This quaint cottage is a great retreat for someone with a fast paced lifestyle. Relax in the private, fenced backyard with a deck and outdoor patio with furniture, hammock, grill and fire pit.
Our cottage is close to paved bicycle path which runs throughout the tri-cities area, leading you directly to downtown Grand Haven and Lake Michigan! Minutes to the lake, walk to antique stores, close to shopping and dining! Take our kayaks (and life jackets) to the end of the street to get into Spring Lake and enjoy some time on the water. We are close to sand dunes and many great hiking places.
Family friendly with pack-n-play, high chair, and lots of toys for kiddos.
The pictures on the site are a little dated, new ones are coming soon! Improvements since these pictures include an all new bathroom, exterior of the cottage is now a crisp white with a great new front porch, and the beds have been rearranged to have a total of 3full beds, 2twin beds and a queen sleeper sofa!

For our first anniversary, we planned to go to California's wine country to celebrate. At the last minute, we decided to save some money and visit Michigan instead. We found a cottage online and were having such a wonderful time on our trip, that we called a local Coldwell Banker Realtor and asked to see some homes. Before we left, we had purchased this cottage and have loved it ever since! OK...so, it wasn't cheaper than a California trip, but has made many more memories!!!
Stephanie Cutter purchased this house in 2005
We loved Spring Lake...it was a little cheaper than Grand Haven, but so close to everything we wanted to do on our vacations. We live in Chicago now in a condo, so on our trips to MI we wanted to have a yard, a hammock and our own house! We are able to ride our bikes without the Chicago city traffic, go to Lake MI and enjoy a beautiful beach, little shops (our favorite is an independent book store in Grand Haven, plus several great antique shops!) and restaurants, and quiet days and nights in the backyard.
Our favorite part is surely the ability to be in the back yard, get to the lake and Grand Haven, and nice nights on the town! In the back yard, we can nap, play games, read our books, my husband paints, and we never have to leave! However, there are plenty of places to go for dinner and drinks! Walk along the board walk to Old Boys Brewhouse and dine on the patio overlooking the lake channel. Or, drive a couple miles west on M104 and visit Vandermill, a cider mill with great food, live musing, and family friendly outdoor seating. We have frequently gone to Snug Harbor in Grand Haven and enjoyed our meal from their deck while overlooking the lake, or have a nice lunch at Kirbys from their great roof deck!!
The cabin was everything we wanted and more. It is exactly as described and perfect for my family which included a dog and 2 year old boy. There was plenty to do in the house (provided) and around the area. Good location, with a great pizza place down the street. The locals were friendly and made great suggestions on things to see. The owners are friendly, easy to contact and have even offered to store a few things that we forgot. We are definitely planning on coming back next year! Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Very enjoyable. Nice location, very clean and comfortable. It is evident the owners take pride and take care of their property. We were in town for a wedding and though we spent most time away from this property this location / house was very convenient and accessible to everywhere we needed to go. When returning at night and between other appointments, it provided much relaxation and comfort. Other than some food we brought, nothing else was required.
I recommend this property to others in particular families and do plan on coming back again in the future to enjoy the property and the location. Spring Lake and surrounding is a perfect vacation spot.
My husband and I took both our mothers to Michigan and stayed here in this cute house. The neighborhood was quiet and nice for walks. We drove into Grand Haven each day (about 5 minutes) to shop, visit Lake Michigan, have supper, and basically sight-see. The house was clean and VERY well stocked with day to day items. I appreciated the upstairs air conditioners, as it was very hot up there! ;) We took our dog and he enjoyed running around in the fenced backyard! Overall a great stay with no problems!!
The owners of this place thought of everything! The place was very cozy and clean and very welcoming. There were board games, kids toys, DVD's and VHS movies. It felt just like home, we will likely be staying here again!
My husband and I rented this adorable little place while waiting to move into our new home. It is fully furnished and has everything you need to feel at home. It is also well cared for, inside and out. The house is located just a short distance from the bike path, and is conveniently located to get just about anywhere in less than 10 minutes. The owners are extremely attentive and helpful. If you're looking for a fancy place with all the bells and whistles, this might not be for you; but if you're looking for a cute, comfortable, fully furnished cottage that lets you relax and enjoy all that this area has to offer, you should consider staying here.
Seven women had such a blast visiting the Spring Lake / Grand Haven for a bachelorette weekend. The home accommodations were clean, comfy, well-appointed and exact to our expectations. We would all stay there again. As well as a quick and reasonable cab fare to pretty much anywhere we needed to go. All the resident neighbors were super friendly and tolerant of our come-and-go traffic. Stephanie was very helpful in prompt response and providing details not only about the home but area amenities. The only thing we found not-so-favorable was that the lawn crew showed up a little on the early side Saturday morning when the mothers in our group were really hoping to sleep-in.
