About Martha Johnson

Aggie's house has been a joy to my family for over 30 years. In addition to family many friends and renters have used it and enjoyed it as well. We live in Virginia but love the beach at Isle of Palms, our location and all the low country has to offer, so we travel there as much as we are able.

Martha Johnson purchased this house in 1981

Why Martha Johnson chose Charleston Area

My deceased husband and his son purchased this house originally. After his death I have tried to be a good steward of the property, so that family and friends can continue to enjoy it. Because it is vacant a lot of the time it makes sense to rent it so others can enjoy it as well.

What makes this house unique

Many barrier islands have built up over the years, and Isle of Palms is no exception. Huge houses that sleep 25+ have been built, but I love the charm that our little house provides. It reminds me of the way the island used to be.

We had a great time at a lovely home

  • 5 of 5

A great area and house for a family retreat. Well equipped for what you need while there. Minutes from grocery shopping. Quiet setting. Very accommodating owner. A very quality place to stay. Maybe 5 minute walk to beach. Good cooking utensils, etc. Beds sleep well. I have no idea why there is a fire place, maybe it gets cool enough but while we were there the weather was great except one rainy day and even it was enjoyable because the house is very comfortable. I'll return.

Great beach house with Everything you need

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed here for my friend's wedding. This house is perfect for 3 couples. We each had our own on suite bathrooms. The house was perfect for us. There is plenty of room. They had recently added in new counter tops and they looked great. The kitchen seemed well stocked. We didn't do a whole lot of cooking. The toaster oven was brand new. Everything was in good condition. The beach access is just a short walk away and there were beach chairs and a nice cart to use. I would definitely consider staying here again if I came back. My only wish would be to have 3 king size beds instead of 1 king and 2 queens. Then this would be a real gem.

Wonderful vacation!!

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect. Light & bright rooms. Good size gathering room with seating for all. Plenty of seating in the dining room. Each bedroom had its own private bathroom. The mattresses were great! The kitchen was well stocked to cook up a meal. The house has a clean & well decorated feel.

The beach is just across the road. We walked most mornings on the sand.

Easy driving to Goose Creek (for our son's graduation), Charleston and the market. Had a fabulous lunch at The Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan's Island.

And another great lunch at Fleet Landing in Charleston.

The people we met were all very friendly.

We love the low country ❤️❤️❤️!

We spent Thanksgiving week at this home and it was very accommodating.......great beds, lots of kitchen supplies for cooking and serving. Even a crib so our grandson could nap there. 2 blocks from the beach. Would definitely stay there again!
