked for us. Our hosts even provided us with a bottle of wine, fresh baked cookies and local strawberries. He also told us colorful stories and history of the area. Fascinating and gracious hosts! We're already excited about our next visit!

This property is more than we could have hoped for!!

We will definitely go back!! We stayed at The Red Roof Farmhouse for a quick family getaway and it was amazing. We were only there for two nights and that wasn't nearly enough time to enjoy everything that this property has to offer. Thank you Mr. Jenkins for providing such an amazing place and hopefully we will get to met you next time we are there.

Amazing 4th of July Weekend Getaway

We had such a restful, tranquil, fun 4th of July weekend getaway as a family. The place was exactly as perfect as in the pictures. Our son ended up catching a huge brown trout in the creek based on on our hosts' kind guidance while the rest of us relaxed on the porch. Speaking of the Jenkins family, they were all incredibly welcoming and hospitable -- we look forward to a return visit in the future!

NW Carolina getaway

Wonderful home with plenty of space inside. Brothers and I rented the place as it was an hour away from Bristol and really enjoyed the scenery and peacefullness of the quiet town. Dollar general across the street had all the basic essentials for breakfast. Highly recommend staying if you're looking to get away from the hustle of a city.

Beautiful Property

Extremely accurate to the beautiful pictures! Dr. Jenkins stops by and makes you feel extremely welcome. He is amazingly hospitable and his home is gorgeous! Would definitely recommend and book again! Definitely a setting for any new traditions!

Never disappoints!!

This is our home away from home. We look forward to sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Sitting until the sun sets makes for a great ending to a busy day on vacation. We look forward to our stay each year. Our son loves to get outside and just run in front of the house. Roger and his family are great hosts.

Great Christmas Get Away

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the RRF! We needed a change of scenery since we weren't looking forward to our first Christmas without my Mom and the RRF fit the bill; everything so peaceful and quiet. Mr. Jenkins has a lovely property and was terrific to work with. We enjoyed the comfort of the home and his wonderful hospitality. We took a day trip into Asheville and had fun exploring the town. I can only imagine how beautiful the area is in fall and spring! We hope to be back again!

A stand out property

Everything about this property was as advertised. In a decade of renting properties thru VRBO, I have never seen one that is so frequently rented and yet remains in such a high state of cleanliness and repair... I chalk this up to an engaged owner who personally ensures his product is the best. Will stay here again in the future without hesitation.

Breath takingly beautiful

BOOK IT!!!! My finance and I booked this property specifically for the beautiful moutain views. We were looking for a private, beautiful, memorable, serene location to hold a private wedding ceremony. We are so glad we found this one. Our wedding day was absolutely everything we wanted, and more. The views are better than a photo can capture. The host is warm and friendly. You will book as a customer and check out feeling like a friend. We are already planning our next trip to this property and will return many times in the years ahead. Book it! You will not be disappointed.

Best relaxation in years

We had the best get away for relaxation in years. The view was amazing. We lost track of all the hours we spent on the front porch in rockers and sitting by the stream. We loved listening to the church chimes/music echo in the valley. The Dollar Store was convenient for snacks. If you want to experience relaxation and just admire Gods handiwork and listen to nature, this is your place.

Beautiful week on the mountains

Beautiful home—comfortable beds, lots of relaxing spaces, and a fantastic porch with a great view of the mountains. There was plenty of space both for us to hang out together and for us to get away from each other when necessary! Kitchen is very complete. The berry patch has a constant supply of summer berries rotating into season. Roger was very responsive and organized, making sure we had everything we needed. I can’t imagine a better host.

Amazing Girlfriend Getaway

There were 6 of us in this home for a three night stay of Bible Study, board games and fellowship. The home is amazing. Even more beautiful covered in a blanket of white snow! Everything you could possibly imagine you might need is there and waiting for you. The Jenkins family were amazing hosts, so many extra touches to assure our stay was excellent. If you need a beautiful, quiet place to get away from everything look no further you will NOT be disappointed! We will be back!

Thanksgiving at Red Roof

We spent Thanksgiving weekend here with 4 teenagers. Had a wonderful time. The house has everything you need. Well equipped kitchen, beautiful furnishings. Plenty of room for everyone to have a little quiet time when needed. The kids especially enjoyed the wifi, of course. Didn't get a chance to fish in the creek but we're looking forward to coming back in the summer to try that out.

Outstanding View!

The Red Roof Farmhouse has everything you need . . . and if you need something the owner is quick to get it for you! We appreciated the warm hospitality from the owners and the delicious home baked goodies. My only suggestion for improvement is the king mattress in the back room of the farmhouse needs to be replaced. It was quite hard. The view is worth it all!
