About Terri B
I've been visiting the Boone area since 1988 and completely fell in love with it. I finally realized my dream of owning a cabin in the beautiful mountains in 2003.
Terri B purchased this Cabin in 2003
Why Terri B chose Vilas
I looked at several cabins and this one said home.

Very cozy and quiet for a romantic getaway .
We had such a good time here last year we decide to get married here 2/8/17 this year .
I am so honored and delighted that you chose A Mountain Dream Cabin for such a special day! Congratulations! You both looked amazing! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness!

A/C ineffective, no views, driveway washed out, road to cabin almost impassable
I am so sorry this was your experience. I will be coming up there this week and will check the driveway situation. Unfortunately the region experienced an extremely heavy amount of rain that might have made the road a challenge. That is why 4 wheel drive is recommended. I will also check the a/c unit which I never use because I always open doors and windows to enjoy the fresh mountain air at 3000 feet, even in the middle of summer and that cools the cabin with no problem. The a/c unit should take care of cooling the entire cabin without any issue. . As does the gas fireplace (even without using the central heat)
The views of Tater Mountain are best viewed from the hot tub which I hope you were able to enjoy!
Once again sorry this was your experience! Would love to make it up to you in a future visit. Thank you for your input.
Nice place but with issues
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but there were several little issues that were not addressed properly. The owner was really nice and called us before our arrival to let us know that she had left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy at the cabin. When we arrived, there was no bottle of wine to be found. We let her know and she had the property management company bring us a bottle of wine which was very nice. Next we noticed there was no hand soap or soap for the shower, there were no dish rags or towels. There was hand sanitizer but that was it. We also noticed the master bath toilet seat had not been cleaned from the previous stay so we ended up cleaning it ourselves. We also noticed it was partially broken. We checked the main bathroom toilet and although that one was clean, the toilet seat was cracked in half on one side. I took photos of both toilet seats and sent them to both the owner and property management company. Also mentioned to them there was no blind or window covering in the master bath above the toilet and you could easily see inside the master bath from outside. The master bath shower had a door frame but the door was not there and they had installed a shower curtain that did not close well. We also only had 4 wash cloths for 4 adults for a 4 day stay. I told the owner and property management company about these issues. The next day they came by to install a new mini blind in the master bathroom and they replaced the toilet seat with one that was way too small for the toilet but they never replaced the toilet seat that was cracked in the main bathroom. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the cabin was well equipped minus the few things I've mentioned. We were disappointed with the bathroom condition but we still had a great time in Asheville. The owner and property management tried to address some of the problems but could not take care of everything. We thought the cost was a little high for what it was and we were a bit disappointed that we were there for 4 days and the toilet seat issue was never resolved. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and the owner was very responsive at first.
I had a relaxing week at the Mountain Dream cabin. i will return! Lovely views. Comfy setup.
My little dog Gracie and I enjoyed our stay at this cabin on the top of the mountain. The furnishings were comfortable. The cabin was clean and the views were amazing. We will be back to Vilas and Mountain Dream the next time we go to the mountains.
Location. Amenities. Pet-friendly!
Simply, we loved our stay here! It had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay.
The location is just secluded enough that we felt we were alone, yet close enough to the area’s attractions. We spent most of the time exploring the area, but made use of the outdoor spaces (decks, hot tub, fire pit, and grill) in the mornings and evenings, enjoying the sounds of nature.
There really isn’t any reason to leave the house if you want solitude, but it’s a perfect spot for a balance of outdoor adventuring and homebody activities.
We will definitely recommend this property to our family and friends, not to mention returning again ourselves in the future.
Thanks for sharing your home! We loved it!
Secluded yet close to everything!
