Wonderful Cottage for any type of vacation
My parents rented this beautiful home located in the heart of Suttons Bay. They absolutely loved it. It was very cozy and comfortable, and I can assure you they will want to come visit my wife and I more often knowing they can stay at a wonderful place like this.
Outstanding! Glad they enjoyed the area and cottage and hope they can return.
Thanks for the review
Happy Days in Suttons Bay!!!
It's the cutest cottage in the city!
Happy to hear you enjoy the Bayview and its prime location across from the marina so much and looking forward to your return next summer. Be sure to check out my other properties available yearly if you find yourself requiring a magical Leelanau County fix!
Great location! Close walk to downtown and the beach.
Great location! Inside was spacious and clean. Furniture and deco outdated but didn't bother us. Nice size bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Our only criticism is regarding the outside. It would have been much nicer if the weeds and landscaping (and many bugs on the siding) were cared for and perhaps there was an area to sit. We would possibly stay again and recommend but only if the outside area was taken care of. It would have been nice to be able to sit outside with a view facing the beach and marina.
Happy to know you enjoyed the accommodations and magical Leelanau County during your stay. Unfortunately there is not an out door area to view the water - however a 20 second walk across the street put one at the the largest sandy beach on the bay. Please consider a return visit at one of my other 4 homes which are waterfront and offer unparalleled views.
The landscaping has been brought up to standard.
Great location and fully furnished
We loved being able to walk right out our door to the beach, library, restaurants, bike rentals, and more. The cottage was cozy with all the amenities we needed to relax and cook a meal if desired. The owners are a nice couple who know the area well.
Thanks for your response and happy to know you enjoyed the Bayview Cottage and it's prime location for another year. I know you are making long lasting family memories and my family enjoys seeing you every year and your family grow, Hope to see you return in 2018!
Comfortable and complete cottage, prime location
My family has stayed at this cottage twice and are planning to go back again. The owners know alot about the area, and are always happy to chat and help with any needs. Three features that make this cottage a prime place to stay are 1) The cottage itself: comfortable, fully furnished, and has enough space to relax or play with your children, 2) Location within town: We could see the beach, marina, and were only a few steps from restaurants, shops, church, and a inexpensive movie rental shop, 3) Location on the penninsula: It doesn't get any better than Sutton's Bay for access to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leeland, all the parks and hiking around Leelenau, and easy access to the wine (and cider) country.
Happy to please and glad to learn you are returning this summer! The Leelanau Trail is a nice new addition you will enjoy - ideal for biking, walking and exercising. See you in June!
A perfect getaway in a charming town
Our stay was fantastic! Sutton's Bay is a nice change of pace from the bustling, often busy downtown Traverse City. My fiance, mother and I stayed here for a couple of nights and had a great time. We would definitely stay here again.
The owners were very accommodating. They were the sweetest elderly pair that wanted us to know about everything we could do in the area. They also own a bed and breakfast next to the cottage in this listing that I would be interested in staying at as well. The food one of the owners was cooking for breakfast smelled amazing. We had asked for linens to be provided and we had so many! There was also a ton of extra blankets as this area can get cool at night in the summer. We also had a couple of special requests as we were in the area for a short time - we asked if we could book the cottage for 2 nights instead of a week and if we could have a late checkout on Thursday due to a work conference call that had to be attended on vacation - both of these requests were accommodated with a smile.
The location was fantastic - a pub is 300 feet away, as well as, the rest of the Sutton's Bay Village. Even with all of the restaurants and shops nearby, it's still peaceful. The water is a short walk away and very visible from the cottage. The beach in front of the cottage has nice sand, volleyball courts and picnic tables. The property is also about a 10 min drive from some of the best wineries on the peninsula.
We're getting married in May at Blackstar Farms Vineyard (10 min away) - I will make sure to recommend this cottage to our out of town guests.
