Lisa's family had owned this home ever since it was built over thirty years ago. When her family decided it was time for them to sell, Dennis and Lisa jumped at the chance to purchase it to keep the house in the family. While both Dennis and Lisa still regularly enjoy time here with their little kids, they have also opened up their doors to renters so that they too can create cherished memories of family vacations on the Cape.
The house was absolutely wonderful and as described. The owners were great communicators and everything in the house worked wonderfully. We enjoyed our walks to Skaket beach, being able to bring our dog, eating at the Jailhouse, eating on the screened in porch, sitting in the Adirondack chairs, using the fire pit, watching tv/movies, and playing monopoly. We loved that it could easily fit to separate parties and had two very separate bathrooms both with showers. I plan on definitely staying at this rental again in the future and everyone in our party of four plus one dog really enjoyed it.
Two families stayed in this house, and there was enough space between us that we could have our own "separate time" without feeling we were crowded in on each other. And when we all wanted to hang together, there was plenty of great common space! At most a ten minute walk to our favorite beach on the Cape (Skaket). And Lisa was very communicative and responsive when we needed her. Thanks!!
In early June three generations of our family shared a wonderful vacation at this house. The house was spotlessly clean and was well equipped and comfortable. The living area was decorated in beach colours and had a nice, airy feel. The screened porch off of the dining area, overlooking the very private lawn, was a lovely spot for meals. While sitting there we saw bunnies, numerous songbirds, a fox and a deer! The double beds in the downstairs bedroom were a bit too small for two adults (especially in hot weather), but made great single beds. Just a short walk from AMAZING Skaket Beach, this is a superlative vacation spot!! Thank you, Lisa.
A group of 10 of us stayed down here for our friend's wedding and had an amazing weekend. The house was the perfect size and we all slept comfortably (4 couples plus 2 single gals). We were able to take advantage of the screened in porch and the firepit. We walked into town each morning for coffee and were so close to the beach. It's in a great location and was perfect layout for our group and we couldn't have been happier! The wedding was at the Linnell House, literally right down the street. We left the weekend already planning a reunion of sorts just as an excuse to rent here again!
we love the skaket beach area. we very much enjoyed our stay at this property. it had everything you would want for a cape vacation as was described in the property description. nice short walk to the beach, bike paths, nice yard and screened in porch, etc. it was clean and tidy when we arrived. i have communicated with the owner several times during the course of the year since i booked and she was very, very nice.
A couple of things maybe would be replacing one or two of the double beds with queens (just a little small for 2 people). And the kitchen and bath fixtures, as well as general decor was a bit outdated but certainly functional by all means. Also the lock box could be a little larger for the 2 key rings.
Overall we had a great week and would certainly come back again. I would recommend this to my friends as well.
