About The Owner

I live in the main part of this house - renting out the two separate apartments. I enjoy meeting new people and take great pleasure in being able to share this part of the country with others. There's so much to do here you'll have to come back time and time again to see it all.

Check out my other property, same location - 364168.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1987

Why The Owner chose Seattle

I bought my house in 1987. Once I toured this neighborhood, I knew it was for me. The mother-in-law apartment was part of the house when I moved in - and has provided opportunity for 'sharing the wealth' all these years.

What makes this apartment unique

You'll be able to look out the back kitchen window at the lovely garden, close the curtains for a quiet and peaceful sleep in the bedroom, enjoy the bright sun and park-view from the living area. If the day is warm, open the divided-light porch windows and let the breeze blow in the scents of the flowers and trees that surround this charming property.

Lovely, comfortable house in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I decided to visit Seattle as our babymoon destination before the birth of our third daughter. This was my first time using vrbo as we are usually hotel stayers so we can rack up rewards points. However, this time we wanted a "real-life" experience and the hotels in downtown Seattle were ridiculously expensive. Garnett's place is in a wonderful neighborhood and has been well maintained. The garden areas are beautiful, the bed is quite comfortable and you're within walking distance to a bunch of cute shops and restaurants. So glad we chose to stay here. There's free street parking across the street and so we just parked the car and used uber to get in and out of the city. This was the perfect vacation: relaxing, stress-free and we are so happy we had perfect weather too! Would definitely stay here again if we return someday.

Great property, fantastic location.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this property. The location is great--you can walk to many restaurants and shops from here. We didn't have any issues with the drives into downtown, CenturyLink Field, the Market, Space Needle, etc. If you're looking for something other than a traditional hotel room, I think this is a great choice.

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at this little apartment in Fremont / Wallingford was just perfect. It is in a nice area of the city that is walkable to shops, a supermarket, and a few restaurants, and it is very close to all that Seattle has to offer. We had a couple of old friends come up to visit from Portland. They stayed overnight on the little pull out couch/bed without any problems. You must walk through the bedroom to get to the kitchen in the back of the apartment, but there is plenty of room. The place made us feel very comfortable with the interesting decor; just right for us. Garnett was nice enough to stop by and meet us, but left us to our privacy. Just perfect!

Wonderful place to stay while visiting our daughter at UW.

This is a charming place to stay. We love walking in the neighborhood & finding new places to eat. Garnett is a wonderful hostess & has created a comfortable home away from home.

A Seattle Bungalow at it's finest

  • 5 of 5

This was my first experience with VRBO so I was a little leery. A friend found this for me so I decided since it was just me traveling, why not.

Well, I an SO glad I did. This little jewel was so comfortable and so close to many walk-able things. I ate at a restaurant 5 minutes from the house and was able to pick up a few groceries to right nearby.

This 1 bedroom "in-law apartment" was nestled in a very nice neighborhood with other very beautiful historic homes surrounding the area. The interior was clean and neat and so very comfortable. I truly felt as if I was staying in a friends home and was so very welcome. I did meet the Owner and she was such a dear person. Everything you need is right there. It was a little chilly the one day and she offered to lend me a longer warmer coat then I had brought....so nice. If I ever have the occasion to return to Seattle, this is the first choice for me.

Owner's Response: I'm delighted your first experience with a VRBO rental was a good one!!! It's how I travel, and why I began my VRBO properties. And, I'm glad you took advantage of this wonderful neighborhood. Since you're an architect, I thought you'd enjoy walking around, looking at these century-old homes. Let's hope they last another century!! Come back any time - and yes, you're always invited to borrow one of my long-coats!
