About Carrie

Both being musicians and writers, our house is a place for creativity and reflection. Our house is 14 years old and we built it with the thought of it being a refuge from travel and a crazy on-the-road life. It has been all we dreamed of and more!

Carrie purchased this house in 2001

Why Carrie chose Rainbow Valley

Perfect for couples.

What makes this house unique

Our house sits on 4 gorgeous acres covered with aspen and pine trees. With coffee mug in hand, we often walk the road that loops around our mountain and enjoy the fresh morning air. It is quiet neighborhood where residents respect nature and appreciate the serenity that mountain life offers. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac with two mountain chalets either side. Wildlife abounds. Deer, elk, fox, rabbit and even Colorado brown bear are a common sight. We are six miles from the cozy western town of Cripple Creek with its silver mine, horse back riding, train, and casinos. Muller State Park and The Crags are both a 10 minute drive; where you can hike and even see elk and long horn sheep.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The views were amazing and we saw a double rainbow! It was the perfect place to spend our 25th anniversary. We celebrated by taking a jeep tour up Pikes Peak. Your home is beautiful!

The view from the swing on the deck was absolutely Fabulous !!! The Aspens were changing everyday that we were there. The house was very inviting. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Can't wait to come back to Colorado for our next vacation ;)

Amazing, all-inclusive home with a beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

Notes were provided throughout the house, which were very helpful in giving instructions on how to use the different amenities that we might not have used otherwise. There wasn't a shortage of things to do at the house. We were able to use the hot tub, a variety of board games, the sound system, television, deck swing, ping pong table, piano, and kitchen utensils. We enjoyed the secluded atmosphere of the home, which provided us with a relaxing get-away. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful Cabin Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

What a great experience! The cabin was immaculately kept! You can tell that a lot of time and caring goes into the home! We loved the hot tub with the view of the mountains, one of our favorites! The living space offered plenty of room for 5 people. The kids were able to play games and ping pong in the basement while the adults were able to relax upstairs. The house has a bedroom on the main floor (queen size bed) and a bedroom with 2 single beds in the basement. Then a pull out couch or if you are my son, he just preferred the couch. The kitchen was stocked with anything that you could need and was great for cooking our own meals. A grill is also located on the property which we got great use out of. I would recommend this cabin to anyone and my family cannot wait to go back! The view is breathtaking and we had a lot of fun enjoying the clear mountain views! This cabin is a must if you are planning on staying in the area.
