RIGHT OVER THE WATER...., built in 2005, exquisite condition, with beautiful outside patio. Views out over Frenchman's Bay, living room ( 48" flatscreen TV)with two sliders and 1 picture window all on the water side. Dinning room and kitchen with breakfast bar, corian counter tops, hardwood floors throughout. 1 bedroom and full bath on the first floor, second floor 2 bedrooms and bath, sliders from the master bedroom, both rooms have picture windows, master has fireplace. 32" TVs in all 3 bed rooms, and 48" TV in the living room tho photo shows previous model. Kayaker's dream...easy walk .....100' to the water.....because you don't want to climb down the cliff...walk across the lawn to the private access road and launch your kayak....walk the beach or ask the resident lobster man to drop off fresh lobsters on his way home this afternoon....Great home......... Great location...........P.S. the wifi is up and running!

**There is a 250.00 deposit for a pet. Ask for the pet policy. Deposit will be due on arrival and will be returned in full providing no damage detected.

We had a wonderful vacation. The house was just as described. Its very nicely furnished with incredibly comfortable accomodations. It was so nice and relaxing even with the rain some days. We hiked a few times and went for a long kayak tour on another day. We enjoyed going into Bar Harbor, but the Crocker House was just excellent, and so charming. But spending time just looking out at the ocean was nice too. You have a beautiful location there, it was really peaceful and quiet. We really enjoyed the lovely private patio...away from it all.

I loved our stay at the Hancock House! The property is gorgeous and on a beautiful spot on the cove.

This place in Maine is a gem. Beautifully situated on a quiet dead end street with access to a rocky beach running along the cove, it was a great place to walk our yellow lab. On clear days we could see the mountains of Mt. Desert Island from the end of the street. Swimming was not possible because of the seaweed, but we did not come to swim. The house is well appointed, clean and has beautiful views from all of the windows. It was about a 45 minute ride to Bar Hatbor, but just as beautiful was the ride to the Schoodic Penninsula which was about the same distance from Hancock. Winter Harbor and the part of Acadia there was way less crowded. Lots of cute artist galleries and shops too. Our favorite meals were eating lobsters caught by Babe and delivered fresh to our door, and lunch at Stewman's Lobster Pound in Bar Harbor. We loved Cadillac Mountain and the whole Park Loop especially the Ocean Path, as well as Northeast Harbor. Next time we'd love to bike on the carriage roads. Judy was very responsive to our needs during our booking and visit. Although we never did get the internet up and running during our stay, I am sure it will get figured out. Her house next door looks cute too!

Beautiful quiet spot yet only short drive to bustling Bar Harbor & Acadia

Spent a very nice week at this spacious home which has a smaller rental cottage on the same property. Every room provides a water view and owner does a great job surrounding the homes with beautiful flowers. The cove is quiet and peaceful , not a lot of noise from either people or watercraft on the water which was surprising considering it was peak summer season. The surrounding roads were great for exploring by bicycle. Location is also close enough to spend a day visiting Acadia National Park, Cadillac Mountain and all the touristy shops of downtown Bar Harbor. No lack of restaurants to get your fresh seafood and a local lobster fisherman will delivery fresh , caught that day, lobster right to the house at great prices. The only reason I did not give this rental a 5 star rating is that there is quite a bit of "deferred maintenance" that if done would bump this up to a 5 star. Nothing serious, just things like screen doors with holes, a kitchen faucet leaking badly, non working garbage disposal , no easy path down to the water, and overgrown rose bushes that provide privacy but block view from patio seating area more than this website picture would indicate. All in all a very nice spot.

Owner's Response: Thanks Sue...the deferred maintenance has been completed....plumbing done .....hedges clipped...but steps ate out due waterfront use rules...there is a path across the lawn.." through the weeds." (about 20') and onto the beach. The house sits high over a little cliff covered with "scrapple." Cannt build steps theough scrapple. This is the first time i had an issie with that in 12 years of ownership. Screen door repaired and replaced.

Decorating interventions acted on and a wake up call identified. An eval will be placed inside to solicite this type of info immediately from each guest....

Pretty, Relaxing, Peaceful and Enjoyable!

My husband & I were searching for a quiet home with modern amenities ocean front to enjoy our vacation. This home fit our search 110%.

As we were driving toward our destination with anticipation, we were so happy to see the location was down a less traveled road and the home was facing the bay with a spectacular unobstructed view of the bay.

When we arrived, we parked right in front of the house. We noticed the pretty garden arbor and the colorful mums at the entrance. As we walked through the arbor and into the patio, we found the area to be relaxing and secluded with other colorful potted flowers, a patio set, a brand new gas grill and sliding door leading into the open 1st floor of the home. But before entering the home, we gasped at the pretty view of the bay with the homes nestled in the woods around it and the few boats in the water. We walked to the edge of the property and looked down at the rocky beach area as the tide was out and thought... how perfectly beautiful!

When we entered the home, it was very clean and had a beautifully open floor plan. There were several full sliding doors and bay windows on the 1st floor which provided gorgeous views of the bay. We had the windows opened most of the visit and enjoyed the fresh breeze off of the bay. Surprisingly, you would think there would be a fishy odor since the home is situated on the bay, but there was absolutely no odor at all. It was enjoyable to see the tide come in and out each day. When the tide was out, we walked on the beach area and collected shells and smooth rocks.

The upstairs bedroom was dreamyyyyyyy. It was huge with several sliders and a bay window along with a pretty sitting area with 2 small comfortable chairs with a glorious view to sit, enjoy your coffee and watch the sunrise in the morning.

The master bath was extra roomy with a very large stand up shower with seats AND a jetted corner tub for a relaxing bubble bath!

During our stay, we enjoyed the patio set, grilled delicious steaks which we purchased at the Shaw's in Ellsworth and then relaxed in the Adirondack chairs watching the fire in the fire pit overlooking the

bay.

We drove to Bar Harbor, the Acadia Park Loop and the quiet side of the area during our visit. We also enjoyed some local meals along with cooking in the modern and fully functional kitchen at the home.

Wonderful Place and LandLord!

We had a wonderful stay with beautiful scenery and a superb view! The house was well maintained and clean. We had one issue with the smoke alarm which was addressed immediately by Volunteer Fire Dept, neighbors sent by Landlord where we met a local lobster Fisherman whom we purchased a fresh caught lobster and whom gave us great advice on how to cook our first Lobster which was delicious!! I highly recommend this place as you will love it!

Winter rental is minimum of 6 months. preference given to longer stays $900.00/mo +utilities. question email owner.

Pet/property deposit is due 7 days prior to arrival and will be refunded 7 days after departure proving there is no damage. This deposit is to prevent damage by pets and to be sure all items are present on departure :ie steak knives, silverware, glasses, and dishes. There will be an inventory given to each guest upon arrival. As for the pet policy, just follow the policy and there will be a full refund. Guest who do not have pets are very sensitive to the pet smells and pets can require extra cleaning. I think the policy I have in place, helps to minimize the" traces" pets leave.
Winter rate is for minimum of 6 months preference will be given for 8 months. The rent is $900.00/mo + utilities.
