About this property

Bay Lake Cottage with Private Dock

You’ll have the Entire 500sq ft Cottage & private entry, deck/dock, all to yourself. Located on a 37-acre private ski lake. Key-pad entry, private parking. If you value peaceful sunrises and nature, this will be your slice of heaven. We have wildlife, you may see during your visit, cardinals, bluejays, we have endangered eagles that nest next to our property that fish in the lake! There's a bunny that lives in the pineapple patch at the cottage shoreline.

The cottage was designed for the traveler that enjoys feeling like their home away from home. The cottage has 1 King sterns & fosters luxury plush bed with 1000 thread count luxury sheets, blackout curtains, down pillows, for those with sensitivities to scents, I use scent-free laundry detergent. There are 2 USB charging block bedside (bring your charging cord). 1 Queen sofa bed, please ask for extra linens/pillows.

The cottage has a small sized washer/dryer with detergent and basics like cleaning supplies are provided for those longer staying guests. 2 Smart TV’s with prime video (live tv) and wifi.

There is 1 Bathroom stocked with quality products - shampoo/conditioner, face wash, body lotion, hairdryer with attachments, hairspray, small led lite makeup mirror, makeup remover and luxury towels.

The kitchen will be fully stocked to cook providing pots/pans, oils, condiments and spices. If you want something specific, just ask! You'll have an indoor/outdoor smokeless grill, popcorn machine, k-cup/drip coffee machine with creamers and sugar. I provide a gallon of spring water. The lake has bass, we provide fishing poles/tackle box.

You're welcome to rent our water toys as well. We offer 2 Kayaks & 1 Canoe, 2 life vests and 2 paddles for a fee of $50 per 24hr period. Ask me for pricing if you'd like access throughout your entire stay. We welcome pets, the pet fee $50, 2 pet maximum. If you have a pet, please let me know the breed.

The cottage offers the opportunity to elope or propose. Ask me about the romantic set up details (rose petals, candles, etc.). If you would like to schedule a professional photography session while you're here, ask me for details and go to social media IG username is lakepossibility.

Kristin was an outstanding host. She brought extra blankets on a record cold week and checked in regularly to see we had what we needed and immediately responded to minor needs. I almost gave this a 4 bc of ongoing construction work just outside the property- it was quiet but someone was present regularly and the hole under the cottage and mounds of dirt took away from the atmosphere and experience.

An absolutely perfect stay. Such a quaint cottage with all the amenities. Coffee out on the dock while watching the sun rise over the lake was a favorite moment. Kristin is fantastic, very responsive and helpful. This will be our new "home away from home" for our trips to Tampa

Perfect slice of the north woods in Florida

Greeted with a fun holiday video playing Christmas musicEvery window had beautiful views of amazing Florida landscape and well lit boardwalk to a private pier. The kitchen was well stocked with absolutely everything you need. The refrigerator had condiments and drinks provided for everyone’s pleasure. We cooked breakfast everyday and liked the induction stove and induction cookware.The bathroom was large, well stocked with nice soaps, shampoos, nice hair dryer and luxurious towels. I forgot to pack my makeup remover but surprise, there was some there along with other goodies that I’m not used to!The luxurious bed and quality bedding was very welcoming and comfortable.The lake was so inviting and full of wildlife that we enjoyed coffee every morning on the peaceful dock. The seagulls, ducks and cranes were entertaining with their daily air and water shows!The highlight of my stay was the owner treating me to a private experience feeding the cranes and providing overall excellence!This charming VRBO exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to return!!! Thank you for a wonderful first post retirement vacation!!!

Wonderful stay on a lake

Kristin is a great host! Easy to communicate with, vert responsive, yet you have all the privacy needed for you & your travel buddies. We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys & we all loved the cottage. The boys loved it so much they wanted to move in! Extremely clean, beautifully decorated, & has everything you need to cook a meal, relax & enjoy nature. There are even wild rabbits living in the bushes, so cute! It's close to a lot of restaurants, breweries, ZooTampa, the aquarium & many more great places & attractions. Highly recommend this little gem!

I absolutely loved the cottage. It was clean. It looked elegant for a cottage., it was cozy and quiet.. even though it rained the whole time we were there we really enjoyed it. Everything was there that we needed. We didn’t need anything else, she thought of every detail from personal items for women to bug spray to suntan lotion. She thought of everything. She had fishing stuff, it was a great day. I can’t wait to go back.

A little piece of peace and beauty

I really did not want to leave. I travel a LOT and this is one of my favorite VRBOs I’ve stayed at. Came to Tampa to visit family and actually, extended my stay. It is serene, clean, aesthetically pleasing .. a little hidden oasis with wild bunnies and plethora of birds and greenery. Kristen is lovely and so easy to communicate with. Escaping Reality

My wife and I stayed at this beautiful private cottage tucked away in Tampa. It was our 8 yr anniversary and I was looking for a quick getaway for us but we couldn’t be too far from home (had to make sure our children - 🐈 were ok) our usual pet sitter was unavailable. So the Location was perfect - and can I tell you how cool it was to pull into the gravel driveway get out of the car and open the tan gate that feels like it transports you to another place. The walkway , the view out to the private lake and the cottage itself were all outstanding . To top it all off Kristin (our host) was incredible. Her attention to detail is impeccable, the overall coziness of the cottage , the colors , the decor , the music playing when you check in.. it was all perfect. In addition to that , she remembered that I mentioned it was our anniversary and she wrote the nicest welcome/congratulations card for us and also comped us a bottle of wine ! Too much 😊. You can’t go wrong staying here , if you’re looking for a quiet , private , enchanting location that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into an alternate universe (in a good way) you won’t be disappointed.

The back house was immaculate, had everything we needed, was quite, off the beaten path in the center of a neighborhood that had everything while getting a beautiful lake view. A little about me, I work in IT, I’m a Florida native and certified Myers-Briggs Practitioner. I enjoy gardening, history, learning, cooking and working out. I reside in the main house with my husband Dan and our tiny maltese, Lily only 100 feet away so if you need anything, I’m here.

I take pride in ensuring I provide a ‘home away from home’ experience to my guests. I look forward to hosting you!

The cottage is tucked away on a dead end street with the sound of birds but you're just a few minutes from all the conveniences you need - tons of grocery stores, restaurants, retail, Busch Gardens only 15 mins away. Located about 20 mins from Tampa International airport, South Tampa, shopping at International Plaza, Hard Rock Casino, Historic Ybor City, Downtown Tampa, Wiregrass Mall, Tampa Premium Outlets, and Urban Air. Moffitt is only 15 mins away as well.

What makes this property unique

The Cottage has mature landscaping on a large private ski lake. You'll have a dock, all to yourself. It's very quiet and private. The cottage is located on a dead end street with tons of wildlife including endangered eagles, ducks roaming the lake during the sunset, it's truly a serene place that is very quiet. The cottage is located in Carrollwood near major retail and stores, allowing for optimum convenience.
