Fantastic Autumn Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at the lake. The cottage had everything we needed and was conveniently located between Glen Arbor & Leland. Only minutes away from several outstanding wineries. Hiking in Sleeping Bear Park, running around Little Traverse Lake and listening to the guitarist at Little Traverse Inn were our favorite parts of the weekend. We will return for sure!
Nice setting, but there were some unpleasant issues.
Overall, the beginning of the week was fine. Issues: 1) propane tank did not work, had to contact owner 2) tv use directions unclear, contacted owner 3) couldn’t start the bark kindling in the fire pit, went & got fire-starters & owner gave us charcoal lighter fluid 4) for-warning about fruit flies did not cover the horrid problem even with all food in fridge & garbage taken out couple of times a day 4) worst of all, power went out Friday morning for a day & half, with no running water! Owners thought we were complainers; it was a week off work for my family of four & we were disappointed. Owners offered a night at the Homestead which we declined; didn’t want to move 2 times & back into the fruit fly situation. It is a beautiful location, but very small.
You’ll have a tough time finding a better place. Right on the lake. Your personal dock with row boat and kayaks. Good deck with grill and a fire pit and firewood included. Cottage is simple, clean, and layout provides a beautiful view of the lake while eating or relaxing inside. Price is more than fair given layout, location, and amenities. Will most certainly stay again and recommend!
The Perfect Getaway
A Home away from home!! Beautiful spot, very clean and updated, has all the amenities and comforts of home. Centrally located to great attractions. Enjoyed a beautiful day of kayaking right out our front door...finished our busy days with a nice relaxing camp fire.
Market 22 directly across the street was the icing on the cake!! Not only did we pick up a few items we forgot, the friendly atmosphere welcomes you to try one of their outstanding pizzas or fabulous sandwiches!!!!!
We intend to plan this trip every year!!!
Super clean and cute! Wonderful lake just steps from the deck. Bike trail close. Hosts could not be nicer. Highly recommended! We hope to be back next summer!
