Two pair of Bald Eagles inhabit the estuary, along with Blue Heron and other sea birds to view while they hunt for their daily meals. The magnificent Gearhart Elk herd may even make an appearance. Above our couch are two pictures taken by a local photographer of the elk herd crossing the estuary. Additional wildlife photos can be viewed at the Fairweather Gallery & Home Décor, and at other galleries in the Gilbert District on Broadway Street just west of Holladay Street in Seaside.
A white sandy beach awaits you for building sand castles, flying a kite, or touch football just off the back lawn. For the sea food lover, there is a clam gun and blue bucket stored in the laundry room, and a small rack for crabbing in the carport. Two reference books on crabbing and clamming are located in the wicker baskets. There is public access to the estuary adjacent to the carport. This is the easiest and safest way to walk on to the beach.
