Our mountain retreat in Asheville was perfect! Every aspect of the house exceeded our expectations. Beds in all the bedrooms were comfortable, sheets soft and clean, separate ensuite bathrooms were a much appreciated added touch. Living room couch an chairs were cozy and the wrap around porch was enjoyed with a cup of coffee in the am.The kitchen was very well stocked with all needed appliances, gadgets and spices. We appreciated the quality and availability of the paper products, soaps and laundry detergent as well since most VRBO's only provide a sparse amount. The location was fabulous on the mountain and was so very dark at night (appreciated for sure) and quiet. We even were visited by a local family of bears, which we enjoyed watching once we retreated from the firepit. We would definitely stay here again for all the reasons noted.
Nice living area space with kitchen along with a peaceful location in the woods (But close to Asheville and other nice attractions!) We enjoyed our time here.
Great location with a view. Place looked great and was clean. Spacious. Room to spread out. Quiet. Close enough to nearby downtown. Pretty place to vacation.
We had a great stay in Asheville. We were there for a friend's birthday party, most of the activities were at their nearby home but everything about this property was as advertised. We would definitely stay there again.
What a beautiful home nestled in the mountainside! If you are a morning coffee lover, this is the house for you. It has the most well-appointed coffee and espresso bar we have ever seen in a vacation property, and the multiple levels of decks surrounding the home are the perfect place to enjoy a cup as the sun rises over the peaks. Just loved our stay here.
This property was an ideal stay for our family. The property was as pictured and the kitchen was very well equipped. We were traveling with our late 80s parents so the lovely porch was enjoyable for their wildlife viewing while we hiked.
Lovely house with well planned furnishings and function. Nice touches to make your stay easy and comfortable. Quiet neighborhood with beautiful trees and views of the mountains.
The house was great for a girls weekend. The layout was perfect for us especially with 3 ensuites. The outdoor decks and screened porch were amazing. Nicely updated. The neighbors were friendly! Beds were very comfy.
The property was perfect for our family get together. Lots of spaces to hang out and chat inside and out. The decks were easily accessible from the main living area. The fire circle was a fun spot to hang out and we really enjoyed the kitchen.
It is very quiet at the property and the bedrooms are very comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom.
Beautiful home, sitting in the mountains of Asheville!
This was a beautiful property set among a lot of trees. The outdoor sitting area was great as was the outdoor fire pit. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked, as was the house itself. Plenty of trash bags, coffee, coffee filters, some tea, bathroom supplies. We even found some flashlight!
Our stay could not have been better. The house was beautiful and I wish I had more time to spend there. The downstairs bedroom gave my partner and myself the privacy we needed sharing the house with four other adults. We will definitely be back in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Darlene Witham or Ron Mashburn
We are two professionals that live in the Tampa, Florida area. We've traveled the world with our two sons and have always ended up coming back to Asheville. It feels like home to us and now it is! We fell in love with Mill Grove the minute we saw the real estate listing.
After all the stressful days (and nights) of law practice and the endless hours of being a college professor, we hide out at Mill Grove in Asheville. It grounds us and we need that from time to time.
We look forward to sharing the peace and quiet of Mill Grove with you!
Why they chose this property
Our family fell in love with the Asheville area many many years ago. We visited Asheville 5-6 times a year and one day asked ourselves - Why don't we just buy a place up there? Living in Florida we love to escape the heat and be able to 'go outside.' We love the smell of fresh wildflowers, and the majestic mountains, the people are always nice and friendly, and we love all the delicious restaurants in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Black Mountain.
What makes this property unique
Mill Grove offers three ensuites, an open floor plan in the kitchen/living room/dining room, large windows to view the ancient Blue Ridge Mountains, over 1,500 square feet of decking (over half covered), surrounded by native trees and plants, a one-of-kind custom designed fire pit, a very quiet neighborhood, and most of all it's about an 18-minute drive to downtown Asheville.
