Mountain Retreat - 1 bedroom Lodge located by Forbes Park & Fort Garland

McMillen’s Mountain Retreat is located in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Southern Colorado off Highway 160, between Walsenburg & Fort Garland just outside the gate of the Forbes Park community.

Our lodge is divided into two units. Unit #1 is Grand View Lodge offering 1 bedroom and one bath. Unit #2 is Evergreen Lodge offering a two bedrooms with one bath. There is an adjoining door between the units to allow rental of the full duplex bring the total to 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and 2 kitchens!

You will enjoy all the comforts of home with a full kitchen, a fireplace, hi speed Internet, smart TV and a comfortable living room. These fully furnished units are beautiful appointed with everything you may need right down to the linens and dishes! Just bring your personal items and food supplies!!

We love the location of our mountain lodge the area offers many outdoor activities and day trips from the Great Sand Dunes, Zapata Falls, San Luis, La Veta, Cuchara, Bear Lake, Blue Lake, Alamosa and many more area attractions. After a busy day come home and relax to one of our gorgeous sunsets!

1st Anniversary trip

Quiet secluded location. Cute home with great amenities. No AC but open windows provides good breeze. Rough washboard road to the property but that’s not the owners fault. Owner very responsive and attended to our needs promptly. We had a great time!

Forbes Park is Beautiful

We chose this wonderful cottage because of its quaintness and proximity to Forbes Park (where we have some land). The cabin was very clean, cozy and beautiful. Perfect place if you are looking for a get-away from work, traffic and noise and people. My husband and I will definitely be back.

We have been in the vacation rental business since 1995. This unit was purchased in 2021 and totally remodeled into an adjoining duplex. Unit #1 offers 1 bedroom/1 bath that adjoins Unit #2 offering 2 bedrooms/1 bath unit. Located in the beautiful Sangre Cristo Mountains with breathtaking views. The area is known for its beauty and offers great outdoor activities. We love the cool summers, beautiful wildlife and abundant outdoor activities the area has to offer.
