Recently remodeled and fully furnished cottage in Spring Lake.

Please contact us for reduced long term rental rates between September - June!

This completely furnished three-bedroom, one-bath, sleeps 8-10. Fully equipped with all bedding, kitchenware, and washer/dryer for additional convenience. As a bonus, you'll find many board games, movies, karaoke machine (lots of fun!) and books...just in case of a rainy day!

This quaint cottage is a great retreat for someone with a fast paced lifestyle. Relax in the private, fenced backyard with a deck and outdoor patio with furniture, hammock, grill and fire pit.

Our cottage is close to paved bicycle path which runs throughout the tri-cities area, leading you directly to downtown Grand Haven and Lake Michigan! Minutes to the lake, walk to antique stores, close to shopping and dining! Take our kayaks (and life jackets) to the end of the street to get into Spring Lake and enjoy some time on the water. We are close to sand dunes and many great hiking places.

Family friendly with pack-n-play, high chair, and lots of toys for kiddos.

The pictures on the site are a little dated, new ones are coming soon! Improvements since these pictures include an all new bathroom, exterior of the cottage is now a crisp white with a great new front porch, and the beds have been rearranged to have a total of 3full beds, 2twin beds and a queen sleeper sofa!

About Stephanie Cutter

For our first anniversary, we planned to go to California's wine country to celebrate. At the last minute, we decided to save some money and visit Michigan instead. We found a cottage online and were having such a wonderful time on our trip, that we called a local Coldwell Banker Realtor and asked to see some homes. Before we left, we had purchased this cottage and have loved it ever since! OK...so, it wasn't cheaper than a California trip, but has made many more memories!!!

Stephanie Cutter purchased this house in 2005

Why Stephanie Cutter chose West Central

We loved Spring Lake...it was a little cheaper than Grand Haven, but so close to everything we wanted to do on our vacations. We live in Chicago now in a condo, so on our trips to MI we wanted to have a yard, a hammock and our own house! We are able to ride our bikes without the Chicago city traffic, go to Lake MI and enjoy a beautiful beach, little shops (our favorite is an independent book store in Grand Haven, plus several great antique shops!) and restaurants, and quiet days and nights in the backyard.

What makes this house unique

Our favorite part is surely the ability to be in the back yard, get to the lake and Grand Haven, and nice nights on the town! In the back yard, we can nap, play games, read our books, my husband paints, and we never have to leave! However, there are plenty of places to go for dinner and drinks! Walk along the board walk to Old Boys Brewhouse and dine on the patio overlooking the lake channel. Or, drive a couple miles west on M104 and visit Vandermill, a cider mill with great food, live musing, and family friendly outdoor seating. We have frequently gone to Snug Harbor in Grand Haven and enjoyed our meal from their deck while overlooking the lake, or have a nice lunch at Kirbys from their great roof deck!!

Great time at Whistling Dixie

  • 5 of 5

Whistling Dixie was a wonderful place for our family trip. We were so happy to find a home that could accommodate 8-10 people and the pups! It was so much fun to be able to bring our dogs on the trip. The back yard was perfect for playing yard games and having a bonfire. The Spring Lake/Grand Haven area has so much to do, and this home is close to it all. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Great home away from home

  • 5 of 5

The property was super clean and had all the things we needed for the 4 kids we brought with us. Although we couldn't drive to most of the attractions we visited, it was only a short ride there. We were really lucky to have such nice weather and got to experience so many things around Grand Haven!

Great for Younger Kids

  • 5 of 5

Nice cottage in a good location convent to Grand Haven. We have three kids under 6 and it was the perfect size for us. Love that we didn't have to bring a pack and play or high chair. Everything was very clean. We have been to rentals where the pack and plays were so gross we wouldn't put our kids in them. The cottage has many toys, water toys, books, etc. the bathroom is new with a nice tub for the kids baths. The yard is fenced in so we could let the kids and dog roam free.

The only negative point was that we had to drive to the beaches but that was ok for us since we have to lug so much stuff for the kids anyways. We also went to a different beach everyday.

There is a park, bike trail and boardwalk within walking distance. The sandwich shop and brewery are also super close and walkable. The sandwich shop has awesome food!

The owner was immediately available when we couldn't get in the house the first day. Issue was resolved quickly.

We had a blast spending a week here!

Great location! Cute cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Grand Haven. We had a wonderful time! The cottage is in a great location, right next to a bike bath and Spring Lake and not far from downtown Grand Haven, where there is a beach, shops and restaurants. We also drove about 20 minutes to the national park and hiked. We had seven adults, although the cottage is very kid friendly. We grilled one evening and the hammock came in use also. The upstairs bedrooms are very cute but have slanted ceilings so this was a little bit of an inconvenience for my adult children but they really did not mind. It was a vacation I will never forget!

Great experience

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience staying at this cottage. The house was clean, comfortable, and inviting. Owner Stephanie was very helpful to us on our first day. Four of us stayed there (2 adults and 2 kids) for our daughter's soccer tournament on Grand Haven beach (a 10 min. drive), and it worked out really well. We rented bikes in Grand Haven at Rock & Road and rode around Spring Lake (about 15 miles). Fun and easy to do from the house. (The bike path goes right by the house). I enjoyed a nap in the hammock in the lovely backyard. We were able to bring our dog, too. We liked walking around and eating in downtown Grand Haven (5 min. drive) as well. A very fun weekend. Thank you!
