Stay with us and be just a block and 1/2 to Boulder Bay and all its amazing BOATING/FISHING/SWIMMING.
Our beautifully appointed (~1400 square foot) home was built in 2007 with attention to every detail. It has all the amenities you'll need for a relaxing, fun holiday in the mountains. Located just a block & 1/2 from exclusive Boulder Bay park fishing and just minutes to several trailheads, the Snow Summit Sky Chair and the quaint Big Bear Lake Village makes it ideal for avid hikers, mountain bikers or just a family who wants to be right at the center of all that Big Bear has to offer.
Walk to Boulder Bay and stunning Big Bear Lake, the corner market and much more. Our home is only 1/2 mile from the Performing Arts Center, restaurants, and all of Big Bear's main attractions. We are situated on a quiet residential street, ideal for the kids to go outside and ride bikes or play some soccer in our next door field.
***NOTE: The MARTA shuttle stops right across the street from our house and can take you (and your bike) to Snow Summit resort (the stop is at Big Bear Blvd & Summit Blvd) to ride up the Sky Chair. We are the very first (eastern) stop in Boulder Bay at Willow Landing and Blue Jay so you can all come and go around town as you like without having to carpool!***
You will enjoy our open floor plan, fantastic for keeping your family together while you cook, eat, play games or watch a movie. The kitchen is fully equipped, complete with all the amenities to create a gourmet meal for your family.
Cozy up to a wonderful gas-start wood burning fire in the living room, step out onto the front deck and enjoy a peaceful evening with a glass of wine or gather on the back deck and listen to the wind blow through the trees. Once you are here you won't want to go home.
The Master bedroom has a king size bed and full ensuite bath; the 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and shares a full bath with the 3rd bedroom which sports two sets of twin bunk beds (4 twin beds total). There is also a full-size sofa bed in the living room in case someone in your party snores!!
There is ample parking in the large driveway including space for a boat trailer or RV and since our home is a one-story, we are child; elderly and dog-friendly.
The highlight of our home has to be its close proximity to $1M newly renovated Boulder Bay Park. The park is located on the shores of what many people believe is the lake’s most scenic spot. Ringed by dramatic boulders and with two stone islands, Boulder Bay is appropriately named.
Completely protected with calm, tranquil water, Boulder Bay is a favorite spot for kayakers, canoers and anglers. Considered the most photographed spot on Big Bear Lake, Boulder Bay pictures have adorned calendars, ads and magazine covers for years.
At Boulder Bay park there is generous parking, clean restrooms, a covered pavilion, lots of picnic tables, several benches and a public fishing pier. There is also a bit of sandy beach where you can dip your tootsies in the water, stretch out on blankets and soak in the sunshine, toss a frisbee or enjoy a picnic meal under clear blue crisp spring skies.

We all felt at home. Lots of space for the whole family. We ended up spending more time at house because we felt so comfortable. The house was close to everything we wanted to do. We would definitely plan to stay here again when we visit Big Bear in the future.
Great vacation home - close to everything
We loved our stay at Willow Cabin. The home was clean, kitchen was well stocked, great outside fenced space for the dogs, large deck to relax on. We loved the open concept kitchen , dining and living room area. Everything appeared to be updated. This home was also close to everything. We will definitely stay at Willow Cabin on our next trip back to Big Bear Lake.
Everything went well, good communication, house was great, location was great - highly recommended!
This is a great cabin!
We really enjoyed staying at this Boulder Bay cabin. The cabin is exactly as described. It is located on a quiet street just of the main road, about 10 minutes from the Big Bear Village. The size is perfect for 2 families to share. We look forward to renting this cabin again.
Lots of potential, needs some TLC
This was a last minute two night getaway over Valentine's Day as a surprise to my wife. First off, the location is great. Walking distance to the lake, a market, etc. The house itself was great. The yard was great, there was even a little brook flowing through the front yard, we loved it! I would have loved to have given this property a 5-Star review but unfortunately I can't for two main reasons.
First, the owners need to put in two to three thousand dollars towards the interior of the house. The carpet has seen better days, as have the many throw rugs conveniently placed throughout the house. The curtains in the master bedroom were about a foot too long and would drag on the ground and get stepped on every time we opened them. The living room furniture was old and felt dirty and as others have mentioned the tv's are old and tiny. Yes, Big Bear is definitely a place you would like to spend most of your time outdoors, but come on, it's 2017, spend $150.00 on a couple of new tv's for the bedrooms. Also, how about providing a coffee maker and coffee beans? The pillows on the bed were so old, hard and flat that I literally woke up with a headache. My wife and I went out and bought new pillows the next day.
Second, there were just WAY too many checkout rules! When I received the welcome email after we booked the property, I was blown away by the number of checkout requirements there were. We were told to strip the sheets off the beds, strip the pillow cases off the pillow cases, put the dirty sheets and towels in the pillow cases, do the dishes and/or load the dishwasher and take out all the trash to the dump area about a 1/2 miles from the house (yeah, that's just what I wanted to do upon checkout, fill up my Range Rover with trash!). I understand the owners have said they can't leave trash outside, but can't the cleaners do this when they clean the house? Isn't that why we pay a cleaning fee?
My wife and I own two vacation rentals in Sedona and we make sure that all of the furnishings, linens, etc. are new, clean and up to date. We provide fresh coffee beans, a coffee grinder, coffee maker and a French Press. We also provide shampoo, conditioner, body soap, body lotion and even toothbrushes. We would never THINK of asking our guests to do their own dishes or strip the beds. Again, that's what the cleaning fee is for.
So all in all this is a great location and a nice house. It just needs some TLC and the owners need to relax on their checkout rules.
Thanks so much for your comments. It's important to my wife and I that we hear what our guests need so we can make them as comfortable and happy as possible. We're continuously improving the cabin (we stay there as often as we can!) and will take careful note of your concerns.
Our cleaning fees are among the lowest in Big Bear - we decided to keep the fees low in return for our guests putting a little extra effort in when they leave.
Regarding TVs... there's a brand new 60" in the open living area with HD cable. Very few people ever watch TVs in the bedrooms (or mention problems with them) so there's never been a reason to replace them, but we will certainly look into that. We also have a coffee machine in the kitchen for all of our guests to use.
The trash situation is the same for everyone in Big Bear.. there is no trash service and trash can't be left outside so everyone has to drop their trash and recycling off at the trash center round the corner.
Phil, thanks again for staying, and for your honest review.
Great place to stay
Our family had a great weekend at the willow cabin. Everything we needed and more was provided. Our kids enjoyed the games and loved the bunk beds. We can't wait to go back!
The MARTA shuttle stops right outside our doorstep and takes you to Snow Summit (stop at Big Bear Blvd & Summit Blvd) or right to the base of Bear Mountain. We are the very first (eastern) stop in Boulder Bay at Willow Landing and Blue Jay so you can all come and go to the Village/slopes as you like!
