Beautiful sunsets and awesome panoramic views await you from this Newport Beach, oceanfront location! Just steps from the Newport Pier on the boardwalk, in summer, winter, spring, or fall, this Non-Smoking, oceanfront duplex is definitely all about location, vacation, rest, and relaxation.

Enjoy breakfast or a family barbecue on the huge deck of the upstairs unit in the summer and watch the dolphins swim by or on a winter's morning enjoy your view of Catalina Island. First bedroom has a Queen-size bed, second room has bunkbeds with twin and full beds, and in the living room there is a futon. Two sets of double French doors open up to the rather large deck.

The downstairs unit Listing #430032 offers an equally amazing view to be enjoyed from a patio and on a beautiful winter's night - why not listen to the waves as you enjoy a cup of hot chocolate by the woodburning fireplace. This unit offers the same sleeping arrangements as the upper unit. A sliding glass door opens up to a patio area and a barbecue right on the boardwalk. If we don't have availability in the Upper we may have in the Lower.

Walking distance from great restaurants, live music, and shops in the heart of the Peninsula. If you are looking for activities, there are plenty to choose from - boogie boarding, surfing, check out the World Famous 'Wedge,' sailing, boat rentals, whale watching, Catalina Island, the Balboa Fun Zone, Fishing, shopping at Fashion Island, and more.

This rental is just 15 minutes from John Wayne Airport, 20 minutes from Disneyland, California Adventure, and a short drive from Los Angeles International Airport, Sea World, San Diego Zoo, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, Long Beach Aquarium, Queen Mary, and many other tourist attractions.

About Doug & Sandi Vanian

Sandi and I (Doug) got married in 1997. We lived in this beach house owned by my family for 5 years. As our family grew so did the need for additional space. We now live 10 minutes away. I'm currently CEO of the household :-) and look after the family property and my wife is a flight attendant with Alaska Airlines. We have the best of both worlds - when the property is not occupied by wonderful tenants we get to enjoy all it has to offer.

Convenience and Comfort

We traveled from Mammoth Lakes to retreat from the snow. This home was absolute perfection. The views are incredible, the location is stellar, and service was attentive and personalized. The home is stocked with everything you will need to whip up a quick breakfast and get out in the water. There is the cutest beach-side stand just steps from the base of the stairs. My kiddos called it "the corn dog stand". They loved being able to run down for a soda, corn dog, or chicken strips. We rented wetsuits and surfboards right next door as well. Talk about making it easy! We will be back, indefinitely. It was everything we had hoped for and more.

Paradise Found!

Really enjoyed our 5-night stay at this cute little beachfront condo and wish we could have extended it longer! With more than enough space for a family of 3 and loads of amenities, this spot was perfect for our beach vacation. Imagine making a coffee in the morning and walking down a short flight of stairs to land right on the beach with the ocean crashing at your feet and ending each day with the most gorgeous sunset right on your own private, elevated deck. Proximity to the sand can’t be beat and great food options are within walking distance. Having access to a washer & dryer was wonderful, especially with a toddler in tow, and we were pleasantly surprised to find things available to us that aren’t listed such as board games in the linen closet and a stroller, which came in extremely handy for nightly walks by the beach as well as day trips to Disneyland and LegoLand. Our hosts were easy to communicate with and ensured our stay was lovely. Something needed to be fixed during our stay and hosts were great about giving us advanced notice and scheduling repairs around our itinerary for the day. You are definitely in the center of activity in this location, which becomes more apparent during the weekend when nightlife can get noisy - minimal for a heavy sleeper but could be a nuisance for light sleepers like myself! However, for all the amazingness this property provides, a little noise on the weekend is easy to put up with — just pack some ear phones and throw on your favorite Podcast to tune it out ;) We will absolutely be returning to this little slice of paradise! Thank you to our hosts for such an incredible week!

Location, location, location!

Everything you need is within walking distance. We loved just people watching and hanging out on deck in evening. Rented bikes next door. Owner kept in touch before arrival.

Great location and setting, but unit is a bit run down.

We loved staying near Newport Pier and waking up to the beachfront view. It was an ideal location for my husband and I and our two adult children. Your definitely near the hubbub of activity which we enjoy. The hosts were responsive and called to check in a few days before our arrival. BUT, we were disappointed in the rental unit itself. Windows/screens are very dirty, as well as baseboards, heating unit rusted in many places, stained bedspread, popcorn ceilings in bedrooms have lots of "dust bunnies" hanging down, patio furniture is not what was pictured and needed much cleaning before use, beach furniture rusted but usable, kitchen drawers and cupboards disheveled and dirty, red wine splattered on cabinets (easy clean up, though), couch is a bit tattered, no mattress covers on bunk beds, "foam bed" in master was very uncomfortable for me and my husband (others may like that squishy/soft type of mattress) and shades for floor to floor windows/doors would have been nice for privacy at night and to reduce glare during the day when needed. We are not folks who are used to fancy stays in simple is just fine with us. It was definitely a trade off...beautiful setting, but a bit run down and didn't feel clean (cleaning fee was way too high for what you get).

Owner's Response: I'm so sorry that the cleaning was not up to standard. My normal cleaning person was unavailable during the holiday and we had a substitute person clean before your arrival. The photo of the patio furniture is different than what's there now, the older patio furniture was of less quality, but now there is a high end set of Tropitone patio furniture....and the moisture and salt air must have left a residue after it was cleaned a few days before your arrival. As far as the comfort of the bed mattress, I know it's a subjective item, but I've had many people comment of how comfortable it is. I will be adding new mattress covers on the bunk beds. With my regular cleaning person coming back from holiday these cleaning issues shouldn't be a problem anymore.
