Your private apartment is set within a gorgeous, beautifully-appointed 1917 Craftsman Bungalow in the premiere walking district of Seattle - theaters, restaurants, shopping and more shopping, parks and trails for walking and biking; close to bus lines to downtown Seattle, the Seattle Art Museum and Seattle Center and the Sound Transit trains; near the tulip fields and ferries to the San Juan Islands and historic areas north of Seattle; Mt. Rainier and Mount St. Helens are a day-trip; quiet, residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking. Relax on the outside patio for some quiet time, enjoy a short walk to one of the neighborhood theaters or restaurants (sushi, Italian, Japanese, Thai, vegetarian, fusion, pizza, etc., etc.). There's nothing you'll need that you can't find in Wallingford. The apartment is large and gracious with opening garden windows which are visible to the right of the front door in the picture.

This was the most perfect place to stay for a beautiful spring Seattle getaway! Super close to tons of shops, coffee spots, and restaurants. The apartment itself is so beautiful and cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed when we didn't feel like eating out or when we just wanted to have a quiet night in. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would love to return for another visit. :)

We absolutely loved our stay in Garnett's apartment. The location is perfect, with amazing restaurants within walking distance (Haerfest was one of our favorites). Super easy to get to the bus or light rail...we walked to both. The light rail was a little further, but it was fun to check out our options and walk around a bit. The apartment was cute and comfortable, with all the necessities. We were starting our 25th anniversary celebration at Garnett's apartment, and she left a sweet card, chocolates, and beautiful flowers from her garden. Such a sweet gesture, and there were several small, quirky touches in the apartment that just made it feel like a home.Just as an fyi for future guests: Garnett's description and other reviews speak about how walkable the area it is, and I just have to confirm. We rented a car just to be sure, and literally drove it from the airport to the house and that was it. We walked everywhere and it was super easy to get downtown from there. So unless you plan to go to Mt Rainier, etc. you would be fine without a car if you dont mind walking a little.

I bought my house in 1987. Once I toured this neighborhood, I knew it was for me. The mother-in-law apartment was part of the house when I moved in - and has provided opportunity for 'sharing the wealth' all these years.

What makes this property unique

You'll be able to look out the back kitchen window at the lovely garden, close the curtains for a quiet and peaceful sleep in the bedroom, enjoy the bright sun and park-view from the living area. If the day is warm, open the divided-light porch windows and let the breeze blow in the scents of the flowers and trees that surround this charming property.
