Welcoming Country Farmhouse

Our gorgeous country farmhouse is sure to be a relaxing getaway for you and the ones you love. Enjoy the mountain views while sitting on the deck or soaking in the hot tub. This home away from home is just a short drive to downtown Elkins. Be sure to check out the neighboring Allegheny Highlands Trail for your morning walk or evening bike ride. Area ski resorts are favorite year-round attractions and are only an hour away. Enjoy all of nature's beauty during your next farmhouse stay!

Montrose is a quiet little community on the outskirts of Elkins. Expect a fifteen-minute drive into Elkins for any of your major shopping.

The Allegheny Highlands Trail is absolutely beautiful for your walking, jogging, or biking needs. The connector trail will lead you straight into downtown Elkins or into downtown Parsons in neighboring Tucker County.

Ski areas Canaan, Timberline, and White Grass are within a one-hour drive, and Snowshoe is one and a half hours.

In winter months, expect snowy or icy roads. AWD or 4x4 is recommended.

Please note this home does have stairs and bedrooms on all three floors.

We provide a starter set of the basics (toilet paper, trash liner, dishwasher pods, hand soaps, and paper towels).

Strip any used beds, gather used towels, and store extra beds
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks, and take out the trash
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please remove sheets from bed and place on floor. Leave the bedding and pillows on the bed.
Do not place loose items in the outdoor trash cans. This allows for sanitary removal.
Make sure all windows are closed and thermostat is set to 63 in winter and 73 in summer.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Family visit

Wow!!!

The property was beautiful, well kept and absolutely amazing. The one thing they didn't have though was any headache meds, tampons, etc but that's totally ok. Definitely will be going back!!

Little Piece of Heaven

If your looking for a quiet fully updated place to get away, this is it. It says farm house but has been completely renovated! It was like staying in a brand new home! Brightly decorated and the lawn was well maintained so you weren't walking through high grass to get to the perfectly placed firepit. Provided plenty of wood, towels for the new hot tub. We loved it and wish our stay could have been longer!

BEAUTIFUL but challenging location

This setting is very private but it's VERY easy to go right past the road. It's worth the effort. Just one caution; the upstairs bedrooms have no curtains, which makes them VERY bright early in the morning. Also, the steps are short, making it difficult to go up and down, especially when carrying suitcases. It's doable, but you must be cautious as there are no handrails and the side is totally open, making it a serious trip risk. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of if children are part of the group. Also, for a place that is designed to sleep so many, not enough seating for relaxing indoors and there are only 4 seats to eat. There are picnic tables outside, but that doesn't always work.

Reunion respite

We were greeted by deer at this picturesque site, once we got up the drive. This cute "barn" was well appointed with plenty of space for us to relax at night after adventures on the river or mountain during the day. The hot tub was much appreciated to offset the cool WV evenings. Just be careful on the stairs since there is no rail and you might want to come in a truck to get up the drive in winter.

Great holiday weekend in Almost Heaven West Virginia

I was searching for a family friendly getaway for Memorial Day weekend that had space for 5, a firepit and a quiet location for star gazing and boy did this deliver! The "barn" as my kids called it was updated inside, had a well stocked kitchen, nice furniture and layout and had plenty of beds for all of us. The fire pit is not pictured and is located along the tree-line across a small flat field from the house. It was lovely and stocked with wood. The house even had a hot tub which we used once after a long day of hiking. The stars at night were amazing and the property felt so secluded and peaceful. I had many questions for the owner and she was very prompt and thorough with her replies. It was a short drive to Elkins and maybe 45 minutes for us to get to Blackwater Falls. Our only negatives were small and likely due to personal taste-- 4 of the beds were too hard for our liking and the king in the basement had a bit of a sink hole in the middle; and the windows don't have curtains or shades so it was very bright in the mornings and I would have preferred the option to close them in a bedroom or bathroom for privacy (even though you are in a secluded area). In any case I highly recommend this rental!!

Perfect getaway

We completely enjoyed our stay here. It was exactly what it said it was and more. Very comfortable, beautiful, clean, and loved the location. I will go back for sure. We loved it.

Amazing Farmhouse!

This place is highly recommended! The check in process was super smooth. Communication with the owner was easy with prompt responses. The house was clean and the amenities were great, fully stocked kitchen to literally be able to cook anything. We enjoyed the firepit, which was stocked with endless firewood and the hottub was a great time. Nice views from the wrap around porch which allows for a peaceful retreat. Def a great place all around, I'll definitely be back! :)
