Family Bonding

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect property for our family get together. There was everything we needed for a fun weekend without having to leave the property. The fully-equipped cabin was clean with special touches that gave it personality and a homey feeling. It would be difficult to decide if the game room or the lake was the favorite site of most of the family. Personally, I loved the wrap around porch where I had an excellent view of the lake and the large living area where we played guitars and sang. This is our 14th annual trip to the mountains. This is definitely one of the top two favorite locations. The owners and managers were so nice and personable. We hope to return to Cameron House.

Owner's Response: Debbi & I are so glad that you and your family were able to spend some great quality time together. We are also happy that you couldn't figure out which part of the property was your favorite. We are glad you enjoyed it all. We would love to host your 15th reunion next year. If your family grows you can always stay at our other home just 5 minutes away. It sleeps 22 people and is called Lazy Bear Lodge # 1027658

Cozy home with a stunning view!! A great place for a Family to unwind!

  • 5 of 5

We certainly enjoyed our time there! The view from your home is stunning. We loved having coffee on that deck every morning and afternoon. The house was cozy, comfortable, decorated beautifully and adequately supplied. We were able to prepare a Thanksgiving feast for 14 people and it was great! The kids and adults enjoyed the game room and paddling in the lake. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us!!

This place was perfect for our three families with teenagers!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here and will definitely be coming back! The kids really loved the huge game room with pool table, ping pong table, foosball, air hockey card table and every board game you can think of! They had a fire pit, boats and bikes to use and a hot tub! Very friendly owners and they had a bottle of wine and s’mores waiting for Us when we got there!! Perfect place!

surprised by so much

  • 5 of 5

We booked the Cameron House for our family to call home while our son was getting married at Willow Creek Farms in Cleveland, GA. We're from California so were surprised by the southern style and extensive decorations on every vertical and most horizontal surfaces. The pictures are mere shadows of how many bunnies, chickens, dogs, horses, birds and BOOKS inhabit this unique home. The game room was a life saver as the day of the wedding it rained from sunrise to sunset, so the groomsmen took it over rather than hiking togeether that morning. We invited "a few" relatives of the bride and groom over for a brunch the day after the wedding. The flow of the house and expansive dual living areas accomodated the 40+ people who came. The hot tub was a welcome treat for us easily chilled west coasters. Only wish we'd been able to utilize the large deck, front picnic and play area, and fire pit by the lake. It was just too cold, rainy and windy on 10/28 and 29. We're actually thinking of coming back with the whole fam, most of whom live in California, to enjoy the area with our son and new wife who live in Atlanta. We did have a couple of issues with the wifi and a fireplace not working, but the owners and local care taker were super quick to work with us to fix the problems. We told the owners we we're having a brunch on Sunday and asked if they had a large coffee maker and a few carafes. They didn't, but went out and bought them for the house anyway. Hospitality and excellence. Kudos!

Great

  • 5 of 5

The home is beautiful, you couldn't ask for more. Wonderfully decorated and equipped everything you could possibly need. The game room is great you can have a ton of fun. The lake with the dock and use of the boats is awesome. My favorite place is sitting on the deck and taking in all the scenery and the peacefulness.

Wonderful Home!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 10 ladies stayed here for our annual club trip. What a wonderful home and the owners were so nice, quick to respond to any questions we had. The home was furnished so nicely and tastefully decorated with so many wonderful unique items. The house had everything you would need. Best stocked home we have every rented, we lacked for nothing! The special touches the owners provide to the guest was so nice. So quiet and peaceful to sit on deck and look at lake or sit on front porch on swing. Hot tub was enjoyable as the night got cooler. Great location to downtown Cleveland, Helen, wineries, grocery, antique places are everywhere. If you have time go to Smith House in Dahlonega. Good food served family style at table and the town is so cute with shops. For lunch try the Soda Fountain Cafe in downtown Cleveland. Great food and prices! Wendell's for breakfast or lunch for some good southern food. Betty's was a neat general grocery store in Helen and stop on the way to Helen to Nora Mills Granary - a grist mill and country store. If you are into Cabbage Patch kids, don't miss the Babyland where they are born!

About Robert & Debbi Sloane

We are native New Yorkers, born and raised, but have lived in South Florida for the past 20 years, where we work and play and enjoy our family; especially our twin grandchildren who turn 5 this October.

Robert & Debbi Sloane purchased this house in 2013

Why Robert & Debbi Sloane chose Cleveland

Our family vacationed here in 2012 and fell in love with the area, and knew we had to come here again and again. It took some doing, but we finally convinced the previous owners, Carol and Greg Crumley, to sell!

Northeast Georgia is called the 'gateway to the mountains'. With balmy days, and cool nights, this home melds both of our worlds, (New York and South Florida), into one.

We are very fortunate to be able to share this amazing vacation experience with others.

What makes this house unique

Quiet Seclusion, Spectacular Views, In the heart of Wine Country, close to shopping and all attractions. Appealing to everyone!
