Serenity and relaxation

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this place is wonderful. Absolute serenity. The house is clean with an updated and fully stocked kitchen. We had a lovely conversation with Chuck, one of the owners, and really enjoyed it.Make sure you say hello to the two little Nigerian dwarf goats that roam the property. Truly a great place to spend a long weekend.

Owner's Response: Great guests! We loved discussing genealogy, and goats! Lots of history on both accounts!

Beautiful property for peaceful family trip

  • 5 of 5

We stayed on this beautiful hillside for 9 nights and asked for an extra night! It’s overlooking pastures, their pond and you can see Pisgah (i think it’s pisgah) mountain in the distance. The kids loved coming back each evening to catch fireflies and “build their fort” with sticks from the woods leaned up against the perfect trees for kids to play around in the yard. And they loved all the bunny sightings and when the geese would visit from the pond! Hike up above to a beautiful wooded part and we were so incredibly delighted what a short sweet walk it was through the pasture to our favorite lunch spot/market called Troyers where the kids loved to feed their chickens and visit the hilarious alpacas:). So much to do with all the great antique shops around, Biltmore, chimney rock, Lake Lure and if you have kids I highly recommend the wildlife center nearby, it had animals for my daughter and basketball courts for my son! The man we met who keeps the property, Thomas, couldn’t have been nicer. It felt very private, yet we knew he was around should we need anything(which we didn’t). The house was exceptionally clean, accommodating, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. We arrived late, so we were so grateful it even had starter coffee our 1st morning waking to that clean mountain air! Wonderful instructions, communication and gracious hosts...thank you so much for a much needed peaceful time on your beautiful mountain! -Hollie

Dog Peoples Paradise- mountain farm

  • 5 of 5

We wanted a secluded Mountain house for our vacation with our 3 large dogs and thats exactly what we got. This 2 BR house is on a mountainside with 50 acres surrounding it,a large pond complete with Canadian geese and Mallard ducks. My dogs loved the entire experience as we did. Close to Ashville without the high cost-very reasonable rates. A great value.Must stay for dog people. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful home with beautiful views

  • 5 of 5

My husband, dog and I stayed at the guest house for 5 days, and it was PERFECT. We had so much hiking and a few other day trips planned, but we were so pleased with the house, and impressed by the views that we ended up staying home on the back patio to relax and listen to the birds most days of our visit.

The drive up to the property is serene, meandering, and the azaleas that line the driveway were in full bloom (your very own mini-Biltmore garden). Inside the house itself, pretty much everything has been updated. There's new appliances, flooring, counters, furniture (some is vintage/antique and so cute). This was by far the best, and most thoughtfully renovated vacation property I have ever seen. As an interior designer I tend to kind of "pick apart" rentals, but I had nothing critical to say about this place (husband got a real kick out of my speechlessness). We were so comfortable and "at-home" at Moore's pond, and we absolutely can't wait to visit again!

Terrific place to stay outside of Asheville!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with this rental! It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. As long as you have a car, it is very conveniently located for exploring Asheville. It is in a more rural area with beautiful grounds and views. Due to our busy schedules and the poor weather, we unfortunately weren't able to explore the property, but we hope to be back again!
